It’s one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited in Europe. The first impression from outside was not that good, but hey don’t judge a book by it’s cover. You enter and see the rich and plush interiors. They offer a lunch hour buffet during week days which is brilliant. The quality of the food is brilliant with some quick service. Recommend…!

Such a surprise to find this beautiful Indian restaurant with perfect Indian food! Everything was delicious 😋 Service is perfect too, very attentive and friendly. Just 10 min walk from Vaclavske namesti (Museum) Will definitely come again.

I am not sure what sort of Indian restaurant is this. Instead of calling Indian restaurants, they should mention who they are. Let me tell you about food, that doesn't taste Indian at all. I guess they are serving parallel universe Indian food here which is far away from India. Although I went there after seeing the reviews but found out it is not worth of time and money. I tried in total 5 Indian restaurants and this one is not even on that list because it didn't taste Indian. Well, it is my opinion, rest you can visit and find out yourself. I don't think any Indian will like the food. Although the best I like here was Pepsi. This review is completely based on my experience.

We came to this place before for dinner and liked it, but now after some time visited for lunch menu excited to eat paneer, and ended up dissapointed and cheated. There were last 2 peaces of panner dish, lady promissed to bring another refill, they did after 10 minutes and instead of paneer there was tofu! This lie and money saving from side of restaurant could have killed a person with alergy to soybeans!!! We talked to lady and told her this is not paneer and she was ashemed and admited there is no more paneer, we talked to another person who said this is typical that for lunch they use tofu instead! What a lie!! So we ended up paying for food we did not eat. What a customer servis 🫣 please avoid this place

It is the worst indian restaurant I have seen in the europe. Which service is not proper...the man who is giving service is arrogant. Others I don't know. About food you get costly food, quantity small..rice is not included complementary as compare to other restaurant. Food was tasty but we ordered spicy food and they didn't even care about the spice..it was like we were eating sweet food. As compare to price and service. I will not recommend this restaurant to any one.

Great north Indian food in the heart of Prague. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Lots of options for vegetarian food. Environment was very cozy with Soft Bollywood songs. Highly recommended this place to spend time and eat authentic Indian food with your friends and family.

My sister's and I were visiting from UK and were pleasantly surprised how delicious and flavourful the dishes were. We Highly recommend trying the Murg achari tikka, the chicken was cooked to perfection, tender and tasty and Saag paneer. Thank you for a perfect meal to end our holiday.

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Indian cuisine in Prague, Lal Quila is definitely worth a visit. Located in Italska, the restaurant boasts a unique, cave-like interior that adds to the ambience of your dining experience. The menu features a wide variety of dishes, and the chicken masala, mutton rogan josh, mutton korma, and chicken chilli are particularly outstanding. The spices are perfectly balanced, and the dishes are rich and flavorful. However, the biryani could use some improvement. When it comes to dessert, the kesar kheer and pista kulfi are both must-tries. The creamy, sweet flavors are the perfect way to finish off your meal. The servers at Lal Quila are some of the most attentive and friendly around, making your dining experience that much more enjoyable. The location is also fantastic, with its unique cave-like setting adding to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall, if you're looking for delicious Indian food in Prague with a unique ambience, Lal Quila is definitely worth a visit.

I have recently moved to Prague, and was on the lookout for proper Indo Chinese food on this cold, rainy week. I am originally from Kolkata, where we love our Indo chinese. Many failed attempts later, I have had the perfect fried rice today from Lal Qila :) I ordered via Wolt so can't comment about service or atmosphere yet, but will be back to visit in person. Additionally, I can't have have chillies or mirchi powder, which I mentioned in the order notes, and got a chilli-free product.

We went for dinner, and ate chicken chettinad and lamb biriyani. Also had butter naan and saffron kheer. They have the authentic delicious Indian dishes. It's so tasty that I finished all the gravy of the chicken. Ingredients are very fresh and cooked passionately. Best Indian food I had in Prague, bringing indian flavor without using excessive oil and cream. Saffron kheer was delicious it was more like pheerni, the sweetness was balanced. Not related to food but they have very clean and big washrooms and free wifi.

That’s good restaurant. Ambiance is really good and food is amazing. The only annoying thing is that staffs. It seems like they work there by force and not very helpful. Still good food though. Additionally, as you see we ordered 4 dishes but they give us only one chutney. Then we couldn’t finish the whole food. We asked them to pack it for us and they did. We ask them could you please add chutney… And they wanted to charge for chutney as if they gave us in the beginning enough chutney. That was weird but we paid anyway.

Great food as always! I regularly order food from here. I especially like the murg malai tikka which is incredible and I definitely recommend! Also, the garlic nan and mango lassi are a must try. The food is a bit expensive but worth every penny. Especially if you love authentic Indian food you must try this place!

Lal qila is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant and one of my favorite restaurants in general. It gm has been life savior to get Indian food in other parts of world. Lal qila is the one stop destination here in Prague which provides you the real North Indian food taste. Go to the lovely interior restaurant and enjoy any type of food you crave to eat away from home. Paneer items are delicious with garlic green chilli Naan. They learnt a new dish now garlic chilli Naan. Besides the amazing food, the staff is very nice and welcoming and in general the atmosphere is very nice and relaxed.

Amazing authentic Indian cuisine! Apart from getting the most important aspect down, I love the rustic vibe they have going on. The atmosphere is great, the servers are polite and I must say for the price they are up to the standards and beyond. So far I’ve been there more than a handful of times and not a single dish served has been a miss :) this time I got lamb biryani.

Best experience at first time. Food was so amazing and service too. Just ordered veg fried rice , some papadoms with green and mango chutney and delicious gulab jamun. Recommend to everyone whoever visit prague. Anyways chutney was on the house with papadoms. I wanted to add one more information that they charge for the tap water .

Pros: Very tasty food. We were pleasantly surprised with the stuffed Kulcha (we got a special request of paneer and onion, and usually it’s made from whole wheat) being well cooked and crispy on the outside yet soft inside. Ambience is also very soothing. It’s the fusion of old styled Prague dungeons along with traditional Indian furniture coupled with Christmas theme. Cons: Main course quality is not very much. Tip: You can get good combo (Thali) only available online, but not for dine-in.

We were total 5 people from Germany. We ordered: 1. Ghost Nihari (Mutton Shank) 2. Veg Fried Biryani 3. Lamb Karhai 4. Chana Lal 5. Meethi Lassi 6. Tandoori Roti The quality of everything we ordered was awesome. Spices were authentic and almost perfect. Obviously it takes some time to prepare the food, so buckle up and be ready to wait, and I assure you that the food is really wait worthy. The Environment was good and clean. The decorations and theme of the restaurant is very unique, it kind of gives you a vibes of an ancient fort of sub-continent. They certainly need to improve their customer dealing skills, and I hope they will soon. Overall the experience was good 👍🏻 and I highly recommend it.

The food is no doubt delicious, but they charge for normal water which they will never tell upfront and if they miss to add that in your bill, they will add it without asking or telling if by chance you visit them again. They have misprinting in their menu and can charge whatever they like. I might not visit them again because of these hospitality issues. Otherwise the food is good. I just saw some comments below. So just to add The guy named Manoj is sweet, but the other one is bit arrogant and rude. That is true

Great ambiance and delightful Indian food It’s been a year and since I first visited the place. Since then, I go back there at least once a fortnight. The food is flavoursome and well prepared. The service is great. I love their Mushroom Kurkure. If you like mushroom, I would definitely recommended this. Their byriyani is great as well, though a little more oily than you would expect. Edit 1 - I visited Lal Qila after the lockdown and was in for a surprise. They have introduced 2 new dishes in their menu, and I got to try both. (I am told more are to come, so stay tuned) I loooved the soya chap. It was lip smacking. Papdi chat was good as well. Anyone who likes chats, should definitely give it a try. Keep up the great taste and service Lal Qila

Best idian food i have ever had. The service is absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious - we had chicken and lamb korma and the lamb meet was very tender and tasty. I absolutely recommend having butter or garlic naan - they were perfect, tasty and crispy. It is so worth it walking couple of minutes away from the busy Václavske square. Prices are like in TGI Fridays, but the service and food and whole experience was so much better.

This place is great. The food is killer. Lunch menu is 150czk for all you can eat. There are restaurants that's charge twice that for tiny portions. Its in a basement so be aware of that, but it's authentic Indian so I recommend it.
