Great food and drinks! Very nice location and decent service. The prices are normal for that part of town!

11/20/22 Dined around 6 P.M. The nicest guys work here! The goulash soup is a must! The grilled goat cheese was awesome!!! My boyfriend enjoyed his pork knee. I ordered the pork ribs--not too much meat, but their BBQ sauce was awesome!!!! Don't order the "homemade chips." They are just regular shoestring fries--this was very misleading.

We are a couple of a Brazilian/ Italian girl and a Polish guy we had the best dinner in Prague. The U Balouna it’s an amazing place to go and enjoy your holidays at the city. The atmosphere was great, the food was so delicious and the staff were friendly and so funny. He really enjoyed. Thank you guys and I will be back for sure. Best wishes!

It’s was a great experience! The ambiance is very welcoming! Great beer, food and service. The portion sizes are quite large and you won’t be hungry! The staff is very polite and make great recommendations.

Amazing food to tell the least. When you first look from the outside it doesn't feel like a good restaurant. But once you are inside and had the food you will change your mind for sure. The portions sizes are relatively big and super tasty. The service was also good. And the price is very reasonable. 6 of us had a meal here with some drinks and it cost us only around 90 euros. Restaurant is actually located at the lower floor. So there's no cell reception. But they have WiFi.

What a hidden gem with authentic Czech food in the plaza! We enjoyed great food, good beer, and our waiter was awesome 👌

First of all, the staff is not super friendly. They don't seem to be interested in their guests although they don't have many...When you get the bill, they make sure you understand that the service is not included. The worst part is the beer which is very expensive - 140 czk (you can easily find much much cheaper in other places). To be fair, food was tasty.

The food was amazing, but pricy. 539 CZK. My waiter didn't speak much English and was a bit rude. Didn't like that he didn't bring any receipt, just wrote on a paper meals costs.

A nice cozy restaurant. The staff could be a little more friendly. But they weren’t rude, just not that approachable. We had the chicken steak, duck and chicken wings. Overal the food was good. The wings were a little salty for my taste. Some vegetables would be nice with the wings. The chicken steak was nice. It came with vegetables and were also good. The duck was very tender. The cabbage was a little too sour for our taste (but that is something about us, you may like it. The people of Prague love it). Good portions. The food and drinks came quick.

We wanted to eat real Chez food, and we found this little restaurant. The food was really lovely. I had duck, and my husband had stuffed potato balls. Dessert was chocolate cake. The service was quite good, until the end of the meal, when we wanted to pay by card - their machine was not working. It would have been better if we'd been made aware of this. My husband had to leave me in the restaurant while he went to get money.

CARD IS NOT WORKING HERE. BRING EURO OR LOCAL CASH. They let u know only upon payment not upfront. Sad! Good Czech restaurant. We got 1/4 of duck-amazing! Also goulash in a piece of bread, meat was not fatty at all. Exactly what we wanted for our Czech xmas dinner. Place is a bit small but was not many people at the time we were here. Service is meh tho

Good food and beer and nice service. We were offered menus in english, they also exist in german. The place is nice and quiet. There is a big choice of dishes. We appreciated our early dinner.

Half-decent location… Food was ok, nothing special. Quite expensive compared to the quality of restaurants you‘ll find in the backstreets of the old town. The place is ok to stop by if you‘re starving during a shopping tour, but wouldn‘t recommend it for having dinner.

This is outdoor right on the square so it has a great view. We went for the traditional Czech dishes. I had the 1/4 duck with red cabbage, dumplings and bread. My wife had lamb knuckle, mashed potatoes and creamed greens. Both were excellent. Service was great.

We had high hopes for an authentic Czech dining experience but were disappointed. The restaurant seemed outdated at first glance, and the service wasn't friendly. Our order of pork knee was dry and minimal, accompanied only by sauerkraut and sauces. The waiter didn't check on us, and to add to the frustration, card payments weren't possible due to server issues. I'd recommend avoiding this place; exploring elsewhere might leave you with a better impression of Prague.

I ordered the duck, and was delicious. And two beers half liter. The place looks more local and cozy than tourist. That was good for us, because you really could feel de vibe from the locals. The manager suggest the pulled duck burger, but sadly was our last night in Praga. Hopefully we come back soon. The service was good. They were kind and clever.

i can only speak based on our experience, but we were really happy to stumble upon the place while searching for a place to have lunch. the food was super (goulash, burger, chicken), the staff were really nice and accommodating. prices were reasonable (at least in comparison with options nearby).

First time trying Czech food, and it was delicious! Loved the fried cheese, and the beef goulash in bread was quite interesting. However, I was very disappointed in the service and thus the low rating. The staff were not friendly, and throughout the experience we felt that we were under surveillance. We asked "basic" questions about the meals and ingredients in English, and the staff answers were more confusing than helpful. To top it off, we were told that the bill did not include the service and were asked to pay extra. After we paid, the waiter finally smiled and suddenly got much better at speaking english!

It has been the worst experience! The waiters have been drinking beer in front of the bar. They haven't even tried to hide from the customers. In my opinion they were drunk. Every time they had to give the orders to the customers they were asking at all the tables if this is their food or not. We ordered some ribs and 1L beers. When we received the bill we asked why they charged for everybody 2x 0,5L although we ordered 1L where the price has been different. They are trying to rob the customers in that way. After our complaint they became very rude. They didn't want to give us a price list to prove them wrong. They were insulting us and our country because they thought that nobody understands their language. Just don't go there!

We just saw this restaurant while walking and decided to try it with our two kids. The food we ordered were all really good especially the burger. The staff were nice to us (but funny how while paying this guy straightaway said “I’ll add the 10% service charge” 😆 Of the food wasn’t nice we would have said no but it was so it was a yes then. The place is good gor kids who are adventurous with trying new food. Prices of drinks IMO are too high. Prices in the menu were already in Euro. The place is clean espcially the toilets. Overall it’s a must try when in Prague.

The best restaurant by far while spending a few days in Prague. Can't fault this restaurant as everything was fantastic including a great variety on the menu. A lucky find as the restaurant is not fully visible from the street apart from a sign and long corridor to the entrance. Could not get in on Saturday so had to reserve by website for Monday night. You will not be disappointed.

It was a unique Czech dining experience with good wholesome food and great service.
