I didn't stay at your hotel but passing by today witnesst something appaling that realy shoke me. Doorman with a police force tactical expandable baton realy agresivly swinging it on a homles preson, insulting him and trethening him! I actualy tought he is going to realy hurt him. He was not even at your door but on the street in front of the hotel. I was just wondering is that your policy to treat lees fortunate like that? Is it your polcy to have weapon like that to hit them? You cant just nicely aks them to go away? I think you should reevaluate your aproch to people. Just the fact that you have something that police uses in force and swing it at people like that answers all my questions! This is a discrase! I'm never comming to your hotel!

**TERRIBLEST SERVICE EVER!** The house keeper accidentally took away our pajamas when changing sheets. We reached the reception desk for help. However, the staffs were not only reluctant to help but also made a bunch of excuses to judge it was our mistake that we couldn’t find the pajamas in our room. Especially the reception desk staff woman with the glasses, she is the worst staff ever! In the end, they finally found our pajamas but only simply said sorry to us. WITHOUT ANY FURTHER COMPENSATE! Not worth 4stars hotel, not recommend the hotel at all if you want to have a good service at this hotel. — UPDATE: The reply person on the google review is the same rude and tried nothing to solve the situation. Your sorry is not genuine and very cheap. I can totally understand now why your all employees are all that rude!

I found it really hard to rate this hotel. We give it 4 stars, because of the price we paid, but the hotel has many shortcomings. First of all, we booked at Occidental Praha Five but after arriving there they said there was a technical error on the junior suite floor and therefore they had to move us to this Occidental hotel. This one is really out of the way compared to Praha Five, so it was a little disappointing. The reception said we got an upgrade to a Junior Suite, but we already booked a junior suite. Then we got to the room, finding a double bed instead of the twin room we requested. After going to reception about this issue, they had to downgrade us to an Executive room on the highest floor. We only accepted it because of the low price. We could have been in a junior suite in Praha Five, but now we were in a downgraded room on a much worse location. They did nothing to compensate the downgrade, no free drink or anything. Though, the staff at reception was pretty friendly. When we arrived in our Executive room, we found the following things positive: -Really clean -Modern design -Comfortable beds -Great view from the 14th/13th floor But there were a lot of things that weren't great in this room: -Open bathroom design (only fun if you are a couple) -Small room, no room to store your luggage or unpack your luggage. It was all very tight. -No coffee maker in an Executive room?? The junior suite did have a coffee machine with little cups -The twin beds were rollaway beds, one of them would constantly move -For a chain as Barcelo, i would have expected a fully featured TV with multiple entertainment options like Chromecast, YouTube, room service etc. but the TV, while large, only had some TV channels. (Courtyard by) Marriott for example does this much better. -No vanity mirror -Wallpaper started peeling on multiple places Also the building itself feels really cheaply built. Bad sound isolation, could hear other rooms and constantly people taking the lifts. Speaking of the lifts, also really cheaply built lifts. Slow, they shake a lot on the higher floors, very small. Only three (slow) lifts for a 13 story building. I also find that the hotel itself is really boring. The reception area really feels like a simple 2005 Spanish hotel.

The hotel is located okay , and when you enter you think . This gonna be a nice stay . But wait it will turn around . First we got the wrong room , second our fridge dindt work , so for the first and second day we had a warm frigde. The women at counter was so rude , and try to convenience me that the fridge should not be cold cus it was a mini bar ? 🤣 So we had to store drinks not food the frigde in the hotel kitchen .... But the saddest thing at the hotel is the service and the receptionist, havnt smiled or said Hey or good morning in the 3 days we been here so far, i strongly recommend that you find another hotel , sincerely best regards stefano moreno

I would rate it as a 0 star hotel. The cleanliness is terrible, also I found some insects in my room. The staff does not cooperate when needed. The room was a whole another story, the mini fridge is not cold, the shower was cracked and the sink was stained. I had a terrible experience, I do not recommend this hotel.

The dinner situation is a sad sad comedy piece. Dinner starts at 7 pm and finishes at 9. The previous night we went to eat dinner at 8. Food was running low, there isn't much to choose from to begin with either. Alright, no problem we thought, we will go earlier. We were waiting around the dining hall at 6:58-ish with the doors closed. We waited 5-8-10 minutes, doors still closed. Then I went to the reception to ask what's the matter, where the dinner is going to be. The receptionist didn't know, she had to ask her colleague. She didn't know either so went away to ask someone else. When she came back, she explained that it's going to be somewhere else. We went there. At 7:10(!) we went to open the containers and picked ourselves food. Cheese in breadcrumbs in particular. We, the 3 men took out all except one, because we were hungry. (We also took stew and something else. These were all the main dishes) The man behind us took the last. After that, the waiter took a look at it, checked that it's empty. They are going to replace it. So we thought. My mother ate soup for first, that turned out to be a mistake because she couldn't eat anything. We ended up having to give her the cheese because she really isn't fond of meat. They just simply didn't replace the cheese at all. Poof, gone. So by 7:10, just 10 minutes the dinner started, one of the main dishes from the 3 was already gone. Horrendous. Don't ever pay for dinner here. A disgrace to the whole industry. Breakfast is perfectly fine. Staff is generally nice. Receptionist don't know what they are doing. At all. At least they can understand English. The rooms aren't too soundproof. And you have to be comfortable with who you stay with, because the toilet and the shower has translucent walls at some places and you can see everything if the light is on.

Rooms are ok but poorly soundproofed. You hear everything of your neighbours. My room was towards the street. Even with closed window it was noisy. My bed was worn. And there was motion sensor at the toilet which switches on light at night which is not good at all for falling asleep again. Breakfast is good!

Stayed in Hotel Occidental for 1 night. Big clean rooms, friendly staff, breakfast offers large variety of choices and food is very good. Metro station Budejovika is 10 minutes walking and connects the hotel with the city centre.

A lovely and modern hotel. Approx 20 mins in an Uber to the main attractions in Prague. Nothing around the hotel as such, so Uber is your best way of getting around. Room was clean and fresh. Bed was huge and so comfy. Only issue was the noise level from the corridor was awful. Really thin walls. People aren't capable of closing doors, it seems, doors slamming from 5.30am was a bit of an annoyance. Maybe that's just me being stupidly picky! Ha! Overall, a pleasant stay.

Hotel is lovely and clean with comfy beds. Staff are nice and helped us get a taxi into the old town as its abit far to walk. Only issue we are having is getting tea and coffee sachets for the room that we're not refilled, ask and keep getting coffee pods when we only have a kettle, ask for tea and we get fruit tea - possibly just a language barrier problem but these should of been refilled while the room got done. Served cold food tonight in the bar area because too much focus is on the main buffet, but the writer was apologetic about this. Would stay again but the English need their tea bags, maybe tomorrow!

Rooms are nice, double bed is huge! Breakfast is always varied and abundant. Even after 2 weeks, still enjoyable. Staff is friendly. Location wise, it is a good 5 min walk from Budejovicka Metro C. View is also very nice. Only thing which I believe could be improved is the gym.

I've been to many hotels before, and I'd say the welcome experience, as well as the entire check-in/check-out process at Occidental Praha was by far the most enjoyable one :) I can't remember the names, but I do remember the exceptional kindness of each and every member of the hotel staff I had a chance to talk to. The staff is very, very polite, professional and helpful. Our room was impeccably clean and tidy. The bed was quite comfortable. Breakfast here is excellent, lots of options to choose from. We absolutely enjoyed our time at Occidental Praha.

Very poor service quality. 1. Staff at the reception desk cannot use "Hallo", "Please", "Thank you" or wish you a pleasant stay. The communication skills of the reception desk staff are terrible. Instead of "Your ID, please" I hear only "ID!" etc. Smiling or eye contact is probably provided for an extra charge. Nobody asks me if I need parking or explain where I can find my hotel room (where are the elevators, what is the floor of my room). 2. The heating is during the night completely switched off. I understand energy savings but in such a case I would expect to have additional blankets available. If you wake up in the middle of the night because of feeling cold, it is not fine either in 4* hotel. 3. I asked for the invoice for my stay. Lady at the reception desk proposed to send it to me by e-mail. Although the hotel has my e-mail address she asks me for the e-mail again. OK, I can understand it. Unfortunately, there is still no invoice more than 24 hrs after checkout. The service level of this hotel is a maximum 3*, it has nothing to do with 4*. This was my first and for sure the last visit and do not recommend staying here.

  • 2/5 Michele M. 7 months ago on Google
The place is actually not bad, rooms are new, but the staff looks improvised (actually, the receptionists were also rather unfriendly, but I can get over it as long as they do a good job, not the case). I stayed 3 nights, and one of the days my room was left undone (for me unaccpetable for a 4 stars hotel). When I informed the receptionsits of the fact, they looked at me as if I was just annoying, and said "ok" (not even a "sorry"). The first night, the bartender "accidentally" tried to make me pay 25 euros instead of 17, with no receipt (in fact I realized it was 17 only when I insisted for the recepit). But at least he apologized for the mistake, so I will take that for good. Location is not perfect, need to get a metro, so if you intend to stay out for the night, you must play the Cinderella, getting home before midnight, or spend another 300 crowns for taxis. Overall, my colleagues paid just a little more (10-15 euros more per day) and stayed in other different hotels at walking distance from city center and were happy. I cannot say the same.

We just came back from our trip to Prague, were we stayed at Occidental Praha. It was a very pleasant stay. The room was impeccable clean, very warm, cleaning lady cleaned up every day even though it wasn't needed. The reception desk employees were very very nice, and even recommended us resorts with spa's or what to do in Prague. Breakfast was fresh, plenty and tasty. The food was really good and the restaurant very Clean. We really loved the hotel. And already booked it again for the summer. After our wedding, before our honeymoon, we will be spending a couple of days in Prague. And we chosed Occidental Praha again. Best regards, Andreea and Bernhard

The hotel is pretty nice and everything was clean. The breakfast was definitely worth it bc there was plenty of choice. The downsides were that the Wi-Fi didn’t work most of the time and it’s located around 20-30min from the city center by public transport, but the public transport is convenient so it’s all right. All in all still would recommend.

Hotel has 0 standards, I booked a transfer with them from the airport to the hotel at a price of 38 euros. Then on checkout they said they updated their prices and its now 50 euros. Unacceptable behaviour from a hotel chain like this. Hotel staff were also very rude and overall low quality service. My room was also very hot and air conditioning did not work properly. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

Booked a superior room for 4 nights, room is just like a basic one. I was served cold food in the bar as most of the staffs attention was on the buffet in the other room Language barrier was a problem when I was trying to explain what a coffee sachet is The breakfast buffet was madness everyone all crammed in together no personal space

I had to wait more than 15 mins to check in with a 8 month baby on hands, after that I went to our room and the key did not worked. I went Back to the reception and told them the issue and they said you have to pay?!? Couldn't they say it before I go to the apartment with the baby after the 20 min check in? Double room is insufficient for 2 persons. I've been to many hotels and for this price it's not good value for money. If anyone visit the rest room during the night, the whole room will be awaken. No ventilation in bathroom or in the wc. Positives are good breakfast (one of the best I've ever had) and the parking which is payed. Overall I won't recommend this hotel.

Very warm rooms due to non functional AC, fridge also has no cooling function, soft beds and actually the beds are not really connected to each other - building has eighties charme direct next to cemetary and quite loud as next to 2 big streets. Overall not my 1st choice!

Hello, I was staying at this hotel some days ago and it was amazing! The staff is great, the girls from the reception Mariia and Xenia were very friendly. The room was clean and good smells. So I definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent service. Rooms kept clean and spotless and cleaning staff seem to be on all day so happy to wait for you to go out. Very helpful staff - first day gave advice about getting around Prague with public transport using PID app. Breakfast superb - every thing you can imagine and more and constantly topped up so if you are late you still have all the same choice. Great location - a few minutes walk to the subway, or bus stops right outside. Czech transport very easy and cheap so all Prague sights easily accessible. Much quieter part of town and rooms cheaper. Highly recommended.

Reception service: 9/10 Location: 7/10 Architecture / Facilities : 7/10 Panoramic views: 8/10 Quality / Price: 9/10 Smart and simple hotel, with a professional team that can help you in a perfect Spanish, English and French. The breakfast and restaurant are ok. Not far away to the to the city center. Just in the corner of avenue close to a forestry graveyard is a quiet place. Recommended for a weekend in Praha or an stay for business.

i'm on vacation with my wife and it's disappointing that there can't be a big single bed they only have 2 small beds put together even though i booked in advance. unfortunately i need a good sleep with a comfortable bed it has grooves that make my back uncomfortable the air conditioning in the room can't be customized i cant sleep and it was a really bad experience

The staff ist really nice and they have a great breakfast to keep you full for a couple of hours. I was a little irritated by the electricity in the room, since there was a lot of flickering, but nothing to worry about. What I didn’t like at all was that the staff didn’t care for their guests to provide a vacc certificate or a neg test, nor did they care for the guests wearing masks when walking along the breakfast room. My partner and I didn’t feel comfortable, as most of the people touched several items at the breakfast counter, put them back and, as I said, didn’t wear masks. It’s the hotel’s responsibility to meet the hygienic standards during a pandemic and this hotel unfortunately didn’t meet the standards…

A good place to stay in Prague

  • 2/5 Ron M. 2 years ago on Google
It was the first hotel where the windows where blinded. The lamp in the toilet was broken, reported five Times en in the app still pending to be fixed when leaving the hotel. The shower was overflowing in the room, fixed after two days complaining. The cleaning was an absolute nightmare, the bedsheets were not clean and only replaced aftee four days of complaining (and we removed Them by ourselfs). Coffee was 1 month over the expired date. After two days of complaining we found 20 sachets all over the room. Beds were getting apart and even found socks of former customers which we put under the bed. So if you Stay in room 510, have a look... Maybe they are still laying there... Shower amandeties... After two days of asking we went down and ask for new one and then we get them... Babybed... Requested at check-in, delivered after FOUR days. It was so dirty and dangerous we didn't put the baby in... The price was (after we found it elsewhere cheaper) good and the AC very good. But if there was any staff involved it became soon a nightmare...

Typical 4 star EU hotel. For some reason I was asked to pay for parking and breakfast again at check out, despite I'd paid in advance upon checking in, but the issue was resolved. Rooms are clean and in good shape. The view is nice, as this is a tower like building. Staff was friendly and easy to communicate with. Breakfast is acceptable quality I'd say it was good but not exceptional. Parking is not free but I always found a spot. Room heating operation is a bit confusing, I could only circulate cold air, so probably it was switched off (early autumn). Not a big issue, I could manage without it.

  • 3/5 D. S. 1 year ago on Google
Staff is friendly and helpful but not very courteous. Room is standard equipped. But, the "bed" isn't really a bed but rather mattresses on a frame with wheels. And it will move with every move you make. AC worked but isn't nearly enough when there is 30 + degrees outside. Breakfast has several options to choose from. And staff is very quick to refill once any food is about to be empty. But quality varies on a daily basis and it gets quite chaotic once a lot of people wanna attend the breakfast room at the same time. So I think organizing the breakfast has room for improvement. All in all had a nice stay but probably wouldn't go again. Sorry to say but this is not a 4 star hotel.

The location is a bit too far from the city centre but there is metro 10min walk from the hotel so its not too bad, the staff are helpful and know English well. The gym is a bit disappointing because there are only 4 cardio machines and no weights. Rooms were clean and tidy, the design of the shower area could be better as you have to open the door and let the cold air get in as you get a towel and your clothes. The ac in the rooms was really weak and we had to open the window at night. The conversation area was nice with coffee machines and water with marinated lemons. The food in the buffet was good but not really diverse from day to day.

  • 3/5 Tatiane B. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel ist nice and clean. There's a cemitery right behind it. No one seems to care about covid anymore. No one even asked if we are vaccinated. People walk around without masks - even at the opened breakfast buffet. At the restaurant there's not even 10cm distance between the tables and the workers that wear a mask, wear with the nose outside. 35€/night/dog - with nothing included! All in all, we were OK when in the room, outside was too uncomfortable and we felt too exposed.

Great Place to stay. Clean and good rooms. Nice staff and an incredible great breakfast with huge possibilities of selection. The view in the upper floors is wonderful.

Nice, modern hotel, very close to the metro. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast, with a good selection of foods. No lunch menu unfortunately. Only sandwiches or small snacks. Food served after 5pm, but only a few choices, however, it's about 10 mins to the metro, and in 5 very short stops you are in the centre of prague, where there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Comfortable beds, and rooms cleaned every day. Room a little compact, with limited storage for clothes, but otherwise, modern and comfortable. Only English speaking channels on the t.v. are Sky News and CNN, if that's important to you, but most people will be too busy enjoying Prague to have time to watch t.v. No air conditioning while we were there, as they only have it on during the summer months. We were there last week (March).Room was still very warm at night. Overall, would recommend this hotel if you want to stay a bit out of the centre, but still be able to easily travel in and out. The metro journey itself is less than 10 mins. Clean, comfortable and convenient, but not for those who are looking for night life in their hotel, as it's very quiet.

Disaster this time… Missing some equipments in the room but OK… Providing broken iron (obviously broken) but OK… Noisy if you stay from the road side but OK… (even at 8th floor window closed). However, the AC was not working and I asked the reception 3 times and each single time they confirmed they would be switching it on from central after my call (you cannot control it from the rooms it is locked). 4th time and the day after. I came at the reception again as it was really too hot in the room. The same man finally told me after 4th attemps that the AC did not work. I asked a solution he just replied first that there was no solution and all rooms would be like this and so that I could open the window. After I insisted he accepted to change my room. I simply asked him why since yesterday he just told me by phone that he would switch on the AC and it would ok 3 times I called…his answer was not clear… very disappointed of the customer service provided by this hotel.

The hotel was great, friendly staff. The only thing that I didn’t like was the view, there is a cemetery right in front of the building, but apart from that it was nice.

  • 3/5 Daniel 1 year ago on Google
Rooms were nice, reception area nice. Quite a bit of distance from the city centre but that's down to myself for booking here. Beds were comfy, however the windows are paper thin. I was on the 7th floor and could hear people talking from the traffic lights, hear cars as if the window was on a night lock, woke up cold some mornings so either the windows are terrible and paper thin or they don't shut properly, I tried shutting it numerous times and it seemed shut but I think they're paper thin windows compared to other hotels I've been in. The doors banging from other people on the building was frustrating as well, especially at 1-2am. Overall, it was an ok stay. Probably would not stay here again though.

Me and my girlfriend were enjoying our stay there, the view from our room was fantastic, beds comfy and the breakfast was also quite good. It’s a good place to stay if you don’t want to be too close to the city square and still it’s easy to get there by Uber or metro.
