Restaurant is really worth your time. Traditional Czech food served with great beer. Nice outside seating area. Only thing to keep in mind is you are on a busy street right by the tram stop so outside can be loud at times. We got the venison sausage which was excellent burst with juice when you crack through the casing and well spiced to be just a bit hotter than the sweet peepers and mustard so that it stands out in any pairing. We also tried a sausage and sauerkraut soup that is now a new favorite soup of mine. Tangy and comforting with just a little heat great anytime of year. Finally the stuffed dumplings were heavy greasy and filling. Maybe not the best dish for the height of summer but I still enjoyed them. The pancetta like stuffing stands up well to the thick potato which has great texture to give a solid bite. This dish will get you through your day. Service was also really nice and fast the restaurant has lots of little comic scenes that liven it up. Totally worth a try.

We've had potato dumplings with smoked meet, spinach and fried onion, and beef goulash; everything was absolutely amazing, and very affordable, especially considering quality. The staff was extremely kind, even tried to get us the goulash recipe from the cook 😅 The place is so underrated, so here's a try to change it!

Nice place to have lunch with a company. There were plenty of spaces. Service was good. We enjoyed traditional Czech cuisine. We were asked to pay in cash, so if you go there probably it would be good to have some cash.

The owner of this restaurant is the same as the Restaurant u Vojvodu and there is not one thing that we have to say bad about them. Staff gets 10 out of 10, food as well, beer as well, everything here was perfect. If you wanna try traditional cuisine that this is a place for you.

A few days ago we were in Prague. After a whole day of walking around the city, we went to the hotel to rest a bit, but in the evening we got a little hungry. On Trip Advisor, we searched for the best restaurants and one of the first ones showed a Czechoslovak restaurant with 4.8 reviews, so we headed there. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, only a waiter and a waitress, and the two restaurants next to it were full of people. and one of them was U Švejků. It was around 9:50 p.m., and when we entered, the waiter immediately told us that the kitchen was open until 10:00 p.m. and the restaurant until 11:00 p.m., but since the restaurant was full, we could still order food. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great, so I would definitely recommend this restaurant..

Ordered a venison pate for appetizer and only managed to eat 1 piece. Main course is duck confit which is what I came for. It was good. Very reasonably priced.

Went there for a lunch. Fried chicken is very expensive and you get nothing with it. You have to order a side dish too and pay for it. We ordered potatoes and got very small amount of tasteless potatoes. Don't order chicken, you'll pay for it like it's a caviar. Duck confit was good. The staff were weird. Two women and a waiter. He looked like a hooligan, dressed in some kind of a jersey. While we ate, all three of them were staring at us all the time, we felt like we're in a horror movie. The waiter took my husband's plate while he was still chewing his last bite then he looked in my plate while I was still eating, it was extremly annoying and rude. Iced tea was served in a glass, probably poured from a large bottle. Very expensive establishment and terrible staff. Give people some privacy, learn some manners.

Poor customer service. We asked for some recommendations and waiter showed us the menu and said "you have everything there". I got some old dry food and not very good beer. At the end they tried to push us to leave some tip. No chance. Rude staff and old food. Not recommend at all.

Very nice location and great food, good service. It's cozy when there aren't many people. When there is - it is noisy and not very pleasant. There is no variety of dark beer - there is only Kozel, which is not good, and this beer can be easily found outside the Czech Republic. But overall the restaurant is good and worth it.

Best klobasa I had in Prague! The service was alright. The drinks were served promptly but the food took a little while. The prices were reasonable. I had an overall good experience 👍

They have traditional czech dishes and also international dishes. The waiter is very kind. Although it was not crowded the time it took to bring the dishes was too long.

Food is not bad, not too good. When you order the main course, with breaded cheese, dont expect anything more than breaded cheese. Where other restaurants give bread or fries with it, Svejk does not. When you want to pay with Euro or Dollars be wary, as they overcharge you 5 euro more than the actual price in crowns. Website says you can pay with card, but lady from service said you can not.

This place is a bit of a hit and miss. Had lunch there with a friend. Service was ok. Two soups - mine excellent, other not too good. Two mains - mine not too good, but friend had a duck and he liked it a lot. Overall pretty average experience and there are better Czech restaurants in the area for the same or lower prices.

The service was responsive and quick and the food came really quickly which was good. The food seems hit and miss. I got the pork knuckle and was a bit dry to be honest. Way too expensive for what was ordered. They also don't accept card. There are much better places you can go. Not too bad however

Price vs. quality is good. The food was delicious. However it's not possible to pay by card, unfortunately.
