The hotel has some very nice decor and being part of an old monetary is amazing. However there are some real draw backs to this hotel. For one, the hotel is on a busy road with fast moving trams going by constantly. Additionally the only guest entrance to the hotel (to the road) is narrow and the also the only entrance for cars. A few times when we left the hotel to see the sights, we were almost hit by cars speeding into the lot through the narrow passage. Additionally there is no safe way to cross the road and the hotel doesn’t have anyone out front to help. As for the rooms, king size beds are basically two twins put together and the pillows are smaller than more twin pillows. They don’t have king size pillows available. Lastly, the restaurant really needs help from a service perspective. We overhead many complains about bad communication and the time it takes to get meals in the restaurant. We experienced that first hand when it took an hour to get our breakfast on our last day, which was made incorrectly twice. Overall there are better hotels in Prague and I was disappointed that this was a Marriott luxury collection hotel. It did not live up to my expectations after staying at so many Marriott’s in my travels.

This is what you call LUXURY. This is an amazing hotel, from the moment you enter you are made to feel incredibly welcome and like a VIP. I attended an outdoor BBQ, best BBQ I have ever had the pleasure of being invited to attend. Made every other BBQ I have attended look amateur. The food was truly amazing but furthermore they made the barbecue look like a theatre. It was truly a pleasure to watch the chefs working away cooking amazing dishes. I can truly say I've never had lamb chop that tasted so succulent and full of flavour, beautiful. The halloumi was equally amazing. The food and drink selection was out of this world. The oysters, on another level. Food is a major part of any hotel stay for me, and this place totally took the food experience to another level. The staff were incredibly professional and friendly, excellent and truly amazing. Well done.

Luxury hotel in Prague. Located near the Prague castle. It's very small and narrow entrance. The lobby decoration is beautiful. It's like resort style. There is breakfast buffet available. small garden to visit. Gym and spa is available as well. Nice little bar. good food. There is a beer that make only in this hotel. it's like dark beer.

We were with a Viking River Cruise upgraded hotel. We were in the Viking wing right next to the Trolly which ran from 5am to Midnight every day. Could only get 5 hours sleep a night because of the noise from the trolly. Afternoon nap not possible. If you wanted a quiet room you needed to pay for the upgrade. The breakfast Buffet was fantastic. The room and the grounds were lovely. The location, location, location was perfect.

The Augustine Hotel in Prague truly stands out as an exceptional place to stay. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warm and attentive service from the staff, always available, ready to assist with any request, making the entire experience feel personalized and special. Dining at the hotel was a highlight of my stay, their restaurant offers an array of dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. Breakfast was a delightful start to the day, featuring a variety of high-quality options and dinner, on the other hand, was an exquisite experience, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavors that showcase the culinary expertise of the chefs. Each room is uniquely designed, blending historical charm with modern luxury, the attention to detail in the decor is remarkable, creating a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly comfortable and inviting.

A lovely hotel in general. Loved our suite with a view very much. Concierge and the front office team were great. The festive amenity placed in the lobby was a very nice touch (sweets and mulled wine). However, there were a few things that I wish the hotel could have improved. I love that the breakfast had a semi buffet and a la carte, however the staff would only send everything you order together, even if you ask them to send the fruit platter and yogurt first, then the hot dishes later. They ignored what we asked, and still sent everything all at once, so we had to let the hot dishes wait, if we wish to start with fruit and yogurt. Besides, the whole table was full of food. Not sure why they do it this way. In addition, the semi buffet looked really nice on the first day, however if it remained entirely the same the next day, it is boring. Last but not least, I wish the hotel can place more free water bottles in the room. 2 bottles a day is just not enough!

We stayed here recently on our trip to Prague and this was a magical location. It was right in the middle of all the old areas but ironically also "off the beaten track". It had it's own courtyard that could be deadly for vehicles and difficult when getting a ride on Bolt (they don't actually come into the courtyard, you have to meet them outside). But the staff were absolutely amazing and the room was one of the best we had in Eastern Europe. The bed was nice and comfortable and the bathroom was just spectacular.

Gorgeous, historic hotel located in the Lesser Town (Mala Strana) with impeccable service. Absolutely recommend the Augustine for both tourists and business travelers as it's both historic but gorgeously remodeled, and accessibly located but also tucked away. Booked a Deluxe Guest Room, 2 twins for three nights Room: The room was spacious (~400 sq ft) featuring plush beds with nightstands, TV on stand containing a mini-fridge, sturdy desk with chair, and a reading lounge chaise by the window. There is a small foyer area with a full-length and closet. The bathroom features dual vanities, toilet and bidet, and soaking tub that had curtains to also use as a shower. Our room being on the third floor (former attic) featured only one window in the room (and one in the bathroom) and the ceilings felt a little-bit cramped, was otherwise extremely comfortable with the finishings feeling very high-end. I will note that our room was facing the street, which was noisy at night whenever the train rumbled through. Facilities: The hotel featured a recently remodeled (during COVID) lobby area with check-in counters incorporating likeness of the Prague astronomical clock, a full suite of spa and treatment services, an exercise room serving a excellent ginger tea, it's own restaurant, and bar. We were treated like royalty by the breakfast staff (in particular Aneesh and Ana). The breakfast spread at the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous; from numerous pastries and fresh fruit, to organic honey and jams along with potential to order a la carte dishes (see photos of eggs benedict, breakfast salad, french toast, chocolate crepe, etc.). The refractory still serves a beer brewed by the monastery since the 13th century. The hotel does not have a concierge (executive / M) lounge. Due to its historic architecture, the entrance can be hard to miss. Service: All of the staff at the Augustine were excellent. We felt at-home from the moment we walked in the restaurant. Location: The Augustine is located in Lesser Town, which is a short drive to Prague Castle and 10-15 minute walk to historic Charles Bridges, close to the acclaimed Astronomical Clock and Old Town Square. The hotel is also conveniently located near several embassies, excellent food options, right next to the Senate and Prague Castle Gardens, and St Nicholas Church.

Beautiful hotel at the base of the Prague Castle. The location is a very convenient walk to the Charles Bridge, shopping, and numerous restaurants. The staff is super accommodating and most gracious. The breakfast was amazing. In fact, my 13 year old said the pancakes are the best he has had in his life! We highly recommend The Augustine for your visit to Prague.

We spent 5 nights here during our 1st overseas trip since the pandemic & what a fantastic way to end it! Staff was wonderful, room was beautiful (& we could hear Christmas carols from the lovely church choir on the Sunday) & while we only ate one breakfast & a late lunch there, the food we had was excellent. The location is perfect too, so quiet but only steps from so many great sites & beautiful views of Prague Castle. Just one thing to note, I was really looking forward to seeing the library there, but they only offer tours of it on Thursdays (makes perfect sense as the monks use it, but if you’d like to see it be sure to plan your stay accordingly). Thanks so much for a truly wonderful stay!

This hotel is amazing. The staff is very friendly and greet all guest coming and going. They allowed me to practice my Czech language with them. The breakfast is amazing. Wife loved the pancakes and waffles. If you are looking for luxury in the heart of Prague, this is it. The bathrooms have amazing heated floors. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. I have nothing buy 5 star reviews for this place.

Stayed in a junior suite which was very nice! A good size and well presented. High standard of furnishings and superb quality bathroom. The buffet breakfast was excellent and also includes an additional "cooked to order" menu - probably one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had! Would recommend the Augustine Benedict (2 poached eggs), the Hungarian Goulash, or simple cheese and ham omlet. All cooked perfectly. One minor criticism. It was hit and miss as to whether the doorman would open the main door for us. Sometimes he was preoccupied (on his phone!) or he just wasn't around! Not normally an issue as we were normally together so I would open the door, but my wife did struggle with the heavy doors when she was on her own!

Had our wedding reception here last week- and it was PERFECT. The food was outstanding, as was the service. The events manager was wonderful, and patient with us figuring out seating arrangements, decor, music, etc. Very helpful to say the least. Service went off without a hitch, and the bartender (Jan I believe?) was awesome. 10/10 venue and so much fun - highly reccomend! Thanks again guys!

Luxurious! This place is beautiful. The rooms so comfortable. We had a great sleep here, the beds just right and the pillows, I wanted to take them with me! It was very peaceful, the city noise just disappeared. We had a lovely view of the courtyard. After touring Prague it was wonderful to come back here. The breakfast was simply the best. It had everything hot, cold, eggs and bacon, meat and cheese, everything one could wish for. The staff are amazing and really made the stay. They welcomed us and wanted to help in anyway possible. A stay here is never the wrong decision!

Best hotel in Praha thus far! Incredibly close to everything but yet secluded and private. Beautiful property. Very friendly and professional staff. Breakfast is a must! Skip the buffet and order from the menu card - outstanding selection. Definitely coming back here!

An incredibly beautiful hotel in the most perfect location in Prague. Although the hotel is very pretty what makes the stay so enjoyable is the fabulous service and staff. Everything is incredibly clean during this lingering covid time. Michal, the concierge will WhatsApp you before your stay to make any reservations for you. He was so welcoming and full of great advice. The restaurant and bar are also wonderful. I'd highly recommend making time to enjoy a cocktail or savoring a delicious meal. I'd give this resort and its staff a 10 star review if possible.

A beautiful hotel with great staff! We stayed here for our wedding and they helped us get my dress and the grooms tuxedo steamed/ironed the day before. They were incredibly kind and their service is unbeatable. In today's world Luxury hotels sometimes don't feel like it...not in the case of the Augustine! It is pricey but we are so happy with our stay and so were our guests who stayed at the hotel.

Hi , the hotel very nice atmosphere and contemporary design and part of very old monastery, we didn’t know that till we seen the concierge with a group from out side the hotel explaining about it and we ask Michel (concierge) he said not everyday the tour available, we had to come at 10 am and try our luck ! The breakfast in a nice place over see a courtyard , service is good , the house keeping very stingy we were 2 in the room and we ask her for extra shower gel and she gave us 1 piece lol, the concierge recommended a Czech restaurant was of the worst restaurant I ever tried , he is not good at recommendations and when we ask him to change our booking in Italian restaurant at four season he never called back to confirm again we called the reception to do it , when we checked in , I been offered an upgrade becasue am platinum member with Marriott, but the room has a small window no sunlight facing the roof ropes of other buildings ! The worst things u had to go out from the hotel entrance and pay attention to the tram not to run you very dangerous they should put a sign or give a notice ahead .

Absolutely beautiful hotel in historical part of Prague located just under the Prague castle. Good check in experience, staff very friendly and professional. Our room was cozy and with stunning view to the castle and the monastery that is part of the hotel complex. Breakfast served in courtyard was good and the staff was able to assist us with our dietary requirements (vegan). Definitely place to stay when in Prague to enjoy the city.

Beautiful and historic in a quiet part of Prague. Extremely clean and rooms are large. Hotel offers an amazing breakfast including delicious coffee. Trolly stop is very close and you can get anywhere quickly and cheap. Hotel staff were so helpful with directions. We could even purchase trolly tickets at the front desk. Appreciated the heated bathroom floors after a full day of touring.

Great hotel, which we appreciated more as we experienced other hotels on our same trip through Europe. I am a fan of Marriott hotels and scheduled for 7 hotels on this trip, and this was the best one so far (out of 5). The grounds are immaculate. These monastery buildings were renovated and opened as a hotel in 2009 (if I recall correctly), and they look brand new. The room was large and immaculate. The bathroom was all marble, large, and sparkling. This was a regular room too. The staff was really nice. The tall doorman (sorry big guy did not get the name) at the front was always ready to open the entrance door or help out. Unfortunately, we did not get to try any of the on-site food/drinks so can't comment but visited the bar and it looked nice. Took the monastery tour and it was definitely worth the time. Both the head monk and the concierge that accompanied us were very kind. The location was perfect. 5 minutes from the Bridge and the old town while in the heart of the Lesser Town. So very close to everything on both sides of the river. Last but not least, the hotel pulls off being a great luxury hotel without being pretentious, which is the biggest pitfalls of luxury hotels for someone like me who does not like the stuffiness that comes with them.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel for my 50th. The level of professionalism and service was bar none. Made us feel so welcome and special - absolutely amazing location that is walking distance to all attraction. Hospitality at its best. 100% recommended.

What a lovely stay! 💯🥂. Staff is friendly, attentive, helpful and will help you with transportation. The staff at this hotel will walk the extra mile for you. My room was comfortable and very spacious. I had 2 bathrooms. I loved walking in my room to find sleepers, a treat and water. The breakfast buffet is A+. You can find such a variety and leave without an empty tummy. Do not forget to go to their bar and try that St Thomas beer sold only there. It was exquisite indeed!

This is a great hotel (and I am picky). I’ve stayed here many times and like it more and more each time. The building is beautiful and has been modernised in a very sympathetic way. The rooms are very comfortable, many of them have lovely views, they are all very large. The staff are all very very nice - thank you! It is in a great location, in one of the most picturesque parts of Prague, and very close to the metro.

Wonderful hotel, excellent location, and fabulous service. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was exceptional. The welcome champagne and the beer in the room with an explanation of the relevance to the hotel was a nice touch as well. The concierge was extremely helpful in recommending places for lunch, and helping us plan out our sightseeing.

A sincere and kudos to the chef! Oh my. A near close to Michelin. Just fantastic and bold combinations. A drink menu to match. Lacking and lacking greatly. Service. Curt and not friendly nor overly professional. No rundown of the menu nor pairing or drinks or wine. Just almost rude. The service broke the mood of the vibe and food. It was sincerely disappointing. A well traveled couple who loves to be light hearted found it kind of depressing to be honest. The chef made the place. And we definitely recommend this place for the food and we'll made cocktails.

Hands down the most luxurious and best place my wife and I ever stayed. We were here almost a whole week and couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay at in the heart of Prague! Walking distance to the Charles Bridge was perfect!

Great experience 👍 overall. Prosecco at check in! Great rooms, great service, great bar, great people. The only not great was coffee during breakfast, not the best and long waiting time, and u may not even get one. Will definitely come back and highly recommend

Great hotel, amazing staff, and wonderful location. Cons we faced: - Not the best soundproofing, you will hear noises from 9am either in the hallway or above the room. - Bed was not comfortable (maybe because they put two twin beds as one king bed)

Absolutely amazing hotel! This place is steeped in history...from the working monastery onsite to the views of the centuries old Prague Castle located on the hill overlooking the hotel. The hotel had beautiful grounds, lovely interiors, and of course A+ service that I always receive at Marriott hotels. They hit all the marks. Even prior to my arrival, the concierge Caterina sent me a list of restaurants in the area, and transportation options. I sent her my selections and times and she made all reservations for me. She arranged for a private car and they were there to greet me with a sign at arrivals. She also gave a small group of us a private tour of the monastery and hotel. The tower suite, its largest one, had three floors (living room, bathroom, bedroom) with steep spiral stairs between. The bedroom at the top offered 360 views of Prague Castle and surroundings. This more than made up for it's smaller size. I stayed in the Castle Suite which was spacious, with heated bathroom floors, and amazing views of Prague Castle. I was quite pleased with it. The food was so delicious (I had the lightest tempura shrimp you can imagine, delicious Belgian waffles). I can't cover everything in this review, but it was a truly luxury experience.

One of the best experiences in a hotel I have ever had. The room was perfect. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful view of the cathedral, it was magical in early evening. The hotel itself was beautiful and had a rich history that was interesting to learn more about. On top of all of that, it was a great location. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved the Augustine. Every staff member I met from the bell desk to reception to food service was kind and helpful. The property is a gem, a carefully remodeled 13th Century monastery with plenty of historic charm and intrigue. From here, it was an easy walk to a square with outdoor patios and pubs, and the Wallenstein Gardens (Walled Gardens) are right next door in the opposite direction. My room had surprising modern touches and was incredibly comfortable. I enjoyed a fabulous dinner of the most delicious borscht, homemade spaghetti, and basil sorbet in the hotel garden, then had the best sleep in months. Highly recommended for a getaway.

We stayed here for our anniversary and the hotel was perfect. the staff were all incredible, the location is walkable to nearly everything and the concierge was very helpful. they even surprised us with champagne and fruit as a welcome gift in honor of our anniversary. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and will stay there anytime I return to Prague. P.S. Reach out to the hotel before hand, and they will arrange a car service to pick you up at the airport for a fair price.

I would not give this hotel 5*. There is strictly no food after 22:00, no bar, no room service. Extremely limited parking in the entrance area sufficient for 8 cars only. And the beds are not exactly new… Dated and in need of refresh

  • 5/5 William C. 1 year ago on Google
I absolutely adored this hotel. The design is magnificent and the staff are lovely. My room was spacious, incredibly laid out and it was apparent they went to great lengths to design the various touches. It was genuinely such a peaceful, warm experience. The only con was that its entrance was tucked next to tram lines, which were quite dangerous and annoying to navigate as a pedestrian and using non-taxi services such as rideshare/Bolt.

Beautiful Hotel with amazing vistas of the city and the Prague Castle. Convenient to historical landmarks and home of some of the best dark beer brewed by monks.

Stay occurred over a 5 night period early April 2022. Full Disclosure: I have Marriott Bonvoy elite status and used Suite night upgrade. Upon arrive at the St. Augustine, we were greeted warmly and offered an Interior Monastery Suite. The size was perfect, but the peace and tranquility of the suite was beyond our expectations. To hear the church bells and the birds chirping made for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was not the best within Bonvoy properties (as compared to the Middle East) but it was not bad. Ms. Anastasia and her Manager were very friendly every morning for breakfast, as was Mr. Patel in the reception. The Concierge (Mr. Peter) also deserves special recognition for the wonderful tour of the hotel. Definitely one of the high end properties, great location and great stay!
