Decent rooms and prices but bathrooms are not so good And the garden closes at specific times Vending machine doesn’t work and it’s very loud in the early morning even by the staff they keep talking and yelling and asking all rooms when is their checkout I had to change hostels unfortunately

In 3 months, I had stolen from the fridge: yoghurts, cheese, bananas. Unfortunately, the hostel can't do anything about it and the surveillance camera videos don't record the data. So there is a lack of security in this hostel. This is for the moment only food. But if it was your wallet, computer or laptop. No solution will exist to help you find your stolen stuff. Beware

The pictures provide a very different image than what the actual hostel is like. It's in a nice, quiet part of the city close to transit, and will take 20 min to get to downtown. The staff were nice. But the hostel itself is very dingy. It looks worn with chipped paint and old furniture. The beds had a plank of cork rather than a real mattress and gave us body aches. The bathrooms need a lot of maintenance and there were no sinks in the bathroom to wash hands. It felt like sad ghosts live here rather than happy visitors. It is overpriced for what it offers.

Verry clean, the staff could have been better but is still good as for the emplacement I find it well found, they offer a clean room with enough space. The vintage look is very clean.

Remarcably noisy night. Walls were paper thin, masive gabs around doors and drinking russians into morning hours. My room had only one power poing, wardrobe without a single hanger, chair that litterary cause pain the second you sat in it and these was no bed but a sofa disguised as a single bed. Reception staff was helpful but the rest was a nightmare. For some reason their shovers are two feet up from floor without any step or anything. You just need to leap there, masive trip hazard.

Great under all point of view, I had a problem with check in and the reception found a suitable solution that actually saved the day, much much appreciated. Rooms are absolutely balanced woth price and clean. Position is perfect, very quite area of Prague but still close to the city centre and very well served by public transport. The hostel is between two metro stops of the green line (A) dejvicka and hradcanska that would take you in the city centre in about 15 min, also very high frequency, so losing one ride won't imply huge waiting. As well with the metro there is the possibility to take the tram, several lines are passing close to the hostel. Absolutely recommended.

Economic Stay in Prague 8 Liked · 1. Room nice and specious, it was facing the nice small lane. 2. The lift/elevator was good. 3. location was peaceful, Prague castle was 15mins walking distance. Can take tram and metro to city center (Prague 1). Area is vey safe, have few shops to buy groceries near by. 4. The kitchen was perfect with kettle, induction oven, large fridge, nice utensils. 5. The cleaning staff was helpful. 6. The room has cupboard, nice dressing table with mirror and wash basin. Disliked · 1. The Toilet door locks seems to be from the times of Austro-Hungarian Empire. 2. The toilet and bath room were missing cloth hanger 3. The in room wash basin has only cold water, some hot water would have been helpful. 4. The lighting in the room was very very dim, it was hearting our eyes. That need to be changed. We had requested to change those, but none came. Towles given were very small. They informed that guests are stealing towel and hair dryer's, so to get those we need to pay a deposit.

The rooms themselves are OK (relatively clean, linens seemed fresh), and the location is great (non-touristy part of town, close to public transportation), but that's it. The hostel staff generally seemed confused, and we had to spend 4 days getting a refund because we'd overpaid for our stay. The walls are very thin, and you can hear whenever someone walks around in the hall. Checkout is before 11, but the reception doesn't open until 10 (?!).

Was a cool place to stay. I was in a 4 bed room but luckily I was the only one in the room as it was a weekday. I had come for a work related trip. They have an ATM inside in case you need it. Well maintained and cool staff.

Good place to stay, nice and quiet, don't let the bar fool you. I agree that the mattresses are horribly uncomfortable, luckily I'm not too picky but I imagine someone else might wake up with a sore back or neck. The pillows suck too. And their laundry service is only during the week, there's no machines available on site.

The best thing about this hostel is that it is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, far away from all the buzz of the old town. Not all the rooms are 10 people typical hostel rooms, there are couple rooms, 4 people rooms. So, based on your need you get what you want in a fair price. After a perfect day of sight seeing you can come back and relax. The old decor and vibe of the building will give you the aesthetic feel. There is a garden in the back too for you to sit back. There are restaurants and small cafes nearby for breakfast and food. If I revisit Prague again, I know where to stay.

It's just not it. The walls are super thin. You can hear every conversation and the babies crying in the other rooms and the kitchen. They only have sinks in the room to wash your hands, not in the bathroom. There's a lingering smell of dust. And in all honesty, I don't like the simple linen they put on the thin mattress. On the plus side, location is good. Close to street rail and subway. Good restaurants in the area too. It was relatively warm outside, so there were no problems with the heat either. I wouldn't recommend.

The area is really nice and the place is clean. The mattresses are basically non existent, at the reception they said it’s already ordered but has some delay. However they should have been changed years ago. Staff are friendly.

I spent a couple of nights at Hostel Dakura while in Prague. I agree with the reviews that mention the condition of the rooms. They are I'd say a bit old rather than vintage, in my case I got a towel which had make up stains from somebody else on it, and the bedsheets had holes. Besides that, the room had a weird smell. But the common WC and showers were fine, there were clean kitchens and a garden. Obviously it's not a luxus stay, but as a person that has been in several hostels this is a good one :) Regarding the location: the hostel is outside the centre, so you'll need about 20 minutes by foot to reach the famous spots of the city, however this is in my opinion an advantage because the neighborhood is quiet and safe

The room and price was definitely not worth it. Shared bathrooms and toilets are most of the time not clean. Rooms are also not cleaned well, because I have found hair strands in my bed, desk, even the cup that is supposed to be single-use. This place isn't retro, it's just old. Staff was good, helped me with a problem. If I could give 0 starts, I would still give 1 for staff. Definitely don't recommend.

Prices are OK considering the fact that it's Prague, but if you want to stay here you should know that inside the rooms and hall look like a hospital. Toilets on the 2nd floor are coeducational, showers were closed so we had to look for it on another floor. Very poor fitted kitchen, lack of toilet paper etc. If you need a place just for night and then all day you plan to be outside, it's OK. Otherwise you better for more comfortable place.

Apartment is amazing, 100% recommended. The place is spacey, clean, comfy. Kitchen is very well equipped. Toilet and shower are in separate rooms. Big table where we could ate breakfast. The only downside is that to get to apartament Superior, which is placed at the very end of the hostel on the highest floor, you have to take stairs, lift and another stairs. The hostel is placed 2 km from Karol's Bridge so it is quite near the old town, you don't need to take tram (the station is pretty near). The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Our visit was at the weekend, so we didn't have to pay for car park. There are lots of parking spots on the street near the hostel. Also there is an amazing restaurant at the end of the street, Staročeská krčma, 100% recommended.

It's ok for the price. The rooms were clean but the mattress is so thin. The walls are very thin so there's constant noise. My room was on top of the main enterance so there was the added noise of people hanging out by the enterance. And the shower head was broken.

Das Hostel hat eine gute Lage. Zimmer sehr einfach. Unsere Betten waren 2 Einzelbetten zusammengeschoben und 1 Waschbecken. Sehr sauber gewesen.

Showers in the private dorm aren’t lockable. Not ideal when sharing with 9 lads. Other than that dorms were ok Can’t beat a bit of table tennis though.

I booked a room with a double bed. Instead, I got 2 single beds pushed together. I couldn't sleep with my partner because of a 10 cm gap caused by two bed frames pushed together. I informed the receptionist that the heat in my room wasn't working. I was assured it would be turned on and offered an extra blanket for which I had to pay a 10 euro deposit. The heat never came on and the room was so cold that in addition to 2 blankets- I slept in my coat. The room has a sink, which is great but the water has only one temperature - ice cold. Yesterday was 13 degrees, today it is 1 degree. I can't imagine how cold this room will be tonight. I never slept in the arctic tundra, I guess this is as close as I will get to that experience. Prague is beautiful, but staying here makes me feel like I can't wait to get home. The hostel has cute old decorations from the time of communism. Unfortunately the condtions offered by this hostel also feels like I am staying in Prague in the time of communism. If the weather is nice, I guess this would be an OK place to stay. But please if you value your comfort don't consider staying here outside of summer months.

The hardness of the mattress makes the rooms borderline unusable, after one night we booked another hotel, even knowing we wouldn't get a refund, because our backs hurt so much. You also don't get a toilet in the room and there is two plug sockets high up on the wall. If you don't mind sleeping on what feels like the floor with a sheet on, the location isn't bad. At all times you could hear people shouting or talking loudly, which either means they were being extremely loud or the walls are thinner than the mattress. There are also very small towels so probably bring your own.

Very cozy hostel with a friendly atmosphere. Nice staff, warm and welcoming lobby, good location and clean common areas. The only downside are the beds, which are very hard and uncomfortable. But considering it’s a hostel in a “party” city, I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it got at night.

Pretty charming old place that looks like a grandmother’s home. Helpful staff and clean rooms, but we booked a private ensuite that had a shower and sink in the room, but the toilet was down the hall. The wifi was decent on the first floor, but in the double room, there was only a single outlet that was pretty high up on the wall, not anywhere close to where you can rest your device. Maybe it was just our room, but I think having at least 2 outlets in a double room should be a given. The walls were thin, so we could hear lots of doors slamming. This place is fine for a night, just come prepared with fully charged portable chargers.

Reasonable, clean, can be a bit noisy as walls are thin and the self closing doors shake the walls with each use. Stayed there several times before the prices went up. At the moment there are better places for that price...

It's very basic and for the same money I definitely had better places like apartment Giotto or University Hotel. Only the location is not that bad, line 26 not far from the Hostel which brings you in 10 minutes to the center.

It is a cheap and cosy hostel. We really enjoyed spending time in the garden. However, it was the only hostel i have stayed in my life that does not offer body towels, only a small one. You can get one if you pay a deposit though.

Pathetic hostel. Booked a double room with shower but the staff gave us a room on top floor without a shower. The common shower was broken. Plus the room smelled really bad. The only way to reach the apartment was by stairs. We have to carry our luggage on stairs. The staff was extremely rude and didn’t do anything to help us.

Don't pay in advance, you risk to be left on the street and not getting your money back I extended my initial stay by one night, since I had to leave Prague, but I was going to be back 2 days later. When I returned it was 21:05 or so and the reception was closed. They didn't give me a code to get the keys. I called several times to the 2 phones I had from them and no one answered my calls. I had to book a hotel nearby last minute to have a place to sleep. Next day I managed to talk to them, they apologized for the mistake, and told me they will notify Management about the incident. A week later, after not hearing from them, I called again. The receptionist apologized again and told me she will pass my call again, but management ignores me and doesn't return the money they took from me.

Do not stay here. Walls are paper thin, can heat everyone outside at every hour of the night, they don’t lock the kitchen so people stay in there all night drinking and talking. The kitchen is located right beside the bedrooms. This place isn’t vintage, it’s just old. Two toilets and two showers on each floor which are mostly not clean. The doors can be opened just by pulling down the handle even when they are locked so the security is not good at all. Tried to complain about noise outside the room but the reception was closed at 10 o’clock. Very expensive and definitely not worth the money.

(Translated by Google) The hostel is beautifully stylish and welcoming from the outside and at the reception. But that suddenly changes when you go to your room. The floors fall, it is cold everywhere and the smell of mold. Furniture from the communist era and rooms in a terrible condition. The only new thing in the hostel is the elevator and it also makes scary noises. It occurs to me that the owner tries to squeeze as much out of the hostel as possible and invest as little as possible. I do not recommend. Nábytek z dob komunismu a pokoje v příšerném stavu.

I've been to a lot of hostels in Europe and can say Dakura was one the most pleasant ones. Pros: 1.kind and friendly staff. 2,reasonable price. 3.clean. 4.you can book it in advance without paying. free canceling. 5.no deposit needed. free lock is given. 6.near to public transportation and supermarkets. 7.near to old town. cons: 1.doors are a bit old and make noises when opening and closing ( not a good thing in a room with multiple beds and people ) 2.Don't get the ground floor room if you cannot sleep with noise outside. All together: Recommended!

The host was very friendly and helpful! Always smiling, spoke good English and gave me tips (supermarket, restaurant, public transport) about the area. The rooms were neat and clean. The shared bathrooms and toilets are not super modern, but they were clean. The hostel was very nice, but the visitors weren't that great. People making phone calls and arguing very loud in hallway.

(Translated by Google) As for hostel it was very good. But they stole all the food from the refrigerator. One suggestion is to put a camera in the kitchen, since many places in the hostel have. Out of this incident, the service very good.

(Translated by Google) They tell you it's vintage but the correct word is old. The rooms are fine, just put more things for bed and plugs. It is not near the center but the subway. Breakfast is worth 5 € and is very scarce and very little quality.

(Translated by Google) If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep and shower, relatively close to the center (30min walk or 3 subway stops), go for it. The bathrooms are in the hallways. It is clean, people are friendly but our beds were horrible, that's not a mattress is a mattress on top of a table. It is in a quiet neighborhood where you have everything.

(Translated by Google) The location is great as much as going downtown or going to the airport, the room we loved is basic but very comfortable and otherwise kitchen and bathroom and shower very convenient.

(Translated by Google) The room was quite large and had a lot of storage space in terms of the double room. There was a little noise, and the outlet was not on both sides. There's a washbasin in the room, but I didn't know if it would be so convenient at first. All the staff are friendly and the answers to online questions are particularly fast and accurate.

Parking at the hotel is free on weekends. Nice people at the reception. Management does not care about mistakes being made - I paid 12 Euros to have my laundry done, but the personel just stuck my stuff in the dryer with some perfumed towel in the hope I would not recognize. The receptionist told me that the laundry lady wasn't happy with the amount of hostel laundry (bed and linen) that they had to do and then plus having to do the guests laundry. If you feel overwhelmed with laundry, then don't offer to do the guests laundry. It is as simple as that. Management did not care or offer to actually have it washed. I paid 12 euros for nothing. Walkes across town with my dirty laundry until I found a place to REALLY have my clothes washes. It cost me even more. I stayed a day longer in the hostel in order to get some work done , but instead I was busy fixing my dirty laundry. 60 euros stay, 12 euros laundry, anothrt 15 euros for the REAL laundry. 72 euros down the drain, which is a lot of money for me. I am extremely disappointed in the hostels management. I can not recommend this place. Also it lacks cleaniness in general.

If i could've given a -1 stars to this hostel , i would've! We took 2 rooms for 4 days seeing the photos on the site, and it was much worse than we expected! The doors at the enter of the rooms were barely closing, the bathroom was a nightmare, we had no heat, even called reception to ask for help and got told that only at night they are turning the heat on once every a few hours, outside being -1 degrees! This is not a serious hostel! They re not taking people in serious! I dont recomend to nobody to go there. 50€ for a room per night, money wasted on nothing! Worst experience in Prague.
