Decent accommodations for the price. Conveniently located and close to many attractions. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely stay here again.

Recommended hostel, we booked dorm beds for 3 person in 5 bedded dorm. The stay was pleasant and staffs were pretty nice. They hav breakfast for a fee of 5 euors which is fine. And you have a common area which can be used as a dining area and there is couch where you meet the fellow travelers and have some chit chat with piano and guitar if someone's like to play. There is also a locker for free which is the best things .. you can check out and have your bags at safe place and you can roam freely in the city . Thanks Downtown for a lovely stay. Hope to come soon.

DO NOT book this hostel! We made a large group reservation. Unfortunately the pandemic came when we should visit Prague, so Hostel Downtown promised us a voucher so we could come back later when the situation is 'calmer'. The hostel is now ignoring our mails and calls. Very poor service

Great service. The receptionists speak good english and are very helpful, we had a wonderful time here. Everything is clean, we had a room for 10, lots of sunlight and a bathroom (no toilets in the room) Overall, good experience.

Such an excellent hostel! We got poorly during a festival in Prague so left a day early and came here and the staff were super friendly and accommodating, we were even able to get an early check in which we desperately needed in our states (this was pure luck due to the room being vacant already but lots of staff wouldn't even bother to check whereas these guys made sure we were ok) simple check in without fuss, fantastic facilities (kitchen, clean bathrooms, comfy beds) and lovely staff. Its also in a really good area within walking distance to everything. Trust me I've been to many hostels in my time but this one id go back to for sure! Thank you so much for everything :)

Very hot and stuffy, extremely noisy at night time because you NEED to have window open. Lights hardly worked. Cards for the rooms had to been changing multiple times and they still never worked.

I was quite disappointed with the hostel. I had read nice reviews, but they left out some important things... For example, none of the rooms had air conditioning, when you put 8 people in a dormitory in the summer, that is really not a luxury given the room was on the very busy street side . The rooms were also not clean, there was a dead beetle (?) next to my bed which had not been cleaned away after 3 days, and there was dust or cobwebs everywhere. The cupboard to put your backpack in was long broken at the bottom, so that it could simply be opened with a hard pull. And then the plumbing... the word water pressure is unknown to me in Hostel Downtown. And not to mention that the "ensuit bathroom" is somewhere in the hallway, and the shower is in a bath, but you can't hang the shower head ... The wifi was great! There are no activities from the hostel, they do sell tickets for a pub crawl and a city guide, but the cool atmosphere is basically absent

Honestly we had a great stay, we were 4 guys traveling together and shared a 4-bed room. Nice bathroom and very central, with walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions.

Terrible! No cozy atmosphere at all! The place is so cold except in the reception. I had to be in the kitchen with a jacket because they just didn't turn on the heater!!! Rude staff

Amazing place but honestly is winter and something to make warm the common area is non existent we keep saying is cold and even the rooms are a little cold and they say everything is automatic we keep saying is so cold we have to use our jackets inside the hostel which I think doesn't makes any sense. Please to the people in reception they have a heater for them there but if u go to the common area were are the guests is freaking cold! How is that possible?

I stayed here for 4 nights. Staff is amazing, great tours of Prague and beer gardens. Very out dated, shower barely works, rooms are very cheap, beds are uncomfortable. I honestly don’t know how people are giving this place 5 stars. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because of the staff and tours.

This is a great, homely place to stay on a budget in Prague, the staff were very helpful, especially the lovely Anna-Maria who patiently answered all our questions and offered great advice about local amenities and services. They have everything a backpacker needs and the large, well stocked kitchen with automatic pancake machine was excellent. Mostly caters to a younger crowd so it can get a little rowdy on weekends.

Had a nice stay of one night. The maintenance was really good. The beds were comfortable and we had lockers and towels provided. Would recommend for a short stay. It's super affordable.

Really enjoyed my stay here over Christmas!! All the staff was kind and helpful, the atmosphere is definitely light and cheery, without being a complete crazy party zone, and the amenities were all very nice! Bathrooms were cleaned and well maintained, bedrooms were nice, plenty of space in the dorms, and the common area was great! Loved the location, only a 10 minute walk to Old Town Square and 8 minute walk to Charles Bridge. Will definitely book here again and highly recommend it!!

If you are looking for a simple, budget-friendly and very well located place to stay in Prague, I would really recommend you the Downtown Hostel. We were a group of four students, the room they gave us was big enough for six people, so space was not a problem. There is a common kitchen in which you can store your food and next to it, some couches. The reception never closes what made us feel really safe. The majority of groups were other students doing the "interrail", what we found cool as we were the same age, but it is something to take into account when choosing the dates. To sum up, I liked it, receptionists were nice and it was everything we asked for, nothing less nothing more.

Stayed here for 2 nights in February. The booking process was smooth and the price was competitive. The quality of the rooms was good and having large lockers underneath the bunk beds was very convenient (provided you bring your own lock). The bathroom facilities were sufficient but not super clean. The communal kitchen space was useful to be able to heat your own food. Overall, a solid and safe hostel experience.

Some staff are nice but the cleaning lady's are just grumpy old woman's. Rooms were well, to be expected really darn bad. Beds are made from what feels / looks like big yellow sponges. Carpet can definitely be replaced since these seem like there from the 1600th. Doors are rusty and old aswell just like the windows

Perfect hostel for backpackers. It has everything needed. Big room with good view. Very well located, near downtown and close to the train station. A busy street with restaurants, shops, etc. The reception staff was very friendly and attentive

from the outside it may not look like the perfect and extravagant hostel (which is totally fine) but on the inside its really nice! The rooms are very colorful and the receptionist is so nice and entertaining ! And I met some very nice people there :)

Great experience at this hostel. Ladies at the reception were so welcoming. Facilities are better than in any other hostel I stayed. They have a shared kitchen, tables, elevator, movie room, free wifi, outlets and even a currency exchange machine. They offer luggage storage for after check in. Discrete entrance, feels very safe. I had a stunning view to the city and Prague Castle from my room.

Busy hostel, had my laptop stolen, but the hostel also had a brand new cell phone stolen by the same guy - they had it on camera. We reported it to police. Not much they could do. Stayed for a week. Lock your stuff.

Recall this being a pretty solid hostel during the few days I spent in Summer 2019. Kitchen, wifi, location. Staff seemed a little edgy, but that might just be a cultural thing (or maybe it was just one of those days). Keycard stopped working a couple times; other than that, no complaints.

I stayed for four nights at the hostel, It was amazing! The staff was very nice and the rooms and showers were really big. The only thing was that it was too hot and there was no ac. They organize activities every day, from tours to drinking games. Fran (the activities organizer) was the best!! We left with a lot of new friends and great memories.

If you're looking for a good hostel in Prague then stay here. Great location, well run, attentive staff, very clean, comfy beds, what more do you need?

I only stayed one night. The reception was really friendly . The hostel has a perfect location, rooms are good, the bed was comfy. I don't know about the social side of the hostel but I didn't see any event except for walking tour. I only used hostel as a place to sleep so it was quite enough for me, I would stay again !

Good amenities, clean rooms, friendly personnel. You will enjoy this hostel as a tourist in a usual situation. Although they did not want to check me in without a valid EU document or visa. I am studying in Czechia for the second year, waiting for a new residence permit for 4 months. At the reception desk they need to put in a number of a valid EU document in the system. If accidentally I did not have a valid US visa, I would sleep that night on the street? While legally I am allowed to stay in Czechia while my application is considered. They also did not know that not everyone has to pay the city tax. This is why I put 2 out of 5. Please, improve your check-in system! P.S. I changed it to 1/5 because even after a conversation over email where it was brought to them that people who are registered in Prague do not have to pay the city tax, they apparently did not learn it and continue to assert it.

Cozy hotel for backpacker and fine place in middle of the city. However the door slams of every room are a little annoying. Overall great place for a great price.

I stayed here for a couple nights. I'd say this hostel is around the 2-3 star range for overrall quality. Common room was reasonably large along with the kitchen. Reception staff were great aside from the rude boy who checked me in on the first day. The dorm room was a basic double bunk bed setup. Large lockers in the room was a plus, as I could store both my large bag and small backpack. It could be improved by bolting the bunkbeds to the walls so they don't shake so much when someone moves. Unfortunately on the second night I had someone above me who has SEVERE sleep apnea. They constantly shook the bed due to their medical issue. No fault to the hostel, but securing the bed frames would reduce shake. I do appreciate that this hostel doesn't nickel and dime it's customers. Locker access was free as long as the customer has a lock. Towels were also free.

I liked my stay, the room had enough space, not sure if every room is the same, the common area is quite good. Wi-Fi works goof enough. Just shower was only one in the corridor but didn't have issues. Maybe I didn't see and was more.

One of the best hostels I've been in! Great common area, socializing is encouraged. There was an employee who screamed at my friend and threatened to fight him. That's why only 4-stars

Have been going to Downtown for the last ten years. The best hostel I have ever been to. The place is spotlessly clean. Superb Management and Staff. The atmosphere of the hostel has a good vibe. (And I'm in my fifties) and I love the place, hence my regular visits. Haven't had the need to try any other hostels in Prague. I am more than happy with Downtown.

Nice kitchen, clean rooms and bathrooms The key karts are bad, if they are to close to your phone they don't work anymore.

For this price, it's reasonably ok to accommodate here. The rooms, restrooms and baths were clear. We stayed in a 10 people dorm with 9 people with shared restrooms. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There is also a lounge where you can spend time with your friends or make new friends. The only problem i should mention was the breakfast and kitchen. Breakfast was 5 euro but there were almost nothing to eat except for some packaged butter chese and piece of toast bread. (Later on, the receptionist cook us scrambled egg which was super nice and kind act) Moreover, they ask you to clean your dishes. Oh please. I am totally fine with cleaning my own dishes. But i can't trust other people if they clean theirs properly. So how am I going to eat on those plates with those forks that are cleaned by the tenants. This part should have been definitely taken care by the hostel itself especially during these COVID times... Overall, it's a good hostel with a great location near old town with reasonable prices. Have fun!

Superb location inside the city center of Prague, next to restaurants, all kinds of shops and public transportation, yet quiet at nights, great value for money, very clean and spacious rooms. Highly recommended!

👍 A lot of + with one -. This is a very good place for the price (about 26€ or 650 czk/night/person in a room for two people).
