What a place, what great food. I came here on a recommendation and as you know these can be very tricky at times ;). But boy was I happy we ended up making the time to eat here. The food was something else, absolutely fantastic, the waiter funny enough and always making sure we had everything we could ask for. If you get the chance, maybe make a reservation and you have to try the orange Pancakes 🥞😉. I will come again to Prague just so I can eat here one more time.

So elegant and chic. pop in especially for a coffee and dessert. The live music that the gentlemen plays in is wonderful. There are photos of several well known politicians, poets, novelist philosophers and other important people who are not only Czech but world wide famous. If you don’t like crowds, have your coffee in the morning or at noon but I recommend evenings. Here is not a place for tourists , locals are mostly here. For art historians and interior architecture fans: this cafe is art deco style, with marble and wood on walls and with many mirrors together with typical round tables.

I absolutely love this place! Such an amazing atmosphere, usually very busy and you'd be lucky to find a table without a reservation, definitely worth visiting for the amazing food, coffee and this amazing pianist who was very skilled and completely lifted our hearts with his performance 🎹🎶 they have decaffeinated options for coffee as well which i appreciated! I had the decaf cappuccino which was perfect! Service is good, but they're usually very busy so you'll have to wait and be patient until you get some service. Definitely one of my favorite cafes, and I always return here for a relaxing time!

It is a famous place for desserts, coffee, and dining in front of the Vltava river. Besides the nice interior design, the staff is friendly as well.Despite the fact that the cake is so delicious, some of them contain alcohol, 😃 which is not suitable for the kid. The drinks is also mouth watering too. There is also nearby Tram stop which is very convenience.

Authentic and absolutely great place. Must visit no matter if you’re tourist or local. This cafe is more then 130 years old. I guess when you do something so long, you achieve some perfection. The pancakes was amazing. The staff is friendly and smiley. Live music by grand piano master, who looks like a person, just finished his concert in the building next to cafe. It’s a great place to stop and observe this live. I will come back

A lovely place to visit with a great feel to its atmosphere. The breakfast was good and service was of a high standard. Plenty of seating available and nearby public transport connections. Recommend

A really incredible and lovely place for a dinner or a meeting just in front of the beautiful National theater. I was very pleased with the quality and quantity of food, which wasn't that expensive as one would expect for this place. The atmosphere and service of this restaurant is just amazing. Once you've been here you definitely come back! 😉

I never rate 1 start to any establishment so far, but I have to rate 1 star only for the poor service. I didn't manage to eat or drink as no one come and serve. I tried to approach myself, I wanted to buy cake on the counter, I came and ordered from the counter, the lady gave sign she acknowledged but I waited for more than 5 min, my cake did not come. None of staff came to offer menu or anything. After a while I left because I did not feel welcomed. I went to Louvre cafe where they welcoming their guest!

We’ve been here twice, first time late evening and it was great, fast service and delicious food. Second time we came in during brunch and waited an hour to get our order and finally didn’t get a dessert. There were a lot of people but it’s no excuse for such high profile place… 3 starts because food and drinks are great.

(Translated by Google) Okay. Vaclav Havel used to come here, too, who, like Sobieski, was everywhere, but not everywhere. At best, he put bricks in the nice local toilet. The cafe itself, located on the Vltava embankment, overlooking the Hradczany on one side and the National Theater on the other, is large and nice. The interior is from the 1930s and you can contemplate it for hours. The waiters are not that old, but keep the flair of a noble cafe for the Prague intelligentsia. Of course, nowadays there are a lot of tourists here, so the quality of the service has broken a bit, and the bills say the service is not included. Anyway, a mandatory stop for wine, coffee and good pastries. (Original) No dobrze.

After many years I had breakfast at Kavarna Slavia. It was very tasty. This Café is also special with the live piano music in the evenings. You shouldn't miss during your Prague visit. The old styled interior makes you to travel in the time.

We came to the cafe because of Nazim Hikmet's fame. It is interesting because of its location, it has a classic style in design. It is not sporty and shabby. It would be a good choice for business meetings. I didn't like the coffee, the scrambled eggs with truffle was good but the portion was small. Egg benedict, on the other hand, had an average taste and a small portion. Normally it has two eggs, but here they used only one. Lastly, I regret to say that the pancake was bad and not cooked inside. All the food was beautiful in appearance but unfortunately it did not appeal to my taste buds. The service was good.

İt is nice place to rest and staff are kind. They have nice desserts to taste. We have tried apple strudel with vanilla and ice cream so l recommend it. We did not do a reservation but we have found a place to seat. But it is better to have a reservation otherwise you need to wait. All price are attached.

Coffee is great! I ordered americano and they brought me a perfect big espresso and a pot of hot water, so I could dilute coffee as I wish to get my own perfect americano:) and desserts are good! Interior is modest, but still you can feel the atmosphere there

(Translated by Google) I visited a lot of cafes and I was going to Slavia for a long time. My idea of Slavia was that it is a top coffee experience. The opposite is true, it was a great disappointment. The premises of the café are very nice, but there is a lack of attention to detail, which can be seen, for example, in the form of tasteless bills of exchange. We were in the cafe on Sunday afternoon and there weren't many people. After a long wait unattended, two ladies left the side table, who arrived shortly before us. I gave it another 5 minutes. The waiter blinked at the side tables a few times, but showed no interest in us even 10 minutes after sitting down. In the end, we left the cafe without ordering with the feeling that they are not interested in new guests. The icing on the cake for this experience was really a very piece of cherry-free cake, which I noticed on the chair I was sitting on when I left. Of course I took a piece of that cake on my pants. I will be happy to give this café a second chance if it corrects its current shortcomings and rejoins the café model. If so, please let me know :) (Original) Navštívil jsem velkou spoustu kaváren a do Slavie jsem se dlouhou dobu chystal.

The best Cafe in Prague with iconic view and long history like a meeting point of Czech artists, dissidents and philosophers. Don’t miss it If you visit Prague like a tourist. Good mood atmosphere is increasing with old fashioned style of service and live pianist production.

Amazing place, the design is so nice, it took me to the past, with wonderful view of the river, and there was a man playing piano, i can't ask for better experience! I ordered lemonade with cheesecake and both were tasty. The staff are nice and the prices are acceptable. Literally nothing to complain about. Highly recommend. 🥰

A thorough but wonderfully subtle 2021 renovation by new owner has the Slavia shining anew. New floors and banquettes, everything is clean but just as it used to be; just some celebrity photos have disappeared (and that’s fine). The coffee’s still not great and the pianist is way too loud, but the space is stunningly beautiful and the prices are kept at acceptable levels, considering the prime location. Let’s hope they bring back the crêpes… and dim the lights a little bit - it was a tad too bright on a September evening.

(Translated by Google) Big disappointment. The two stars just for the strudel. Much but very below average coffee. The fame of the café is probably long gone. Neglected, dirty tables, staff obviously poisoned. For a moment we feared that no one would come to the table. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of the cafe is created by staff who do not belong to such a business. We expected a certain nobility from the Slávia café, which gives the café a spirit, but it is not there and unfortunately it will not change the beautiful interior, which would deserve more care. It is certain that we have no reason to return to this café.

The Food at Cafe Slavia is amazing, plenty of flavour and great presentation. Though the service is awful. Couple of times we were interrupted during our meal by two separate waiters leaning over our table. No tap water available and always wanting to remove cutlery and plates as soon as you are finished. For these reasons we did not decide to tip the waiter. Upon leaving we were given sarcastic comments from the waiter serving us, including insulting comments towards English speaking people in the process. Such a shame.

Very friendly and professional employees. The food is very tasty, especially the roast duck and beef goulash are excellent. If I come to Prague again, I will definitely come here again. It is said that Nazım Hikmet, a very important Turkish poet, was a regular here years ago and wrote some of his poems and letters here.

Very nice cafe. Design and architecture are from the period of "first Czech Republic" of the 20th century. Coffe is good quality and prepared well. It is served with a small glass of water. You can choose some sweet dessert made in the cafe. I have got chocolate dessert with liquor in side. It was delicious. If you prefer a salty snack, you can choose some sandwich or salad or canapés. I have been there in the afternoon. There was live piano music. Waitress was very polite, smiling and taking care about us. I recommend this cafe.

Visited last week, after dinner. Great old-world atmosphere, elegant decor and piano player providing ambience. Dessert was good, not great, the cookie on the top was so firm it was difficult to cut without squashing the entire filling. However, the Chocolate Old Fashioned cocktail was fantastic.

Great experience in this retro looking cafe! Good desserts and nice staff. If you want a nice atmosphere just for coffee and cake or even drinking beer, Cafe Slavia is really recommendable! They even have a live pianist in the evening! We loved the architecture inside, great atmosphere!

This is the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. We took the available table but the waiter came by and told us that this table for 4 people minimum. Okay. All the similar tables were taken by the couples!!! We were waiting for a table for a few minutes but this waiter decided to focus on a Czech family with kids and gave them the initial table we took. For us he didn’t even have a “sorry”. Just “there is no tables. You need to wait outside” . Just wow.

What has happened to one of my favorite places in Prague ?!? I’ve been there two days ago after more than 1,5 years (due to travel restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic) and it was just horrible. No greeting, no atmosphere, no pictures, no kind service (we waited 20 minutes for a waiter but nobody came and so we left). I’m so disappointed. This place used to be my favorite place to go once I’m in Prague, but now it’s all gone …

An elegant coffee house (Kavarna ) located at the foot of one of the bridges and opposite the National Theatre in Prague. You feel like you are stepping back in time when you enter this elegant cafe . A beautiful selection of cakes are on display , there are meals available and coffee served on mini trays . The service here is great of higher standard and the prices too are however like they say - When in ! A must visit just to experience this gem.

Cafe Slavia is a classy, elegant restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere. The food is exceptional, and the staff are very professional and welcoming. As is custom when in Czechia, we ordered the traditional Goulash, which was delicious, the meat was soft and tender, the sauce was rich and flavoursome, and the selection of dumplings was well accompanied with the meal. The Apple Strudel for dessert was sweet and delicious, and was the perfect finish to the experience. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Prague.

We had dinner here, the service was great in a very pleasant environment. Live piano for a backdrop as we had a few drinks with dinner. The food was good, but the roasted pork belly was a bit dry. There are other more quaint places you could go but this was still a good experience overall.

(Translated by Google) The cafe would be in 5🌟. The degradation of the genius loci is declining 🌟 and the establishment of a garden in the middle of an intersection indicates that the owners want more money and customers. A reasonable person does not go there. Let's hope you get common sense next year and not be there. For that stupid idea and realization of 2🌟downs (Original) Kavárna by byla za 5🌟. Degradace genia loci ubírá 🌟 a prosazení zahrádky uprostřed křižovatky svědčí o tom, že majitelé chtějí víc peněz a zákazníků. Rozumný člověk tam nejde. Doufejme, že příští rok dostanete rozum a nebude tam. Za ten hloupý nápad a realizaci 2🌟dolů

This place doesn't disappoint, although staff could be a bit more helpful. They offer really good traditional Czech dishes in interiors with an unique atmosphere. Located opposite the National Theatre, so you can have great view either at the theatre itself or at the river on the other side.

(Translated by Google) Coffee and desserts excellent, service friendly. I would just like to respect tradition more in a similar environment - the staff - although nice, with a colorful spill in my hair, it really doesn't fit here. Personally, I have nothing against the right to my own image, but the staff is not here for themselves. The atmosphere was wonderfully complemented by a pianist. (Original) Káva i dezerty výborné, obsluha milá.

Disappointing. I went to Slavia with my mother, she is a tourist, I live in Prague, I wanted her to have a nice dinner with a view of Vltava in a historically famous cafe. But, the table next to us were drunk out of their minds, they were also friends with the waiters who didn’t mind them making loud noise, inappropriate behaviour, at the very end of us dining there, they finally managed to offer us a different table. From a place where Czech intelligence used to dine, this place went to a one star pub for drunks, making chaos, throwing things around, being loud and ruining the atmosphere for us. If the waiting staff was more attentive they would suggest us other table right away, but they cared more about chatting away with their drunk friends, not about the comfort of their other customers. Truly disappointing, would never visit again and advice my friends, family and acquaintances against visiting

One of my favourite places in Prague: a table by the window with a view of the Vltava and the castle. With a tasty meal or cake and homemade lemonade or a delicious coffee. Perfect. Plus the great furnishings. I've been coming here again and again since 1990.
