Gorgeous building, specially the interior decorations, but expected a bit more museum displays. Most doors were not clearly labeled or open, so we had to actually try every door until one opened and we found an exhibit inside. First time I've had this but it was both fun and weird at the same time :) Very few people were visiting at the time. Not sure if it is like that all the time or just when we visited. The glass exhibit was very interesting. The lace exhibition was nice as well. The 4th.floor was entirely closed/renovating. The ticket (10 euros) also gets you free entry to the Czech Cubism Museum, in the Old Center, which is nice. 2 other places are included in the ticket, but they are outside of the city, or far away.

(Translated by Google) Interesting to see on the past, with today's gaze ... This museum is interesting in this. It was founded in 1885, and opened it in 1900. Solid collection includes items arts and crafts and design art starting from ancient times to modernity. Emphasis is made on happening today Czech lands ... lucky if during the visit, a permanent exhibition will work. Well, the temporary ones are also interesting. As interesting as the building itself of the 19th century, decorating the capital ...

Gorgeous building with stunning interiors. Loved the modern glass exhibit. Don’t miss the view of the centuries old Jewish cemetery from the second floor windows. Charming garden café with very good Mediterranean food.

Beautiful architecture in the building. Unfortunately the permanent exhibit is still not viewable. I read that it has been unavailable for several years now. The temporary exhibits are eclectic and oddly curated. I wouldn't go until the permanent collection is available again unless one of the temporary exhibits interests you.

This is one of my favorite museums in Prague if you are into the decorative arts - fine objects well designed to inspire. The building itself is so cool and the gift shop has fun things. I can’t wait to visit again after Covid.

State-of-the-art museum, every single room carefully designed, a pleasure to visit. Excellent shop and café.

This was one of the best places we visited in Prague. The glass exhibition was amazing and very informative. There was also a textile exhibition on the same floor which was really interesting. My 14 year daughter also really enjoyed this. I don't think young kids would enjoy this (you also may have problems stopping them touching the exhibits as most are not behind glass), but older kids with an interest in design would get a lot from the visit.

This museum houses a lot of really cool furniture, decor, and clothing throughout the decades in Prague. I ended up genuinely enjoying my time here, the interior of the building itself is amazing to look at 🥰

Well, lets start with the building. The house is amazing and we really enjoyed the opportunity to see it. However, we have expected much more from the exhibitions. There was an exhibition of old photographies and it was quite disappointing. Small black and white pictures in dark exhibition rooms; we didn’t like it. The glass exhibition was much better. Than there were several empty floors. I really liked the glass exhibition downstairs (Ondrich Pliva). If you buy a ticket for all exhibitions, it is valid also for the Czech Cubism Permanent Exhibition in Ovocny trh which is great.

Wonderfully laid out collection of important Czech objects from religious to pioneering ceramics. The reason for their existence told in a modern, relevant and thought-provoking way. One of the highlights of an artistic trip to Prague.

(Translated by Google) The building has undergone an extensive renovation, which is very successful. We also really liked the current exhibition Hana Podolská-legend of Czech fashion. The exhibition is from the environment of a fashion salon of the First Republic and presents more than 50 original models and a number of accessories. Salon Podolská was the most popular and most famous fashion salon of an interwar Czech society. Another exhibition I visited here was an exhibition of glass called "Pleiades of Glass". Also interesting. It is a long-term exhibition. An exhibition is currently taking place at UPM "In the luster of gold, in the radiance of colors." These are underpaintings on glass or paintings painted on the back of glass from the period of antiquity (Original) Budova prošla rozsáhlou rekontrukcí, která je velmi zdařilá.

I visited this museum on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not busy. The set-up of the museum is opaque, you can buy like 5 different tickets for different parts of the museum? I chose only the permanent collection, which is the whole second floor. There are quite a number of interesting pieces, but overall, I found the collection not well curated; a bit a mixmatch of styles, artists, objects, czech/european etc. In my opinion the collection could benefit from a different (rigorous?) approach in display. The display cases/ Iighting, etc, were quite well done, a bit like the V&A Dundee. Good salad at the restaurant also nice giftshop.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful museum on 3 floors with various exhibitions. The sixth glass exhibition, the fourth religious art, and tapestries at the bottom. You must see the staircase, it is best to take the elevator up, and go down the stairs and be careful not to fall down the stairs looking up all the time (Original) Przepiękne muzeum na 3 pietrach rozne wystawy. Boy, did I have difficulty finding this spot! Largely my fault, of course. So many excellent exhibitions, focusing on glass designs and products, but including examples of fabric and couture design. If the museum could just mention its proximity to the Intercontinental Hotel, locating it would be easier.

I loved this museum when I was in Prague in 2014 -- a really magnificent building located between the Rudolfinum and the Jewish Cemetery, with a world class collection of art and design. Since then it closed for renovation of its magnificent beaux arts building. While the renovation appears complete, the permanent collection hasnot been reinstalled. There is a small sampling of pieces from various exhibitions over the decades, a somewhat confusing display of postwar art glass, a LOT of photos from the dark days between 1968 and 1989, and a display on tracing the provenance of goods seized by the Nazis. SOMEDAY the real collection will return, but until then spend your time elsewhere.

loved the pieces exhibited so much! there’s a good amount to explore with an entire museum ticket at a reasonable price. particularly loved the permanent collection spanning across furnitures, utensils, clothes and religious ritual objects. the lobmeyer glass exhibition was quite large and impressive.

I was expecting the museum to be larger but I still spent about two hours there. The temporary exhibition about glass is stunning. I also loved the permanent exhibition which has a lot of hidden gems. I was not expecting so many art objects connected to Rudolf II and his Habsburg ancestors, so I was pleasantly surprised! The exhibitions have strong educational value and the museum building is impressive.

Beautiful building and space for exhibitions. Tuesdays are open until 8pm, no rush! The staff was very helpful with ticket recommendation and also with handling the lockers (you need coins...) They speak English and are very happy to help. The building has elevators so you don't need to walk all the way, some of the floors are not available to public. We saw 3 exhibitions during our visit, all of them were interesting. Will definitely come back when in Prague again 👍

amazing neo-renaissance building… the moment you come out of the elevator on the sixt floor, you will find yourself in another time! … l was impressed by the contemporary glass-work of martin janecky but also the history of the czech glassmaking is absolutely worth a visit. and for fabric and fashion lovers: „the power of lace“ presents you a choice of czech lace works from the latter half of the 20. century to the present day.

Nice and beautiful building. Unfortunately the permanent exhibition was closed until next year. So we only got to see a temporary exhibition of a Czech Designer Hana P. The fun thing was to be able to make our own fashion designer on paper.

Brilliant display of beautiful and fascinating objects: furniture, paintings. jewellery, fashion. The ornately decorated building is itself utterly remarkable and worth visiting. A cultural treasure chest, with objects that will appeal to a wide audience. Definitely worth visiting when in Prague, I would suggest 2 hours minimum. I regretted only having 90 minutes here as I visited near closing time. There is a lovely restaurant cafe in a courtyard garden at the entry.

the building is already a museum in itself. it was built from 1884 and completed in the year 1902. recently the building has been closed for 6 years to renovate and the result is there! An as a museum building they have created a truly breathtaking environment and its contemporary practical approach in which all monumental matters have been preserved, has succeeded miraculously. There are contemporary exhibitions which are of course more or less interesting. All in all: It is definitely worth visiting and the restaurant as wel, which that can be classified in a four star category.

Permanent: The museum has a great collection of posters of some events that took place at the beginning of 20 century. Also a lot of objects of everyday life, some decorative things and some specialised things that are very interesting to look at.
