We
arrived
at
22:00,
parked
in
the
hotel
parking,
and
entered
the
hotel
lobby,
which
was
beautiful
but
unfortunately
had
someone
playing
an
uncomfortably
loud
concert
piano
in
the
lounge.
The
room
we
were
given
initially
had
someone
else's
belongings
in
it.
The
staff
at
the
reception
desk,
who
seemed
stressed,
overworked
and
understaffed,
helped
to
resolve
this
issue
and
moved
us
to
another
room,
which
however
was
not
set
up
for
3
people
as
I
had
booked.
The
reception
and
housekeeping
staff
brought
additional
bedding
and
towels,
but
it
was
a
poor
start
to
our
stay.
We
received
cards
for
complementary
drinks
at
the
rooftop
bar
when
we
checked
in
initially
but
by
the
time
we
had
sorted
the
rooming
situation
out
the
bar
had
already
closed
(23:00).
The
rooms
and
halls
were
clearly
outdated,
and
the
elevators
were
very
small.
In
the
second
room,
the
bathroom
lighting
kept
flickering,
and
the
fixtures
in
the
bathtub
were
coming
loose
from
the
wall
and
also
difficult
to
switch
between
the
shower
and
bath
settings.
The
windows
were
similarly
difficult
to
open.
The
beds
were
reasonably
comfortable,
but
the
room's
cleanliness
was
lacking
-
one
of
the
windowsills
had
a
melted
hard
candy
on
it,
and
the
room
service/hotel
information
card
was
sticky
and
greasy
to
the
touch.
The
TV
was
disappointingly
small
(the
size
of
a
computer
monitor).
The
room
door
would
not
close
properly
(required
a
lot
of
force
to
close),
and
the
bathroom
door
would
not
stay
closed
or
lock
at
all.
The
hotel
breakfast
was
easily
the
best
part
of
the
stay,
but
did
not
make
up
for
the
rest
of
the
disappointment.
