Small place with a small bar / counter. Half the tables here were reserved. The sole thirty something year old guy behind the counter with old school bilateral tribal calf tats was not very friendly at first but hustled to keep the flow. I had the Kozel beers, actually served cold The menu's in Czech and is pretty limited. So don't expect restaurant style choices. You can get a klabasa with bread and mustard, may be some thinly sliced ham and bread with a pickle. They also have a pork schnitzel that's not bad...and served hot. You're sharing the four large tables in the backroom with others...which is actually cool. They do not take credit so cash only...prices are good for the neighborhood. Three stars for the attitude, the limited menu and limited seating...and the cash only inconvenience.

First visit since the pandemic ended.. really disappointed, the waiter told me my order of 3 beers (44 czk each) was 7 euro total, I gave him 20 euro then he gave me back 200 czk, after that I checked the maths and came back to confront him on the discrepancy and he only gave me another 80 czk back. Either he's mentally challenged and can't count correctly or just a scammer. I won't be returning and I will make sure to let others know about this kind of practice. I finally understand why they don't accept card, only cash ;) One more thing, the beer isn't sold in 0.5l quantity, they fill it so that at least 1/3 of the glass' volume is foam. I guess when people keep coming regardless of the level of your service it gives you no motivation to hold yourself to any standard whatsoever..

It's good for what it is - a traditional Czech pub with good beer and low prices with simple meals. Don't expect anything modern or breathtaking and you'll be satisfied.

One of the best beer places to visit if you enjoy this drink ! Great, fresh beer. Authentic atmosphere. Fantastic service. If you are in Prague for several days and think where to get a beer - this place is an answer 👌 Ask Patrik Kovanda for the best brew recommendation and be sure you will be served best possible way 🍻🍻🍻

The beer was great! One of the best beer pubs to visit as a tourist! Tip! When you are close of finishing your beer put the beer coaster on the beer or else he will bring you another beer as you finish!

Classic pub with nice beer. Service is fast and it’s pretty cheap, but note they only accept cash, no cards. We had the pickled cheese which went down well in combination with the beer.

You must see this place. It's in a very privileged location, but it's still a wonder. The only clues to the pub's existence are the ornate pewter glass window and the clinking of pints being washed. In the summer, the sound of the beer can be heard through the open windows into the street. Don't be offended if you don't get a warm welcome the first time. Maybe not the tenth time, but that's not our fault. It's more the fault of the thousands of stupid tourists who have been here before us and who have tried the patience of the staff.

Really beautiful pub with a mediaeval setting, full of locals and tourists, that takes you back in time and gives a very authentic Prague experience. The menu is limited but well done. Drinks are mostly beer, but very well-poured. Definitely recommend going there on one of your strolls for sightseeing.

The beer is nice amazing. Its cheap but amazing taste. One beer is 41kc and its nice This is a traditional czech pub and you will see lot of paintings on the wall in the pub. The only thing is it difficult to note from outside that its a pub.

Rudest staff ever, really bad service. We were overcharged, and even though we pointed the staff his mistake, he just didn't care. Beer is good, food is okay.

a shame. why do they try to take you for stupid? People are going to enjoy a moment of leisure and there are people who abuse that. We are all the same in different situations, but please do not abuse those of others. Trying to charge more because we are foreigners is for the poor, and that is what they have tried, or rather, done, because in the end we did not want the money , in this place, when we had gone many times before without problem. this is life

An absolutely iconic place that I have been visiting for almost 30 years. Because: Kdo umi, umi... :-)

The absolute best pork schnitzel I had across Europe! Great priced beers and food with a fantastic atmosphere!

Don't allow dogs in the pub, it's super weird. Prices are low for such a touristic place. Snacks are just for checkmark, nothing tasty.

One of the best traditional pubs that you can visit in this region. Beer is perfect, meals simple, yet delicious.

Needed a beer, this place provided. Kozel 12/Kozel Cerny good value, under 50kc. Food seemed reasonably priced. Quiet on arrival but soon filled up with food biased customers.

Portions were a bit small, other than that it is a local pub.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place We had a hot wine that was warm A beer that was served from a dirty glass And sausage served from a wooden board which had remains from previous customers in it's cracks. As if that's not enough they literally force to tip you when paying, and asking for a "service charge"

Food and drinks was ok but bill was higher than we expected. There is no possibility to pay by card :( It's nice place with interesting atmosphere.

It's a pub! It sells beer and some basic food, it has basic wooden tables and benches, and it's not too big inside. Go there.

It's always the best place in all Prague where you can drink the best beer. I came here from Italy few years ago and I will be back for sure.

Great tradicional cech pub with beer and amazing snacks: nakladany hermelin and vypražany syr is the best! Climate is awesome. The prices are sooooo low for the location and quality. Visited it second time and still impressed

Very rude staff, they don't like tourists. Since the moment the waitress notices you're a foreigner, starts treating you different. You can pay only in cash in the local currency, if you mention card or euros they get angry, the exchange rate is extremely inconvenient: "I can only offer 20 crowns per 1€, I'm sorry but this is Czech Republic" and they don't give cash back, you need to give them the exact amount otherwise they say "This is Czech Republic and I'm not a bank" even though she had more than enough small euros to give you cash back, they just don't care and instead start yelling at you saying that it is Czech Republic.

Great place with great feeling. Very nice service, good beer and the best schnitzel I ever ate! Mandatory place for visit if you are in Prague!

A lovely, traditional Czech pub with a unique atmosphere, one of few which keep it over the decades.

Prices are shown per 100 grams. They do their best to cheat you, everywhere on that street. Food was good though.

Fiver star only for unique and traditional atmosphere and tastiest Kozel in whole Praha

Old school pub with excellent Pilsner tank beer. Worth to visit to feel authentic atmosphere. Unfortunately food I ordered - tlacenka (pork brawn) and smazeny syr (fried cheese) was not the best but above an average.

For those who seek beauty in simple things: draft beer, schnitzel, pickles and bread would recover your evening. Glad it hasn’t changed since my previous visit - five years ago indeed. Hope it’ll last longer. Prosit!

This was my last visit here, since 1985 I visited this pub almost every year and have seen this place turn from a local beerpub to the tourist trap it has become today. No service, rude waiters and the food went up in price by 20% and the portions down by 20%. Since I am a foreigner, the bill is just an educated guess with tip already included. There are other pubs nearby, where beer and food is served with a smile and a glas not half full of foam in stead of beer. So do yourself a favor and avoid this place or maybe just a look and then leave for good beer, food and people elsewhere.
