Great art gallery right in the middle of the Old Town Square. Routinely changes exhibits. Worth checking out if you’re tired if walking around/want to switch up your tourist attractions.

A small but fancy museum. I went to the impressionists’ exhibition. The paintings were of high artistic quality and social popularity, with captions easy to understand. The windows were closed especially to prevent sunlight and contribute to a constant surroundings of those paintings. Also the lightning setting is perfect for me to take photos with clear details seemingly impossible to get from such a distance. The after interactive section was well designed; pity so few people came and the final result was not that perceivable.

(Translated by Google) The largest collection in the country works of art, represented by sculptures, paintings, prints and icons. The National Gallery was formed in 1949, thanks to the merger of several previously created galleries ... Today, exhibitions are located in several historic buildings and palaces. Both in Prague and abroad. And the beginning was laid back in 1796 ... Originally proclaimed idea - artistic and aesthetic education and introduction to art of the widest possible layers population is still relevant and successfully resolved ... So, this one, is a bit of a tourist trap. The wife and I went for the Dali and Warhol exhibits. The wife loves Dali, I like Warhol, so win win. Meh So the Dali exhibit is made of lithographs. I don't think we actually saw a single original item that Dali may have touched. Now that's not a bad thing, but for the slightly higher price I would have liked to see an original. Now I'm no Dali expert and some of the sculptures may have been original and I'm more than willing to be corrected on that one. (In fact I'd love to be corrected because that would mean I'd seen an original Dali 😀) Now the Dali exhibit isn't bad, lots and lots of paintings, just copies. Now, with the Warhol exhibit, I kinda expected that. Warhol, mass produced art, kinda his whole idea. The Warhol exhibit was better, some actual real articles such as letters from family and some of the original records Warhol designed the covers for. No complaints there. In summary, not awful, just a tad overpriced I felt. But what do I know about art??

Huge! I didn't have enough time to see everything although I spent 3 hours in 2 floors. Also in the 3rd floor you can find 2 paintings of Picasso and 1 of van Goch

It was closed early without any explanation when the glass door showed it should be open till 6pm. I asked the ticket reception staff why they are closing early and if they have a different schedule, post the reason to the door for the tourists who keep arriving at 4pm. She said none of her concern. The security of course is getting angry for no reason. How backward it is!

(Translated by Google) I give one star for the employee's access to the visitors. Except for one nice lady (she has a star from me). The behavior of the local custodians has nothing to do with the rumors in the concentration camp. Dear ladies, I paid the entrance fee, quite high even for Prague conditions, and you are in the gallery for me, not me for you. So I can say for myself with a clear conscience that this was my last visit to this constitution - even if Mr. Rembrandt himself was there beautifully (exaggeration). I will not evaluate the exhibition itself, I do not understand art and it is everyone's subjective opinion of what he likes and what he does not. (Original) Jednu hvezdicku davam za pristup zamestnancu k navstevnikum. Az na jednu milou pani (ta ma ode me tu hvezdicku). Chovani zdejsich kustodek si v nicem nezada s bacharkami v koncentraku.

We planned our day to fit a visit into this historical art gallery at 4 PM, as it is stated that it closes at 6 PM both on the official site and on Google Maps. We found the doors locked, and a guard on the cafeteria said that "it's closed", with no reason whatsoever... We looked for news online and nothing came up, we called and no one answered. We are disappointed, to say the least!!!

(Translated by Google) The Rembrandt collection is interesting, but without a reservation system and tickets for a specific hour, we spent 3 throws outside standing in the cold in the queue. Reservation system is a must !!!! The Kinský Palace (Palác Kinských) lies on the eastern side of the Old Town Square and is one of the most beautiful buildings in Prague. Its gorgeous pink and white stuccoed Rococo facade are topped with statues of the four elements and was designed in 1765 by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer. The Rococo facade seems a little flamboyant in comparison to the soberer Baroque facades nearby. The palace is most notorious, however, as the venue of the fateful speech in 1948 by the Communist leader, Klement Gottwald. He used the palace’s balcony to address the thousands of enthusiastic party members who packed the square below. The speech marked the beginning of “Victorious February”, the bloodless coup which brought the Communists to power and sealed the fate of Czechoslovakia for the next 41 years. The Kinský Palace is now home to the National Gallery’s “Arts of Asia and Africa” exhibition.

Cozy little exhibition gallery in the heart of Prague. It's very centrally located at the Old Town Square and hard to miss. Usually you'll find changing exhibitions in this location, like the one about Asian art, when I was in town. It was free for me as a student on a Sunday, but it's usually not that pricey in comparison to other museums in European cities. The gallery itself wasn't crowded at all when I was there and had a very calm and relaxing atmosphere overall. The exhibited pieces were presented in a very professional way with plenty of information to read. Worth a visit if you're interested in the current exhibition.

(Translated by Google) An exhibition of prints by Václav Hollar with an interesting excursion into his life "on the road". I would welcome more of all those towns and landscapes of more works with period fashion clothing, which V. Hollar also very faithfully captured. Přivítala bych mezi všemi těmi městy a krajinami více děl s dobovou oděvní módou, kterou V. (Translated by Google) Very nice, too bad that one of the most beautiful paintings contained in the museum was, for no apparent reason, put in storage although sponsored by the museum's gift shop itself. It is a work by Egon Schiele, I think also among the most beautiful. The absence of the picture and the poor quality of route management lead me to not give more than a couple of stars.

Selection of art for the Impressionists exhibition was sufficient to understand the movement for the non artsy person. They had an interactive light and object section which helps to perceive the nature of the artist work and vision. Waiting line was short. Highly recommend, just make sure the current exhibition is suiting your taste

(Translated by Google) As for the Rembrandt exhibition, I think that the current situation has had a lot of effect on the quality of the exhibits. Unusually cramped spaces in the gallery, further exacerbated by the installation of various false walls, so that the room with five people seems crowded. I didn't enjoy it much. Unculturally: when I give 280 CZK for a ticket, I don't expect them to want another twenty on the urinal.

(Translated by Google) Rembrandt's exhibition was an amazing, except for one fundamental, spoiling fact, which was the behavior of the exhibition of the guard staff, most of whom were women with Eastern European accents. We were constantly reprimanded in some way to have the veil worn correctly, not to look at the paintings too close (despite the veil), we were not even allowed to have a low voice, etc. I wonder who selects such staff and where? So unfortunately I am no longer interested in visiting this place, regardless of the quality of the exhibiting works of art. Zajímalo by mě, kdo a kde takovýhle personál vybírá? Takže bohužel už toto místo nemám zájem navštívit, bez ohledu na kvalitu vystavujících uměleckých děl.
