This tour came highly recommended by my brother and sister-in-law and it certainly didn't disappoint. Our small-ish group of 10 people really lent itself to getting to know everyone and being able to hear and interact with our guide, Marketa who was funny, charming and informative and her love for her city and wanting to share it with everyone really shone through. The amount of walking was perfect, taking us into some different areas that we would probably have missed. And the food! A fantastic variety of both food and drink and plenty of both. Do this tour as you get to Prague for a good lay of the land, or do it towards the end to see some areas you might have missed. Just do it!

My husband and I did the "Foodie" tour the evening of our first full day in Prague and we are so happy we did! It was our favorite thing we did on a two week European vacation. Martin, our guide, was so knowledgeable about the food and Czech history. He also worked at the butcher shop we went to! Overall, I highly suggest doing this tour!

With our tour guide Karolina we felt as though we had an inside friend in Prague who showed us all the coolest places! She was a great hostess who was charismatic, witty and smart. Made sure we were well taken care of... she explained everything we needed to know about food and it’s relation to the history of Prague. This food tour was definitely a great way to get to know Prague. Highly recommend!

Wow! We had an amazing experience with this foodie tour and highly recommend it. The tour was very well organized and our host was extremely charming and knowledgeable - and, of course, the food was fantastic! They picked out great restaurants from different parts of the city, selected a wonderful array of delicious foods to try (and beverages) - plus offered interesting background on the foods, the city and the country.

What a complete delight the Prague Foodie Tour was! From the moment Marketa arrives, you know you are in for a fun filled experience with someone who is passionate about food and about her guests having a fantastic time. She says that she will treat you like your Italian Nona would and that accurately describes her tour. First, she has memorized everyone’s name before she arrives and then proceeds to teach you about the culture of Prague through food. She seamlessly made sure everyone’s particular needs were accommodated from dietary restrictions to physical limitations. She took us to 4 locations and there was so.much.food and drinks. Even when we didn’t love a particular dish, Marketa made you understand how it connected to Prague culture and/or history in a way that was really interesting and entertaining. The tour included pub food (and beer), a butcher shop, a tram ride to an inventive new restaurant re- imaging traditional Czech dishes and finally, to a delightful bakery. Sorry there are no pictures, but I realized after the fact that we were so completely engaged in the tour that we didn’t take very many pictures. Also, for others who are in a wheelchair, this tour was made completely wheelchair accessible in a way that was both unobtrusive and very welcoming. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Prague.

We really lucked into this tour. We had booked a tour with a larger company that cancelled on us after we arrived in Prague (very last minute). We did a little searching and found this tour. Our great good fortune. Having spoken with some other Canadian tourists who went on some other tours, the experience we had far surpassed theirs. My recommendation is to stay away from the large companies and do this tour. Jan was an absolutely fabulous guide. The food tour itself was wonderful. We have been on more than a twenty other food tours in different Cities around the world and this is far and away the best. The choice of places to eat was outstanding. The drinks (and I am a non-drinker, so Jan found alternatives for me) were absolutely excellent. My wife, who is not a big drinker, really enjoyed the choices of alcoholic drinks. Jan provided history and context for the food and drinks, and the places we ate at. He gave us insights into Czech life, politics, evolution of restaurants and food in the Czech Republic, and all with some personal context. He provided a list of recommendations that had sufficient descriptions of restaurants, shopping, and other activities that it was actually useful (not just some indecipherable Google map like some other tours give). We ate at a number of the places Jan recommended and went back to a couple of the places we visited on our tour. Jan really added quality to our trip to Prague beyond the tour itself. His sense of humour and general kindness to others really made this experience better. The food experience was heightened by the good company. The others on the tour were very nice people, visiting from a variety of places. Probably a function of attracting what we give. Jan also provided some advice to us for Berlin when the same large company also cancelled our food tour there a couple days ahead. We will actually take this very same tour again when we come back to Prague. Can’t say enough good things about this tour.

A truly fantastic tour. We did both tours with them. Just a heads up it seems substantially overpriced compared to other food tours.

Taste of Prague was an amazing food tour. We travel a lot and take a food tour in almost every city we visit. In my opinion it's the quickest way to learn about a city and it's culture. This tour was probably the best food tour we've ever been on.

We booked a tour via the website and was sent an email with a link to pay the a deposit. Tried paying the deposit but the link was not working. Tried emailing and calling and when I finally got trough they said they would send a new deposit link as they have had some problems with the system and that the reservation was still valid, so we should not worry. Later I received an email that they where now fully booked because someone who booked after us was now able to use the deposit link. Probably a good tour judging by other reviews but a horrible booking system. We had looked forward to this and the cancellation is a huge bummer. Edit: Judging by the response from the owner, it would seem that we remember differently, or that you left out some small details. I did indeed call you on the day of the tour, saying that the payment link did not work, to which you confirmed that the spots where still open, and that you would send a new payment link. You seem to have left this out of your answer to my original review. I tried doing the payment the day before, but since it was evening time, and did not work, I decided to try again the next day, when that still did not work, I called you. You specifically said that you had had some troubles with the payment system the last couple of days, and apologized for that. Later that day you called me back, saying that the spots where actually not open anymore, since another couple had paid. You where not aware of this, since you did not handle the bookings. At no time did you mention that the other couple had paid before I called, giving me the impression that your booking system randomly started working again, and someone else managed to pay, thus claiming the spots. Feel free to take a stand, but at least mention all the facts. My review was not written out of spite, and trying to make it sound that way by leaving out details does not seem very professional. It is also not very professional to ask people to follow "clear instructions" when those instructions leads to a booking system that at the time did not work, which you, yourself confirmed. I already stated that the food and quality of your tour is probably fine judging by other reviews, but maybe, just maybe, it is time to revisit your 7 year old booking system.

Just go! Honestly, this was a great introduction to food in Prague and Prague in general. It was just about the perfect walking/food tour. We had a very knowledgeable (and talkative) guide who really knew her food and her city. The food and drink along the way was very tasty, and even though not everything was Czech (Asian Fusion!) it was all very well prepared and delicious. The group size was about 10 - and we enjoyed getting to know the other travelers along the tour. Our guide was very willing to share her knowledge of anything she knew about Prague and the area - even to offering her e-mail if we had questions later on. This tour even included a free guide-book which we have been using for shopping and dining going forward. My only regret is that I just didn't have the room to do the desserts justice at the end! We went back to our airbnb and collapsed for a while. Don't make the mistake of eating before this tour - you'll be sorry!

WOW!!!!! I have done food tours all over the world and this was my favorite by far. The pride that this company and our amazing guide Karolina took in the tour is truly unmatched. From start to finish, this tour was informative, exciting, surprising, and delicious. We had basically full meals and drinks everywhere we went and it was obvious that nothing was spared to give us the full experience. The places we visited were either places I would have a) never found on my own or b) would not have been able to understand their significance without the tour. This tour helped shaped my entire Prague getaway, and the guide book we were gifted at the end was filled with countless incredible suggestions to build the rest of my vacation. The guides and the company really make you feel so comfortable and treat you like you're family. Thank you THANK YOU for the warm and wonderful experience!!!!

Before we even got to the country, the people at ToP were emailing to let us know they would be happy to help with arrangements to see particular things we might be interested in, or to stay in their rental place. I had Prague on my bucket list and I was intent on seeing everything in town. Martin took our little group to a local pub and we sampled tons of things that we would NOT have known to order. Then off to the butcher shop, which is apparently the hip new place to hang out at night before you order your food to take home. Then we went to a crazy ancient wine bodega and tried Czech wine. Then off to a North Korean restaurant for watermelon with pork belly. Then on a tram to the cool new spot for Czech Nouveau - SO tasty. I don't want to bore you with our details, but the tour was extraordinary, and it was great to ask any questions you could think of, and to get very intelligent, thoughtful answers. Most of us were really satisfied with the amount of food and booze and we also had one lady who wasn't consuming booze, and she had a great time too. The food itself was beyond delicious and interesting and hit all the hopes I had for Prague. At the end of the tour they gave us a great little book of information about Prague and also followed up with emails about the rest of our trip to Cesky Krumlov and to Vienna. Certainly they know the food in all that part of the country. I am firmly convinced that the Czech Republic is populated with fantastic, fun, problem-solving entrepreneurs who truly want to make our trips there wonderful.

We were on a tour of Germany and decided to detour to Prague for a couple of days. Not knowing what to do and a little overwhelmed by all the touristy things to do, we discovered Taste Of Prague while looking around at various tours that caused us to search " food tours Prague". After a little communication back and fourth we were sold and booked our tour about a month in advance. We arrived at the meeting place for 4PM. It was a small group of us 9 including our incredible guide Karolina. I would ask for her she was so good at her job. Passionate about great food and so knowledgable about everything and then some. We set off on feed about 30 metres from the meeting place to our first of many establishments. Traditional Czech pub food, quality Czech beer ( sooo good ) and a bit of a history lesson. We proceeded afterwards to a number of places I won't get into them all and spoil it but I can tell you we ate like locals, not tourists. We walked the old streets and neighbourhoods were you won't find crowds of people. We ate at a butcher, drank spirits at a craft cocktail bar, ate artisan bread, desserts and more. We got meet some other interesting people, had some laughs and walked away at the end of the night feeling so grateful and happy we chose to book this tour. In all honesty, we also went back to our hotel and booked it again for the second night. I cannot recommend this tour company and their guide Karolina enough. We will always have fond memories of not only our trip to Prague but also this tour. After the tour you will receive an email with the details of all the food stops, a map of where to eat and what to do in Prague and more. If you ever return to Prague they will send you an updated version free of charge. The value they provide is outstanding. If we ever return to Prague we will book again without hesitation.

If you’re even considering this tour, please do yourself a favor and book it! Since this was our first time to Prague, we wanted to make sure to get a true authentic food experience. Karolina was our guide and her knowledge and passion for Czech food was overwhelming in the best way possible. We had five stops that covered multiple different dishes, cocktails, and dessert. Would absolutely do this tour again in the future - thank you Karolina for a wonderful evening!

This is an amazing tour and definitely should be the top of your list when visiting Prague! All we can say is wow! Karolina was an incredible guide. The food and drinks were amazing and we had so much fun. The highlight of the tour was learning and trying various traditional food and drinks in some lovely restaurants. We have then since revisited some of the restaurants as we loved them so much. The tour also takes you out of the main touristy area allowing us to explore greater Prague. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you Karolina!

This raised the bar for all tours for my wife and I. We had an incredible time! Fun and tons of awesome food we never could have found/tried on our own. You will leave very full and very happy! We also got to see many parts of the city we otherwise never would have seen. Anna was cool and fun and took really great care of everybody - she truly went out of her way to make sure everyone had a really good time and had lots of fun stories and information. This was a bit expensive but was easily worth every penny. If you can get get a spot - go for it!!!

Absolute pleasure. One of, if not the best way to see some cool parts of Prague and experience their cuisine like the locals do. The tour guides are phenomenal before, during, and after your tour and you will NOT leave hungry. Jan and Eva were fantastic and open to talking about all of Czech Republic be it food, coffee, insurance, elections, what be it!

Let me start by saying that in all the best ways, this is a very professional operation. They have a really efficient and effective system in place (reaching out, deposit, setting up your tour, and tour day), but there is also a very human touch to this group. And by buying a ticket to the tour, you actually end up getting much, much more. Once I signed up for the tour, ToP sent me their professionally designed and curated booklet of restaurants, shopping, and sight seeing recommendations. I used this book in conjunction with my Lonely Planet to plan my trip. As it turns out, ToP’s choices beat out lonely planet’s recommendations across the board. As well, Jan made himself available to offer me personal recommendations via email before I had even met him. So the service extends far beyond just the food tour. Really. As for the tour day itself, the hosts are extremely knowledgeable and humorous. There is no shortage of insights and anecdotes. The food selections are excellent; exactly what a food-obsessed tourist would like to see. They have arrangements with all the spots they go to so that service is seemless: show up, sit down, talk about the location, eat, roll out. By keeping it so time efficient, you get to see a large swath of town on foot, especially some areas you wouldn’t make it to otherwise, but I never felt rushed. Lastly, as a solo traveler with only English language skills, this was a fun chance to meet some like minded people while in Prague. I made a couple of friends on the tour, and we continued the adventure that night. I highly recommend the tour; as I look back or tell people about Prague, the ToP food tour stands out as the thing I like to talk about most.

Thanks to Taste of Prague I ate my way through this city and never took a misstep. The tour comes with a small booklet of different suggestions for you to try. It is stylishly designed and full of funny asides and genuinely useful tips for what to order, how to make sure you get a seat, and how to partake in the Prague food culture. Jan, one of the co-owners, was in charge of our tour and kept us extremely well fed, informed, and entertained. One of the things I have to say, this is so much more than a food tour. Conversation ranged from politics, Czech issued how to raise your baby guidebooks, football, and a whole host of other fascinating topics. Jan was a fascinating person and getting to hear about his life in Prague and how he has seen the food scene change over the course of the last ten years was incredible. Absolutely would recommend to everyone coming through Prague!

  • 5/5 Michael R. 5 years ago on Google
Martin provided an absolutely tremendous tour; we actually hit a couple of places (Nase Maso and the wine shop) the next day because we enjoyed them so much. The food and drink at every stop were tremendous, and Martin really made it a lot of fun. Even though we had a fairly large group (10 people) it didn't seem like it, as Martin is very skilled at bringing everyone into the conversation. The recommendations from the Taste of Prague guidebook, blog and Martin were also very helpful. We had a tremendous lunch at Carpe Diem in Salzburg, a very nice dinner with Hungarian wines at Bock Bistro in Budapest, etc. My wife was also a fan of many of the shopping recommendations. I got questions/comments from our food tour guide and hotel concierge wondering how I had such a good list of things to see and do in Budapest since so many were a bit under the radar. ToP really has things nailed and I would definitely go back to Prague just to be able to hang out with Martin and his crew for awhile longer!!

I did the Taste of Prague Food Tour a year ago and it was, hands down, the best food tour I’ve ever been on! Since then, I’ve recommended to everyone I know who’s visiting Prague. The different types of Czech food you get to try, from super traditional to modern Czech cuisine and some are even vegetarian were absolutely eye opening! We went to little shops that were for quick bites, to sit-down dinners and enjoyed some traditional Czech duck dishes to a restaurant that’s Czech inspired but totally vegetarian! (If you think about it, no one ever thinks of veggies when they think of Prague) Not to mention, at the end of the tour, they give you a booklet of all the best (73 to be exact) places to visit in Prague, including the ones that you visited during the tour! I suggest you do the tour on your first night in Prague! That way you’ll have plenty of time to check out the list during the rest of your stay! Did I forget to mention how AMAZING this food tour was? If you’re truly a foodie, or just someone who really enjoys eating (I mean who doesn’t...) you seriously cannot miss this!

What a wonderful experience with our Taste of Prague guide - Martin! Martin took us to places we would have never found on our own and he introduced us to an amazing range of food and experiences. This is a must do for anyone who enjoys experiencing food in other countries. We even got a copy of their book that highlights the 124 best places you must try in Prague.

We went on a Saturday night tour with Marketa as our guide. It was truly an amazing experience. The tour stopped at 6 locations and the guide explained everything from the food to the building and more. This was something I was on the fence about and booked last minute—I’m so glad I did! It definitely added value to my trip and gave me a perspective I would not have gotten on my own. I will definitely do another Taste of Prague Tour when I come back.

My girlfriend and I have done food tours all over the US and Europe and thought the Prague tour was one of the best. Our guide, Karolina, was fun and informative. The restaurants we visited were varied and gave us a great sense of the food scene in Prague. The food portions were more than generous as was the beer and wine. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Prague.

I had such an incredible time on the Taste of Prague food tour. I learned so much about Prague overall and the food was incredible. Our guide was also able to give us additional recommendations for the other cities we were visiting. My only wish was that I was able to do the tour on my first day in Prague, but they book up quickly!

Absolutely the best food tour we have been on, and we have been on many of them. Martin was amazing as a guide and every one of the 4 stops had like 5 or more dishes to taste along with beer or another cocktail and great stories about the spot and the food. Highly recommended.

A fantastic food tour that showcases old and new Czech dishes. The guide was a lot of fun and provided history insights along the way. We didn’t just get small samples, we got full dishes - Expect to leave very satisfied! Plenty of drinks were provided too to try local beer, wine, and spirits. No better way to see the city.

What can I say? After reading all of the reviews, we had high hopes and somehow Martin still exceeded expectations. Great food, great beer, great company. One of the best food tour experiences I’ve had in Europe, if not the best.

Karolina was amazing and the tour was incredible. It feels like hanging out with friends and not doing a touristy experience. Found Taste of Prague online in search of food tours. Their sense of humor was evident and Karolina makes you feel like an old friend. There were 5 of us and a couple of people had food restrictions and they were all accommodated with no fanfare. We decided to do this small wine tour in Moravia. 2 days, 1 night. We visited 4 different wineries, Villa Tugendhat and some nice places for coffee. The 4 wineries were different, for example we visited Sonberk (higher production, bigger facilities) and Petr Kočařík (smaller one, more familiar), so we could have completely contrasting experiences. As foreigners, we really appreciated to go into the small ones and meet directly the person behind those wines. It felt really local. Our guide was Jan. Very interactive, with a lot of knowledge about the region. We had some nice chats and he even gave us some tips about Prague. He provided us with some fresh water and some snacks both days. All was well organised and I liked that I felt as it was a small escape with "friends" than an actual tour with a guide. We learnt a lot, spending a wonderful time with amazing people that we just met.

This is a MUST! Seriously! Jan was our guide who was down to Earth, spoke better English than myself, was honest and enlightening. Not only do you discover some great food, you learn about the origin too. As you go through this food journey, you find out the interesting facts of the Czech culture. Jan told us that no question was off limits and he was right! I asked so many questions and never felt unsure for asking. We also picked up their book. Every recommendation, no lie, was on point. You can tell they take their business seriously and want their customers to get the full effect. My wife and I will always treasure our time with Taste of Prague. If you read this, Jan and Zuzi, thank you!

The first thing we did when we got into town was go on the Taste of Prague Food tour. This was the best decicsion we could have made. Our tour guide Markéta was incredible. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate about food which made the tour even better. We ate so much delicious food we more than got our moneys worth. At the end of the tour they also gave us a booklet of the 77 best places to try in Prague. The guide became our new bible, leading to an amazing experience. I can not recommend this tour enough, it is the must do activity when you are visiting Prague!

When I think of what I want to receive on a food tour, I think about charismatic guide who is knowledgeable and shares a passion for great food, a excellent selection of stops that deliver a nice over view of the country/ city we are experiencing, food wise, and a superb selection of wine and beers plus a host who is able to provide recommendations and other must see places while in town!! Taste of Prague did not disappoint and both my husband and I feel this is the tour that all other food tours will be measured upon. From the moment we booked we knew we made the right decision. The team at Taste of Prague made booking easy, with heaps of information about the city and where to meet. Their follow up to any questions you may have was excellent - top class customer service. When we arrived Jan was super informative, charismatic and a wealth of foodie knowledge but also knowledge of the history of the city! He was funny and really welcoming, Jan immediately put everyone’s mind at ease and set the tone for the rest of the day! Every stop we went to was well thought out and provided an excellent flow to the day. The food we ate was beyond delicious, and I do recommend stretchy pants for the day!! Every bite was Prague on a plate and really enjoyable. At the end of the tour we were provided with recommendations of what was around our final destination, directions to get back to the Main Street, along with the Taste of Prague booklet which became our holiday bible. The brewery that Jan recommended that we stopped in on the way home was some of the best beers we have ever tasted. My husband is also a convert on how beer should be poured! We also made some excellent friends on this tour that we spent the evening with and caught up again while in Prague. We ate burgers at Nase Maso, and Jan we agree these were the best burgers we have ever eaten! So thank you for the hot tip!! We used our bible to track down great foodie hot spots that we would have never found on our own, Including hot dogs from one of the best hot dog restaurants in the city! What I loved most of all at the end of the tour Jan promised us an email with information on all the places we dined at while on the Taste of Prague tour and some suggestions for the rest of our holiday (we were looking for some ideas of foodie places to spend while in Berlin). This was emailed to us that evening! Jan went above and beyond in the email and provided suggestions of places he recommended in Berlin (which was hugely appreciative) we ended up booking at one of these for New Years and had an excellent meal in Berlin because of Jan! If you’re looking for a food tour that really delivers both in deliciousness of the food provided, charisma of the host and historical information of the city then this is for you. I have no hesitations recommending this tour and if we are back in Prague again I would have no hesitations doing the tour again!! 10/10 the best tour we have been on!

The Taste Of Prague tour was one of the highlights of our entire vacation through Central Europe! Martin was so knowledgeable, hilarious and took us to so many fabulous places. I would HIGHLY recommend taking the tour. You won’t regret it!

Best food tour I've ever taken. Their guide booklet is fantastic, and led us to great additional spots around the city. Every time we went somewhere that was in a different guide we were disapointed for various reasons, and every place suggested from the ToP guide was so amazing and memorable. The tour was a highlight of our trip.

We took the traditional Czech food tour on our first day in Prague and loved it! The group was small (perfect!), and Jan was an excellent guide making everyone comfortable. In addition to the awesome food, beer, and wine, we especially enjoyed learning more about the history of Prague and the Czech republic, and hearing Jan's personal stories along the tour. We got to experience a wide array of food from little stand-up eateries to a trendy sit-down place outside of the city center. Everything we tasted was wonderful, and we left full and feeling very welcomed to the city! Jan answered any and all questions along the way, and also provided a great contact for a historical guide of the city that we took the next day during our trip. I would highly recommend this tour, you can really tell that a high degree of thoughtfulness and knowledge goes into the planning.

We had a great tasting tour with Karolina from Taste of Prague. The food was amazing - a delicious mix of traditional and modern Czech food plus beers and wines. Karolina told us about the cuisine as well as the sites we passed by. We will recommend to all our friends.

😠 Never had such a bad experience on a tour. The Prague Bus tours is a far far better customer experienced and with sufficient bus frequency to handle the flow of customers. Reimbursement was reclaimed on the following day at the head offices. File is closed.
