It's always been my dream since I was a teenager to visit Prague! My wonderful girlfriend and I took a weekend trip to visit Prague, staying at Hotel NH Collection Prague Carlo IV. We were extremely impressed. We bussed in, and the hotel was within walking distance of main bus station. A weird quirk was that when we would search for the hotel on our phones, it would give us directions to the wrong place. Not sure what's up with that, so might want to double check that you're going to the right place. When we first arrived, we had a great first impression. The hotel is grand, magnificent, very clean, and the receptionists greeted us warmly with a smile. We could tell we wouldn't have any issues, as we saw the employees happily helping other guests, and I cannot stress enough just how nice everyone was. The hotel is very impressive. Our room was very spacious, comfortable bed, bathroom was nice, everything is good. Only problem was that in this first room, we were having issues with the door, it wasn't closing properly. We went downstairs and told the people at the front desk, and they promptly resolved the issue and set us up in another room, even offering to carry our bags to the new room. Again, the room was equally impressive. We chose to have breakfast in the hotel, which was the right choice, wide selection of yummy options, all the classics are there, croissants, hams, cheeses, omelets, salads, coffee and tea. Quality was good! We even had a couple drinks at the bar. It took a while to get our drinks, a bit odd since we were the only customers and there were two bartenders, it took maybe 15 minutes to get the drinks. But we didn't mind, they have a pianist come in and play beautiful music! I cannot emphasize enough just how nice and magnificent everything is! The location is also great, within walking distance of all the pretty sights in Old Town, and the time it rained, we had no problem getting an Uber to drive us around. Another thing we really liked was all the small things, for example, they have umbrellas next to the front door that you can freely take in case it rains (unfortunately we forgot to do this). All in all, our stay at Carlo IV helped make our trip to Prague magical.

We spent last few days in this hotel. It was enough to get to know the city, but also to experience the great hospitality of the whole team. This is one of the best 5 star hotels we have visited. I do not want to describe the appearance/style of the hotel, because it is highly subjective whether someone likes it or not. What is definitely worth emphasizing is the location (it is very close to the new center of Prague and the old town) and service. The staff was always willing to help and open to requests. Which doesn't mean they were imposing. They were just where&when they should be :) Honestly, we had very different experiences with hotels in Czechia and especially with the approach to foreigners (unfortunately often negative). None of these concerns have been fulfilled at this hotel. I'm really happy we had a chance to visit Carlo IV hotel. Once again huge thank you to Mr Mario from the Guest Relations team and the entire hotel crew.

This is definitely not a 5* hotel. Maybe 10 years ago was but at this point most rooms and facilities needs a renovation: - rooms are small and outdated - lights in bathroom are not working properly and looks hideous - bathrobe looks worse than in 3* hotels (rough and jagged) - poor water pressure and no hot water after few minutes under the shower - disgusting limescale - in first room matters was deformed The SPA and Pool zone is poorly lighted- don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about chill out vibe etc. I’m talking about not working pool lights and hanging cables under the water or strong wall-light hitting your eyes during “relax” time. The worst and most dangerous part is that there are no lights under the water and no caution signs about how to enter the “jacuzzi bed”. I saw a lady who thought that jacuzzi bed is a regular jacuzzi and she fell so hard on the floor. The same issue with area with high pressure nozzles. It’s deep and dark and you don’t know where it starts and how deep it is. Mosaic on the pool walls are loose and dropping off when you touch them. You can easily hurt yourself because so many of them are already gone. The old discoloured plastic pot with cold water in pool area was gross and sticky. I never saw something like this in any of *5 hotels all over the world. After 00:00 if you would like to enter the hotel you need to call a number from the sheet hanging out on the door and wait until someone open them 😐no automatic system at all. During check-in the receptionists told us he will need to block 100€ for deposit and blocked almost 400€ without telling us that he will block the whole amount.. thanks to that we will need to wait up to 3 working days to unlock this amount on credit card. Very poor breakfast options. English breakfast was the only hot alternative for cold buffet and sweets. Worst than in basic Hilton/Ibis hotel. Big disappointment

What an absolutey amazing place. Went for my wife's 50th birthday on her first trip to Prague and this was just the best hotel. It was postcard perfect inside and out. Jaroslav on the front desk went out of his way to make it super special for my wife and arranged a cake and wine in our room as well as an upgrade, he (and indeed all the staff) were so friendly and helpful throughout our trip. The premium room we ended up with was amazing with full marbled bathroom and a powerful rainfall shower, huge vaulted ceilings and all the usual mod cons including a very comfy super kingsize bed. The breakfast was the best we have had at any hotel and included a huge variety of hot and cold food, smoked salmon, sparkling wine and even a harp being played each day. The hotel spa was lovely and the cocktail bar is fab for a special nightcap. The hotel is just 15 mins walk from the old town and Wencelas squares and we really couldn't fault it in any way. Would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks to the whole team for such a memorable stay.

The room is super tiny, almost inhabitable. Literally, there is no room for me to place my one suitcase as for the service the person in the front desk was trying so hard to upsell whatever he can while I have just arrived from a very long flight and just want to sleep. I decided to go to get a welcome drink since no one offered me, but I have found the large bug in the picture. I don’t recommend staying in this place at all Update: the shower door does not close properly so all the water leaked to my room.

We were extremely impressed🤩 When we first arrived, we were extremely impressed by very elegant and classy hotel! When you walk into the lobby you're bound to fall in love with the beautiful interior design. The hotel is grand with beautiful high ceilings. , magnificent, very clean, and the receptionists greeted us warmly with a smile. Food was great and very tasty. The only think…that we didn’t find out the vanity kit in our room. And consistence of cream/body lotion was kinda waterlish while in the common area it was different. I mean something was different about it. The overall good thing that we’ve enjoyed a very relaxing stay at the hotel.

at check in, we were escorted to our room only to be ushered out as the room hadn’t been cleaned from the last guess. we were upgraded to a nicer room a floor higher which was nice, but the next day maintenance walked into our room with no warning, no knocks, no nothing. my husband and i were in the middle of getting ready for the day so it was a very awkward experience for everyone involved. the food served at the restaurant is nice, but the drinks aren’t worth the price! stay at your own risk. the staff were wonderful though and chatted to you every time they saw you

I stayed in Prague Carlo IV with my girlfriend and it is without a doubt one of the best hotels I have ever been to! What makes it so special is actually not just the stunning lobby, the clean and wonderful bedrooms or the well balanced breakfast but the people working there. When you enter the lobby you immediately feel welcomed and everybody is nice but not in a forced type of way. But a welcoming experience is attainable in many luxurious hotels. What made this one particularly special was the fact that we made a mistake during our booking process and booked for the wrong day. Not only was the hotel staff understanding, but they also found us a new room upon arrival even though they were almost booked out and had to upgrade us. All of this happened for no additional charge! To add to this, on the day of our departure we had another mishap. We lost our car keys.. Again the staff reacted outstandingly, welcoming us to leave our car in the garage until the spare key arrived in the night. Again, for no additional charge. All of the mentioned points are just underscored by all the minor details that make a stay at Prague Carlo IV a very pleasant experience. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Prague and I can recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone going there anytime soon.

The hotel is very good. An excellent spa and a bar with live music. The restaurant is very cozy, beautiful and the food is very tasty. The breakfast is what to expect of a 5* hotel with a bonus of live music (harp musician playing classical music). The staff was very polite and helpful. A very special thank you to Pavel Jízdný, the world's best doorman! He was always very polite, friendly, helpful and in a good mood. Plus, he gave us very good tips to see the city. Thank you, Pavel!!!!

Booked because hotel stated to have a pool and spa. Upon check-in was advised that both were currently closed. This in my opinion constitutes mis-selling. I did explain to the staff that I only booked because of the spa, otherwise I would have selected a different hotel. After such disappointment, me and my daughter both woke up covered in bites! I would not recommend and certainly will never want to go back. Stayed in plenty of cheaper hotels in Prague and had much better experience and customer service

So I was staying in the hotel and we were 55 of us. I requested the hotel relationship manager Mr. Jan humbly for a room with a good view for about 10 min and even then I got the worst possible view with a wall in the front. Secondly, most of the rooms would require a walk up the staircase with your luggage! Oh and they will inform you of a extra payable porter service if you request for help! I would not recommend staying in the hotel if you want to enjoy ur room with a good view to chill! What’s worst the rooms are so tiny you will not be able to open two suitcases at a time!

NH Hotel Prague Carlo IV exceeded all my expectations. The room was a true haven of comfort and style, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The breakfast offerings were simply exceptional, catering to a variety of tastes and preferences. The spa and sauna facilities were nothing short of amazing, offering a relaxing escape that added a touch of luxury to my stay. This hotel truly embodies the essence of a memorable and indulgent experience in Prague. Highly recommend. We will be back

Beautiful hotel (lobby, fresh flowers, business area). Room: comfy beds and huge bathroom. Air condition wasn’t working that well, but since it wasn’t that hot it wasn’t a real issue. Food/ atmosphere: We loved the live music at the restaurant (also the guitar player in the mornings for breakfast) - great choices for tea and freshly prepared crepes, omelettes . Service was excellent. Dinner delicious (but no options to sit outside). Recreation: Amazing spa area (unfortunately no pedicure/ manicure). Location: We didn’t need a car and everything was in walking distance. Would stay there again. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel located super close to a lot of great tourist sites. We were able to get anywhere we needed in 15 minutes walking. The hotel spa was very unique and the massage service was well worth it. The hotel breakfast had a great variety and the staff was very attentive throughout our stay.

Best hotel for roaming around Prague. Location, rooms, spa, food, everything is outstanding. Only the service from reception can be improved. This hotel is very conveniently located on the eastern outskirt of the Old town, with the square being only a quick 10mins walk away with lots of cafes and eateries along the way. The building in itself is something to see. It is an old bank that was converted to a hotel in the early 2000s. They have kept the old vaults and the vault room is now part of the bar area. The main hall is beautiful with the bar on one end and the reception on the other. They have kept the sliding windows that served as the bank counters. One thing to note - there is no lift access from the street, you have to climb a flight of stairs to access the main reception. Alternatively you can also use the lift from the spa entrance, accessible halfway through the stairs. The room we got was spacious and functional, ideal for serving as a base for people mainly looking to roam around the city. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a lot of space for toiletries, make-up, etc. We had a room in the historical wing, with much more character than the modern wing. Their breakfast is a true gem. The buffet is very generous with a lot of options to choose from. They have a few dishes made on demand, such as eggs, crepes, etc. They also have a gluten free section with two types of bread, muffins and cereals. Nataliia and Antonina were exceptional in taking care of our order everyday. We haven’t tried the restaurant per se, but we ordered room service from them. The two pasta dishes we got were tasty, well executed and served rather quickly. Service wise, our requests to housekeeping and room service were quickly and efficiently handled. The service from reception is however lacking. At check-in, despite informing them in advance that we were Titanium members, and coming for our honeymoon, we were told that no upgrade was available since they were fully booked. Now seeing that we were dealing with a trainee, and after confirming online that upper-category rooms were still available for our dates we asked her to double-check with the duty manager. It took a bit of convincing but in the end we got the upgrade. Another day, the room key wasn’t working anymore so we went down to reception. Another trainee (they seem to have many at reception) ‘helped us’ despite seeming very disinterested. It took two back and forth before he fixed the card. Upon checking out, the same trainee who handled our check-in told me « Next time you are in Prague, ask us a few recommendations about local gems, we’ll be happy to help » Quite an interesting thing to say at check-out when we asked at least twice what to do and where to go during our trip, and all we got was a brochure of the touristy tours. Overall, an excellent hotel that we would definitely recommend to people visiting Prague.

The customer service at this hotel is one of the best I've ever seen. Everyone we met was kind, patient, and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Every person we met on their staff was excellent. Lovely bar. Great spa. The location is amazing.

Myself and a colleague stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of a work trip. The hotel was one of the most beautiful I've ever stayed at. The staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was phenomenal - it had everything one could ever want. HOWEVER... despite being the best smelling hotel I've ever been in, the staff weren't able to tell me what the scent being pumped around the hotel was. If I could find this out it would be the cherry on top of the cake!

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. A little off the tourist trail and surrounded by local gems. Beds and rooms are comfortable, excellent staff and a wonderful breakfast buffet. The spa area is an oasis of calm and a perfect retreat from a busy day.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The service was excellent and the spa allowed us to relax after busy days sightseeing. The service was a very high standard and the building was really nicely presented. We'd love to visit again.

We stayed at the NH Collection for four nights and it was great! We had to change rooms as the lower floor room we’d booked was noisy with trams going past and I’m a light sleeper, but the hotel - and Jan on reception - was very accommodating and helpful, sorting us a temporary room before moving us to a bigger suite! Staff were so friendly, decor is amazing, great breakfast and great location - this is a must stay hotel!

The most stunning hotel I've ever stayed at. The service of the staff is amazing. They went above and beyond for us, and were always so polite and helpful. The location is great. So much access to everything we needed to do and see on our trip. The interior and decor of the hotel and the rooms are exquisite. It's very grand and luxurious. Carlo IV have set the standard for hotels now! If we ever return to Prague, we definitely have to stay here again.

Great hotel. The rooms are a little small and basic but they are everything you need, my AC didn’t work at first but was fixed promptly. Good staff, I had some items get very wet one outing and they dried them for me. Breakfast is good and extensive. Nespresso in the room is always a plus for me.

Great hotel, we did spend 5 nights in total, the service was top notch! The breakfast is definitely awesome; one of the best that I ever had in an hotel. I am giving 4 stars because of the room which was a bit smaller than expected, and I expected a bathtub in the bedroom. To be fair I didn’t complain.

Excellent hotel. Great service The room was very spacious, clean, and had all amenities we needed. Reception and Guest service staff were very helpful, not just on checkin and checkout, but also in giving directions to spots. The location is great - very near to the new city center and all popular tourist places. I would recommend to friends, and will definitely stay again if Im in Prague.

A great hotel that makes you want to come back again and again. Very cozy rooms with comfortable mattresses and pillows. Great spa with big pool. Delicious, varied breakfasts with live music and champagne. Friendly staff! I really liked that after check-out you can use the SPA and leave things in a 24-hour storage room.

Had an amazing three-night stay at this very elegant and classy hotel! Beautiful decor throughout, generous selections of food at breakfast, live music morning and night. Super friendly and attentive staff. Special shout-out to Jan at the front desk who helped me with so many things and made my very first visit to Prague extra special and memorable! Thank you again!

Better late than never; what a fantastic experience it was ! Back in Nov 2017, I have booked a room there to propose my girlfriend during the suprise trip to Prague I organized for her. The hotel staff was very supportive in this process and they went beyond expectations: I booked a limousine service from the airport (and the limousine was spotless, it was a brilliant service), with their help I got flowers been delivered to the room (the hotel also organized for rose petals to be put on the bed to form an heart shape). They also offered us a free ugrade to the Presidential suite from the Junior suite booking I made (which was, at that time, the best room I could book online). All of this to say that our trip to Prague has been just magical and this is in part thanks to the amazing service we got from the hotel. I am aware that a such old review won't be relevant for nowadays trips as I guess the hotel/staff/services have changed a lot since then. But I wanted to share how wonderful our experience has been at that time and that every year we still remember it.

The Carlo IV is a truly stunning luxury hotel, in a gorgeous historical building in the centre of Prague. We arrived early and there was initially some trouble finding our reservation due to the airline but the front desk worked very hard to rectify the issue and were very welcoming, and we were able to check in on time. The location is fantastic, with all amenities just a short walk away. The spa facilities are excellent, and staff are very helpful. The aromatherapy massage was the best I’ve ever had. There was also a wide variety of tasty and healthy options at the breakfast buffet. Overall, a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to go back!

A wonderful hotel. Great for a romantic getaway. We booked a junior suite and it was perfect. (Was hoping for an upgrade to a regular suite. Guess one could wish.) We walked a lot and took an Uber back when needed. So many interesting things within walking distance. Real close to the main train station. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff at breakfast and all around. Would stay here again.

Had a great stay in the hotel, it's so GRAND feels like staying in a palace! Rooms were comfy, when I arrived bit smell of damp but when the window open the problem solved. Location is SUPER, close with restaurants, the sight seeing area and shopping area. Breakfast spread is huge and lots of variety, definitely happy tummy. Staff very friendly and speak good English, shout out to Kenny that so helpful during check in. If you looking for a hotel to stay in Prague, don't hesitate to book here.

I would like to say thank you to the hotel for their help today. I suffered Internet blackout just 5 minutes before my exams which was online. I had no choice but ran to the hotel to ask if I could take my exams in their cafe. As it was an unplanned and urgent trip, I didn't dress up either. Not only they allowed me to do my exams in their cafe comfortably, their staff made sure I wasn't disturbed as well. I will book a stay once my studies are over. I also highly recommend everyone to enjoy their stay here!

Nice hotel but we booked a spa break for the spa and pool, flew from Dublin and were told on arrival that the pool would only be open for 1 day of our 5 day stay, we were put in a cramped room with no windows only a skylight that didn't open. Our air conditioning was loud and ran constantly. Nice food though. Changed hotel after only 2 nights

The hotel is very grand with crystal and high ceiling . The staff are polite and helpful the restaurant is off a high standard but with only a small menu . I spent a few days in the hotel for a professional event in April 2022 . I would highly recommend . Recently renovated. Keeping the deco/architectural style and all the rooms were impeccable as well as food & beverages. The facilities were in perfect working order during the meetings. Kind and attentive staff. It's well located to enjoy Prague, walking distance from highlights of the city. Marie

Wonderful hotel. Very grand on the entrance and the breakfast was superb. Only fault was it was a little warm (dealt easily with good air conditioning) and twin beds instead of a king (again no big issue). Staff, food, drink and location were all fantastic

  • 4/5 Izzy K. 8 months ago on Google
To pay over £100 a night, per person in a twin room, off peak, the hotel didn't really match up to the standard I was expecting. The beds are comfy, the views are not worth staying in this hotel for, but the breakfast, made up for it. The spa is also nice but just nice, the jacuzzi was not warm either. Location is a bout 15-20 min walk from main attractions and tourist area, so good if you like walking or want to stay a little further out. You can hear the other rooms noise in each room also which is not great.

This is the second time a NH hotel has saved us on our journey in Europe. First was in Madrid when we booked an Airbnb that was very dirty. Now in Prague. We stayed at a nearby 5 star hotel where I felt very unsafe. When we first arrived at this NH location the room was not great and I booked another hotel, but Polina took great care of us. She upgraded us to a beautiful room. The staff are very professional and kind. The spa is lovely. My son enjoyed the pool very much. I got a massage. It wasn't what I was hoping for but it was ok. Highly recommend this hotel.

They have some spectacular musicians at night, yesterday a pianist and today a saxophonist, both wonderful! You can have a nice and relaxing time listening to them while you drink a glass of wine! Overall a fabulous experience! I want to highlight the buffet breakfast that is very good! and the location of the hotel very close to the center of prague! recommended 100%

Clean, welcoming after a long flight, beds were very comfortable. The staff here were so accommodating, helpful and friendly. Offering tips on what to see in and around Prague. I was helped to the train station by Carlos who took charge of my very heavy bags, helped me buy a ticket and was kind enough to show me the supermarket where I could get a drink and food for my journey. He went above and beyond his role as concierge.

This is a beautiful hotel and the service is top notch! I reserved the room through American Express portal for their luxury hotel collection. The customer relation department contacted me ahead of time to confirm reservation and if anything they can do to improve my stay. I told them this trip is my honeymoon trip that had been cancelled multiple times due to Covid and they were kind enough to upgrade my room from Deluxe to Junior Suite!!! They even gifted us with some chocolates! Im impressed with their service and the hotel overall! The breakfast was massive with food options. Definitely one of the best hotels i have been in. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Praha.

Great experience staying at this hotel. We stayed here using our American Express benefits. The staff were all very accommodating and the service was phenomenal. Any problems we had with our room were fixed immediately. Mojitos at the bar was delicious. The lobby is just beautiful. The spa is the cherry on top though. Amazing.

This hotel was priced similarly to other beautiful hotels I have stayed at in Prague, However, this one is just gross. The lobby is pretty, the pool is very nice, but the rooms are old, furniture is filthy, my pillow case was completely stained, the sink had brown goo in it, and the water barely gets warm enough for a bath or shower. Luckily, I only have to stay one night. I would highly suggest that anyone looking for a nice place to stay, stay elsewhere! The grand mark is lovely, the same price, in a better location, and clean. This hotel is NOT!

Just spent 2 nights at this fantastic hotel. The location is unique - 5 minutes to the old town with all the sights. The staff can't believe all the good things they will do for you - and it's with smiles that come from the heart. The breakfast is really delicious and again with great service. Delicious dinner in the restaurant - very high quality. The room was good and very cosy. Really good cleaning. Don't miss the spa!!!!Can only be recommended!!!!!

Be advised that around 50% of the rooms face a cement wall and have no view/little natural light. That being said, the rooms are still beautiful, very clean and extremely comfortable. Great location and the service is beyond excellent. The spa and breakfast are truly an experience to be had. Upon arrival, we were told we had been chosen as "guest of the day" (we heard other guests being told the same thing as well) and was given an upgraded room and complimentary breakfast. Unsure of what the room upgrade was, as it didn't have a view and didn't appear to have additional space/amenities. We had included breakfast in our initial booking so not sure what that was about. Either way, kind people and very nice stay!
