As we entered the restaurant, the warm, inviting decor instantly charmed us. The attentive host escorted us to a cozy booth overlooking a picturesque view. The menu showcased a fusion of flavors, and our dishes arrived like works of art. Each bite was a symphony of tastes that delighted our palates. The sommelier's recommendations perfectly complemented our meals. The staff's passion for their craft was evident, as they shared stories behind the dishes. The attention to detail and impeccable service made our dining experience truly exceptional, leaving us with memories to savor for a lifetime

Excellent venue. I had never been to an opera before and wasn't disappointed seeing "Tosca" in the Prag state opera house. A magical setting and equally magical experience. We had the pleasure of reserving seats in a box for very reasonable prices, just booked the day before the performance. The theatre is amazing, the sound of the singers anderen orchestra carries to everyone in the audience with no amplification. In the breaks and before the show you are free to roam around the theater, discovering balconies and the orchestra pit (for example in Hamburg at lion King security wouldn't even allow anyone near the orchestra). All in all Great experience and thanks to the sub-titles even I managed to follow the story

Prague State Opera is a gorgeous opera house! It is located very near the national museum in district 1. Built in the late 1800s this elegant house is an intimate setting for amazing presentations of various types of shows. I took my son to see Hansel and Gretel as his very first opera here, and he loved it! The production and craftsmanship was wonderful and the singing was first rate. He especially loved the witch :)

Freshly renovated building. By comparing to other European opera houses, Prague opera is below the average size and posh. The first rows in hall is acceptable for nice view and experience. Was quite impressed, that is possible to buy tickets in nice locations even week before performance.

Attending the opera salon yesterday was an absolutely enchanting experience. From the moment we entered the venue, it was evident that we were in for something special. The ambiance was elegant, creating the perfect backdrop for a night of culture and artistry. The ballet performance itself was nothing short of spectacular. The grace and precision of the dancers left the audience in a state of wonder. Their movements were like poetry in motion, conveying stories and emotions without uttering a word. Overall, the opera salon provided a magical evening of culture and art. It's a testament to the immense talent of the performers and the dedication of the entire production team. If you have the opportunity to attend such an event, I highly recommend it. It's an experience that will leave you with memories of a night filled with beauty, emotion, and sheer artistic brilliance.

Absolutely worth to visit. Beautiful building, Sleeping beauty the ballet by Tchaikovsky was stunning and mind-blowing with all the pretty costumes and perfect dancing. I was speechless. Make sure you have at least nice pair of shoes if you want to visit some performance, it’s really inappropriate to go there in sneakers. The artists and the building itself deserve some respect.

My first opera and it was truly amazing. I had the opportunity to watch a masterpiece - the songs were great and performers were super talented. Truly interesting and engaging. The acoustics of the hall was superb and views from the “box” seats were amazing as well. The halls were super tidy and seats were very comfortable. Overall, I would return to watch more opera.

Went here for the New Year's eve. Beautiful, newly renovated opera house with modern functionalities and stage. Can't understand Czech? They have the translation above the stage and in the touch screen at your seat. Enjoy 😉

Amazing performance! Im a little bit conservative towards to innovations in scenography, but this one was a very interesting one... To transform one the iconic opera in something ala musical Grease was very courageously. But why not?! Just hope one day I will able to see classic version as well. Anyway, theater look great after renovation and will amazing ultimate culture experience for you!

First time visiting an opera, and the experience was superb. Very friendly staff, professional treatment, and flawless organisation. The seats are very comfortable, and there were screen devices in front of the chairs with information about the cast, the content of the opera, as well as real-time subtitles in Czech, English, Russian, and German. All in all, well recommended a visit here

Great performance (ball im savoy from Paul Abraham for the new year eve 2023), helpful staff, affordable price, pretty decor. The setting of the operetta could have been better for the scene of the bedrooms.

A must see when in Prague. Booked our tickets last minute for La Traviata. Dress code: It wasn’t my first visit, I was surprised how many people were dressed very casually, some in jeans. I am not uptight about dress code, just on my previous visits people were dressed in full evening gala. Bar: there are no restaurants in the theatre, only bars. You can buy canapé style sandwiches Seating: stalls are not elevated, but auditorium is relatively small. You should be able to see from most of the seats. Avoid 2nd row in boxes, you might be abstracted by people seating in front of you. We sat on 1st balcony and had grand view of the stage. Perfect for me. Watch out for couple of seats on 1st balcony with obstructed view. Theatre itself is worth a visit. Allow yourself enough time to to peruse.

Wonderful night at the opera. The box seats aren't too expensive and it was a wonderful evening! It only loses stars because there simply isn't enough staff to accommodate the demand for drinks during the intermission. You have 20 minutes and if you arent lucky you can be left with 2 minutes to drink before the show commences (we weren't allowed bring our drinks back back our seats)

One of the amazing venues in Prague. Don't forget to book tickets in advance. For each play, there's a different translation option where you can see the subtitles above the stage or from the screens in front of each seat.

A gorgeous ornamental building with beautiful decor that corresponds with the architecture visible all over the old town area of Prague. The staff are very courteous and polite. I attended an opera - a first time experience for me. The subtitles in English above the stage, and in front of the seat, helped considerably and are a contemporary addition to a classical experience. The seats could be a little more comfortable considering the minimum length of time would be 2 hours for any show.

My wife and I just attended the opera La Traviata and well done for a magnificent performance held at such prestigious opera House.

As Christmas present, I bought two tickets for me and my girlfriend from the ticket office. Because my girlfriend is pregnant, doctors did not suggest her to be vaccinated, therefore I have asked if was possible to attend with a negative Covid test. “Yes” was the answer from the ticket office. However today we went at the opera house and were left out because they did not accept Covid tests. I am extremely disappointed for what happened: for the wrong information they gave us at the counter (or at the entrance in the opera), the poor customer treatment to me and to a pregnant lady, the waste of our time on Christmas Eve and the loss of money for the Covid test (1300 kc!). I really hope that such a bad experience won’t happen to anyone else.

Stunning building with beautiful interior. We went to Rusalka and the scene, the actors, and the live music were on a different level. Great experience, accessible even to english speaking viewers thanks to czech/english/german subtitle on each seat.

A highlight of a week in Prague was seeing an opera performed here (though unfortunately the subtitles malfunctioned). It’s a beautiful historic building so please try to dress up a bit if attending, don’t be that tourist. :)

If you want to have a cultural evening I really recommend state opera and their beautiful plays. You can see some known classics as well as modern type of plays. Most of them in high quality performance by the best actors of national theatre organization. It is also good to attend in formal dress code.

Neo-Rococo style architecture lived thru IIWW. Scarlet red velvet walls and elaborate gold tone design are supremely well maintained. Breathtaking!

The State Opera (Státní Opera) has been the leading opera house in Prague since 1945 and offers a highly polished repertoire of classics like Rigoletto, Madame Butterfly, and The Magic Flute. It was built in 1885 by the city’s German community and was initially known as the New German Theatre, built to rival the Czech National Theatre. I love the Neoclassical facade of the State Opera. The pediment above the columned loggia is adorned by a frieze featuring figures like Dionysus and Thalia. The interior is equally ornate and features intricate stucco work.

Absolutely spectacular! We watched Puccini’s La Boheme and we were blown away! We had a private balcony on the upper floor and the view and sound was amazing. I highly recommend this place if you have the time to spare for a show. Also the staff was very polite and helpful and the bathroom was clean.

Beautiful theatre, great performance. However, two half an hour breaks between acts was rather too much I think. It meant we got home very late, which, if you have to get up early for work the next day is not so good.

Our visit to the State Opera in Prague to watch "Carmen" was an exciting cultural experience. The opera house itself exuded elegance and history, creating a captivating atmosphere. However, I must admit that my fear of heights forced me to leave the performance early. The seating arrangements in the upper levels made me uncomfortable, and I couldn't fully enjoy the show as a result. Despite this setback, I appreciated the talent of the performers and the beauty of the venue, and I hope to return to the State Opera in the future with better seating arrangements.

When I am booking a city break, I always look at the the Opera schedule. The national opera houses across Europe are normally outstanding buildings. They are aesthetically pleasing and getting dressed up for a night is always a highlight. Richard Wagner's opera "The flying Dutchman" was the fayre last week. An excellent production, but woah! Such dark subject material! The interior of this building is simply amazing. The ornate and gilded decor of the auditorium is matched by the classy bar with the double doors out onto the balcony. The place is immaculate and the staff are commensurate with the environment. All in all, this place does not disappoint.

Gorgeous opera building from late 19th century. Newly reconstructed as of 2020. Part of the National theatre institution (incl. Estates theatre, National Theatre, New scene on the NT and the State opera) so you can buy the tickets on their webpage (you dont have to print them out, sufficient to just have them on your smartphone). Dresscode unfortunately not enforced, but PLEASE,don't be the odd moron who will walk in a historical opera building in a T-shirt or sneakers. Opera pieces have in general Czech and English subtitles both above the stage and on the screens attached to each seat. Changing rooms are for free of course, refreshment bars available and toilets are clean and functional. If you are above 185 cm, you might have issues folding your legs as the space at some places challenges that of the lowcost airlines.
