Delusional self-promotion by a rich American family for an exorbitant fee. Lobkowicz Palace holds a single Bruegel hostage so that visitors are forced to walk through several floors containing nothing but mediocre portraits of their family members and some rifles and plates. Other than Haymakers there is nothing in this gallery worth seeing. It is not clear why anyone is expected to care about the works inside this museum unless they are a Lobkowicz family fanatic, which is clearly what is is expected of the visitor. Information about the artist is even passed over in the descriptions of paintings in favour of some blurb about what affairs one of the Lobkowiczes was having at the time. Not worth the entry fee and I regret going. Unless you want to look at 300 severely inbred Lobkowiczes and some bad art that happened to be in their collection I would not recommend it.

A must see while in Prague. Beautiful Palace and tour with outstanding historical artifacts. Audio guide is available with multiple languages. What made it very personal for me was the narration by Willie Lobkowicz (a family with a 700 year history). He tells very personal stories about his family history. The views from the balcony are amazing. So glad we finally came to see this museum. It is very special and tells a very personal story about a Czech family with deep political and historical impact.

Great audio guide, very "personalized". I really appreciated free admission for Ukrainians, honoring Ukraine in the first floor exhibition, and special thanks for having a dog room! Every museum must have a dog room!

Exceeds my highest expectation. Not to be missed if you visit Prague Castle. The balcony and the terrace cafe have excellent view on the city. The exhibition highlights include original manuscripts of Beethoven’s third and fifth symphony. The free audio tour also covers the city and its landmarks. You can even enjoy a midday classical music concert if you visit on specific days. Highly recommend!

Leave early because you have to get through security to enter Lobkowicz Palace. 30 mins are plenty of time to arrive and find good seating. I bought the tickets from GetYourGuide. The concert location is on the left side. Once you enter, you have to show your tickets to the front desk. Make sure to put your phone in silent mode. The concert was decent we had only three musicians come and perform. Afterward, you can walk around and enjoy the museum. If you are a fan of classical music, check it out. For me, it was a one-time experience. I wouldn't do it again.

It's a very well kept and beautiful palace. I went to the classical music concert which was excellent. The space was decorated with amazing art work and it was an intimate setting. I highly recommend seeing the classical concerts there. It's only £38 for two tickets and lasts an hour. Plus you can see the rest of the museum after which has a beautiful balcony on the top floor that overlooks Prague.

This review is for the chamber music / concert at the palace. 45 minutes: The three musicians for piano, violin 🎻 and flute start at 1:05 and done by 1:50. A perfect room for a chamber music (no air conditioning, I think …) but wished they played more serious pieces than what they did. Too popular (For Alice … seriously?!), like plain water. If not coffee ☕️ , at least serve some tea 🍵, will you please? The audience seems more educated than the concert in the churches on the ground we attended yesterday, like the Clementium.

Spectacular, amazing museum! One of the most valuable places at Prague. The personal collections were impressive and priceless! Do not miss the opportunity to appreciate the historical art work and listen to stories behind them. As a bonus you will have stunning view at the balcony!! It was unfortunate that on the day of my visit the concert was cancelled due to some personal reasons but I truly believe the experience will be amazing!! A must-go in Prague where you could see a profound Prague!

The palace is smaller than I expected but so more ornate and opulent. The concert hall has impressive frescos and impressive acoustics. If you only have time for one concert, I'd heartily recommend attending this concert. I mean, how often can one say that the last concert one attended was at the Lobkowicz Palace? The palace entrance is pretty non descript and is the last door on the right as you go down the lane to leave Prague Castle

The staff was nice. You get an digital audio guide with your ticket. Admissions are pretty expensive and in my opinion too high for what you can see inside. Ninety percent of things inside are portraits of members of the Lobkowicz family. That said the audio tour was somewhat boring. There are a few paintings and other things that are really worth seeing (not portraits of family members). In overall not a must see in this part of town.

(Korean-American perspective) This place is a must see when in Prague. Architecture is magnificent and ambience is spiritual. It's quite a hike, though, so be prepared with water and sunglasses if you're visiting during sunny seasons.

Amazing and worth the walk although we got a tourist bus there. The museum is fantastic. There are first scores from Mozart and Beethoven there amongst some great paintings including Canaletto's two huge paintings of London opposite each other. So worth a look and an hour or so. A great view of Prague to from the veranda too.

When you are in Prag city centre with kids, this is ideal place to make a break. The playground is clean and safe. A fantastic view is for free:-) All you need to do is to make sure you have a bottle of water and at least some small bites fr kids with you. Rest rooms are a challenge, so you need to be quite creative. Right next to a playground there is a posh restaurant and in the neighborhood you can buy coffee to go and take away bites & meals. With this said you have also an option to use a rest room.

Multiple languages audio guided tour for the Czech royal family! Many art, painting, armor and music instruments which displayed throughout the different floors for the residents which still lives in here! The mid-day classic concerts is a must! We also very much enjoyed the cafe here, coffee, food and dessert all very good.

It’s a well put together museum. A bit expensive, but you also get the audio guide. I think it’s nice the personal touch, the fact that the Lobkowicz family is the one that presents what you see. The terrace is amazing, don’t miss it!

This museum is one of the better ones I've been to on my European trip. We got the audio guide that was self paced and that was perfect and added so much knowledge to the experience. The museum featured such good paintings, instruments, wares and so much more. The audio guide taught me so much and really brought all the things I was seeing to life. Honestly, this was among the top things I did in Prague. I had no idea how big the museum was going to be until I went inside. Be sure to visit all the different exhibits and both sides of the museum. The concert takes place daily earlier in the day and sadly we missed it so that was a bummer. Definitely plan appropriately! The room is gorgeous and I bet a concert would've been amazing! Highly recommend!

Lobkowicz Palace is truly one of the gems of the Czech Republic. Nestled in the heart of Prague this historic palace stands as a testament to the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the country. As a visitor from France, I was deeply impressed by its grandeur and the exquisite art collections it houses. The panoramic views of the city from the palace are simply breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of Prague's skyline. The audio guide, narrated by the Lobkowicz family themselves, provides a personal touch, making the experience even more memorable. So, the palace's concerts in the Baroque concert hall are a treat for music lovers, and the on-site café offers a delightful spot to relax and soak in the ambiance. Truly, Lobkowicz Palace is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Prague, showcasing the best of Czech history, art, and architecture.

A nice residence/palace of a prominent Czech noble family inside Prague Castle, now returned to the original family after the fall of the iron curtain. It contains one of the Bruegel paintings on the seasons (3 are in Vienna, one in New York) and two nice Canaletto paintings. There is an original manuscript of Beethoven’s 3rd symphony (Eroica) dedicated to one of the Lobkowicz’s ancestors. There is also a spectacular view of Prague from the terrace. Worth a visit if you have time.

Royal portraits. Nice paintings of different things. Music, armour, cutlery and more collections. The music concert with Piano, violin and flute was a nice experience. Listening to popular classical music pieces performed in a small hall (with 50 people capacity maybe) was immersive.

What a nice surprise! I was disappointed by Prague Castle but this place saved everything. It's a really nice museum with a friendly staff. The gave us guide audio so we can learn more about what we see. It was really interesting! Although for a Palace I was expecting more rococo architecture, it was still very nice. I really appreciated the room with the dogs. You can't walk past this! Also at the end of the visit there's an amazing view on Prague. You can't miss that!

Amazing attraction to visit. The castle's current owners narrate the story of their ancestors and the castle. You can see the history unfold in front of you and hear it from people who lived it. A remarkable experience indeed. The personnel/service is also very helpful and kind, which is a huge plus. Do also visit the inner castle with the St. Vitus cathedral of which I am attaching a photo.

(Translated by Google) This restaurant is on the to-do list every time you visit Prague. I not only like the beautiful inner courtyard, sitting on the balcony / terrace at Aperol Spritz is wonderfully relaxing. During this year's visit I ordered an apple strudel, which was also delicious. (The sandwiches are also recommended) However, I overlooked the fact that walnuts are also used here .... this led to an asthmatic allergy attack .... after 10 minutes and many bad looks, the terrace was empty. Positive: we were really calm, negative: it showed that Corona has obviously already caused damage in many brains. In any case, top local! Jedenfalls Top Lokal!

(Translated by Google) A very nice exhibition. The variety, structure and space match. The audio guide in different languages provides a comprehensive and instructive insight into the past of the Lobkowicz family. Numerous grindings, including one of the meninas, and much more. Also handwritten notes by Mozart and others and some instruments of the time can be found here. The museum is not overcrowded, which allows a relaxed walk. Another highlight is the accessible terrace, which offers a fantastic view of Prague. Point deduction for the lack of air conditioning in the rooms. (Translated by Google) I definitely recommend visiting the beautiful Lobkowicz Palace. Tourists can access both the palace's exposition on the 1st and 2nd floors as a separate tour or the tour can be combined with a classical music concert. You can also visit a restaurant / cafe with a beautiful terrace and views of Prague. The palace was built in the 16th century. As part of the tour, you can see the concert hall, dog and bird lounge, many family paintings from the Lobkowicz family, their amazing pedigree, the Infant Jesus of Prague, a jewel box, weapons, etc ... The palace is breathtaking❤. Very beautiful place especially open to the public. I appreciate the audio recordings spoken by the owners themselves, they give the place a huge authenticity and an incredible connection between the past and the present. V rámci prohlídky lze shlédnout koncertní sál, psí a ptačí salónek, množství rodinných obrazů z rodů Lobkowiczů, jejich úžasný rodokmen, Pražské Jezulátko, klenotnici, zbraně, atd... Palác je úchvatný❤. Velmi krásné místo osobitě zpřístupněné veřejnosti. Oceňuji audio nahrávky namluvené samotnými majiteli, dodávají místu obrovskou autentičnost a neuvěřitelné propojení minulosti s přítomností.

(Translated by Google) Small park on the island of Kampa where we made our children (5 and 8 years old) stretch, among the various visits to the Prague monuments. It is very important for us to give these stops to the little ones who would otherwise find it hard to keep up with them all day. In this park, clean and tidy, there are beautiful games suitable for various ages, a sandbox, benches to enjoy the view and keep an eye on the children. To mark if you are traveling as a family.

(Translated by Google) Pleasant sitting and a beautiful view of Charles Bridge. If you buy a drink, sitting on the benches is one of the best on the Little Side. (Translated by Google) Very beautiful and pleasant playground. A lot of people do not know him, so he's not overcrowded. Over the summer there is pleasant air thanks to the nearby Vltava River. They have drinking water to refresh. I like to go with my son, sit on the grass, watch the steamers and the Charles Bridge. (Original) Velmi krásné a příjemné hřiště. A private art collection, with exhibits from various fields: painting, music, religion, ceramics, weapons, etc. They have a terrace with a very beautiful view of the city. There is also a cafe where you can dine or drink something (a bit expensive ...)

The audio guide is extremely well done. It brings the history to life. The view and audio explanation of the view from the terrace was superlative! My husband and I spent 2 1/2 hours in the Lobkowicz Palace and loved every minute!

Mid-day concert in the picturesque Baroque Room was conducted by 3 very experienced musicians. The castle is great with antique paintings and great acoustics. I would have turned the “stage” away from the Windows as strong sunshine coming from outside, totally blocks the view of the musicians, which a 180-degree turn would have amplified, but this is a small detail as the experience is still great. Expect waiting time for X-ray and screening entering the castle.

Well as a fan of classical music I came here to see the Beethoven manuscripts and it was precisely the music room that was being revamped or the exhibits were borrowed, I don't know. Felt very sad for this but can't rate the museum with other than a five because even without those it still was a great experience It is very well organized and presented chronologically with plenty of exhibits and a wonderful audio guide. The palace is beautiful with decorated ceilings and stunning views of the city

The art in the gallery is really beautifull and the masterpieces in the gallery are worth the entrance fee alone. The collection is well displayed in a modern museum with an audio guide that explains the history behind the paintings very well. There is also a classical music concert wich you can attend for a very reasonable fee.

Wonderful place to start or end your stroll around Pražský hrad as it’s located just next to entrance gate. The entrance is 290 kron and totally worth - most important to you take audio guide. That’s one of the palaces which belongs to living descendants of Lobkowitz family. It’s very interesting to have a look inside as you feel not like in a regular public museum. It’s more like to be a guest in a very old and noble house! Check the open air terrace you would have an amazing view of Prague. In museums shop except regular souvenirs they also sell great quality reprints of antiques maps, European and world maps as well. Cafe works till 6 pm, same as a museum.

Very beautiful palace, with an audioguide automatically included in your ticket. Ticket affordable for students. It's definitely worth a visit: the history of this family is so captivating, and rare objects such as Mozart's or Beethoven's music sheets are beautifully exposed. The museum is very clean and easy to navigate through. You have also access to the terrace where you can have a view of the whole city from above. I recommend a thousand times!!

Very nice museum with beautiful paintings from 1600-1800 and more. The fine porcelain wears were breathtaking. The museum has beautiful ceiling arts and a balcony with a great view. And a free toilet is included in the admission fee (ask the staff for the code).

Really great collection of a high aristocracy living standards through the Holy Roman Empire going back through 15th century. For those that are interested in genuine historic artefacts and a story that goes along with them, you can spend hours here. We took about two hours to go through with the included audio guide but you can take longer if you delve deeper into the individual items, their history, and the historical context behind them. We were here in shoulder season and it was not busy but I would probably recommend getting tickets ahead of time in peak season.

Wonderful museum with a delightful collection of paintings, ceramics, armoury, musical instruments, and sheet music from the collection of the Czech royal family. The audio guide is wonderful, the terrace offers stunning views, and every day at 13:00 there's a 60 minute classical music concert, which I *highly* recommend! It transported us to the times of kings and queens, of Czech royalty and the flourishing city of Prague. A wonderful experience that was the highlight of our trip to Prague!

  • 5/5 Joy D. 7 months ago on Google
Phenomenal experience. There are amazing displays of art and weaponry. There are original musical scripts by Beethoven and others. It’s not as crowded as the castle. I highly recommend this experience!

Located in the Prague Castle, but you have to buy a separate ticket there (or just visit it on its own altogether). The collection consists mainly of portraits of the Lobkowicz family, but halfway through the exhibition you'll find the stunning "The Hay Harvest" by Bruegel the Elder. At the end of your visit, you can access the balcony with some of the best views of the city. As much as the Castle area was filled to the brim with tourists, we had the Lobkowicz Palace to ourselves. Definitely worth it.

A palace where portraits and belongings of the Lobkowitcz family are exhibited. It was nice, but if your time is limited, the royal palace and the cathedral should be your priority. At the end of the exhibition there is a terrace with a beautiful view of the city. Also the audiguide is free of charge. There was a concert so I did not see the concert room it could be better to visit 1 PM. Since the concerts starts at 1 pm
