It was an interesting gallery with quite a few exhibitions, although all of them were very small, so the pricing could be lower (but as a student I only paid half the price, so it was ok for me). The exhibitions were nicely curated and the information written about them was comprehensive. You could also take extra leaflets about each artist, but they were available only before entering the main building, not in the rooms with the art. All in all, I recommend visiting this gallery and seeing the art of modern czech artist, especially to tourists, but there's still a room for improvement.

(Translated by Google) Great place; a few hours of sightseeing guaranteed, the automotive department is a topic for even half a day, The remaining part of the exhibition, which is really large, is an interesting look into the past when it comes to household equipment and the technological achievements of that time, such as the first mobile phones or TV sets. Access to the museum by tram no. 6 RECOMMENDED (Original) Świetne miejsce; parę godzin zwiedzania gwarantowane, dział motoryzacji to temat nawet na pół dnia,Pozostała część ekspozycji która jest naprawdę spora jest ciekawym spojrzeniem w przeszłość jeżeli chodzi o wyposażenie gospodarstw domowych jak i ówczesnych zdobyczy techniki jak pierwsze telefony komórkowe czy telewizory . Some lovely art pieces, but our experience was let down by the accessibility. Each floor just about qualified as wheelchair accessible, however using the lift between floors required calling the security guard who was extremely rude, in fact he was the only truly rude person we encountered in the city. Also getting the wheelchair across the cobbled courtyard between the ticket office and the museum was no joke. Fortunately my wife isn't permanently chair-bound, as it would not have been possible if she wasn't able to walk the short distance.

Small museum with a high price, 300 CZK for the entire exhibition per person. Nice view from the top of the staircase. Would skip it if you're staying for just a few days in Prague.

Small museum but very well curated, it is a private collection with much of the work of Kupha and some abstract, cubist and modernist plastic artists. See the sculptures that are in the courtyard. The small terrace offers you a cozy landscape of the river

I mean, that’s a museum. Not the best or the biggest one in Prague, but shows a lot of Czech art. A bit overpriced. If u search for big collection of modern art and you are young I would recommend other places

One of the drier museums I’ve visited. You’ll need to be a fan before you could even decide to put this on your itinerary. However, the sculpture outside of the museum (2 peeing men) is interesting and worth a visit.

Loved the space and the art! The wonderful views over the river and the great small souvenir shop were a plus. I visited in fall but it might be that when the weather is nicer, the venue gets even more impressive. Even the grumpy service at the cafeteria cannot dissuade me from coming back ;) Definitely recommend a stroll to Werich villa nearby and getting a dessert there.

Huge place that is worth the visit. It has more than a few floors all with its own theme. The most impressive part are the vehicles (planes, bikes, cars, bicycles and locomotives). The other themes include: photography, chemistry, mechanisms such as (working) clocks, mining, metallurgy, astronomy, television and more. The staff is very nice but most of them speak German or Russian.

A really pretty museum, good ticket prices (even better if you have an ISIC and attend an art school, the ticket price for an art Student is only 20kc).It's also in a great location near Malostranské Náměšti, which means there are a lot of interesting places to visit nearby (places such as the bookstore Shakespeare a synové, on Malostranské náměstí Kunsthalle, just to name a couple :D)

Modern art galery, with interesting but a bit monotonous exhibition. The place could use some more sitting spaces as seeing the whole museum in one go can be quite tiring.

Don't go there! Overpriced ticket for such a horrible pseudo exhibition about fashion, zero artistic way of thinking was used during installation, sewing maid having hands replaced by plastic lilies, wigs are not adjusted, cloths seem to be fake or made from very poor quality materials, very dirty fabrics, all this disaster placed to the museum without any context or even message. This exhibition is not better than marketers on the Charle's bridge. And I don't even speak about an aggressive old lady working as a "security guard" who blames visitors for touching the exhibition, which was in no way true. Waste of money, time and energy.

A small museum located in a villa right beside the river, Kampa houses a great collection of works of mainly czech artists such as Jan Hendrych, Libomir Pribyl, Franticek Kupka and Gutfreund. We both felt that the collections were well-curated and absolutely worth the entry price of 350 crowns per person. If you're interested in art, this definitely is a must-see in Prague.

Came here for the "Helmut Newton in Dialogue" display. CZK220 entry fee to visit two rooms and the display didn't even include "Crocodile Eating a Ballerina", both of which were very disappointing. On the plus, the display offered a glimpse into his career as a professional fashion photographer. There is a toilet on site too, just one.

Beautiful building surrounded by a local park and Czech artist sculptures. The "Babies" sculptures are by the same artist (David Cerny) behind the rotating Kafka bust near old town. This exhibit was focusing on the Duchamp brothers and local Czech artist František Kupka.

The building, the location and the views from the museum are more impressive than the art works. Don't miss the penguins on the river edge!

  • 3/5 Sunny M. 4 years ago on Google
Nice museum of contemporary art collected by Meda Mladek, however, entrance fee too high (CZK 330 per adult) for the few unspectacular pieces of art exhibited there. Thus, disappointing!

I saw the Mucha and Pasta Oner exhibition which was to expensive! 120kč even though I had a student discount! Compared to other gallerys in Prague a high price. The exhibition was just placed in two tiny rooms. Fair to say the topic and the paintings were interesting but on the other side poorly presented, the light was quite dark and a lot of things like air conditioner were placed in the rooms and they were a bit noisy. Furthermore you aren't allowed to take pictures. Maybe I will visit the next exhibition to give the museum a second chance but I would not recommend the current one.

(Translated by Google) Alfons Mucha's exhibition was very dimly lit, in two darkened rooms there were no paintings and their colors almost visible, which is a great pity for such great works. The selection of the image is great, but the labels for them are wrong. Toilets in the basement of the museum - a tragedy with zero hygiene. (Original) Vystava Alfonse Muchy byla velmi spatne osvetlena, ve dvou potemnelych mistnostech nebylo obrazy a jejich barvy temer videt, coz je velka skoda u tak skvelych del. (Translated by Google) Although I'm not a big lover of painting, I like to look at Mucha. And that's what I found here. I don't have to buy, but there is a lot of it. The exhibitions are clearly arranged and overall it seems to me that the reconstruction of the building is done quite with feeling and respect for national traditions. I appreciate that even modern elements are incorporated so that they do not disturb the external integrity of the urban character of the site.

What we saw was really cool, so it saddens me oven more, that 50% of everything you could do, interactions with the attractions shown, where out of order, real bummer. The big exposition hall is really cool, and I found everything really interesting, as they had a big spectrum of topics related to technology. And the entry is very cheap, so I think it's worth a look.

By far the largest section is intended for car (and motorcycle, aviation and cycling) enthusiasts, and this part alone takes you half a day to see without any problems. The astronomical, photographic and printing departments are also particularly interesting. However, I missed some interactive content that would attract children a little more. Unfortunately, most things can only be seen and nothing can be tried.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, not all the exhibits or the café were open, due to preventive health (Covid 19). However, we still spent 5 hours here. Some parts were more interesting, others less so. Unfortunately, as far as stargazing is concerned, I didn't like it very much, it was very dark, unbreathable, and the space was closed in some kind of "bubbles", which made me not twice as good. So I didn't examine the exhibition much. (Original) Bohužel nebyly otevřené všechny expozice ani kavárna, z důvodu preventivně zdravotních (Covid 19). Nicméně i tak jsme zde strávili 5 hodin. Některé části byly zajímavější jiné méně. Bohužel co se týká hvězdářství, tam se mi moc nelíbilo, moc tma, nedychatelno a prostor uzavřený do jakýchsi "bublin" z čehož mi nebylo dvakrát dobře. Expozici jsem tudíž moc neprozkoumala.

İt is a nice building inside a local park and there are plenty sculptures of various Czech artist . The "Babies" sculptures are by the same artist (David Cerny) behind the rotating Kafka bust near old town. You can enjoy any exhibition taking place with a fee or just wander arround the building or the park where you can rest and take nice pictures of the nearby Charles bridge.there are also a restaurant nearby ..Lennon wall is also close by to top up your visit to Mala Strana side of the prague city.

Museum Kampa is a must see if you're on a gallery tour of Prague. They exhibit a wide ranging assortment of contemporary and classical pieces, all of which are often very rooted in Czech culture. The gallery itself is also very unique architecturally - make sure to step out onto the rooftop patio at both the mid and upper levels!

Cool art museum with more modern art, easily navigated

  • 4/5 Ivelisse R. 2 years ago on Google
Liked it! Good art, but the permanent exhibitions didn’t feel like anything that hadn’t been done before. Needs a LOT more places for sitting and admiring the art.

Interesting small collection, beautiful building in a fantastic location. Certainly recommend the visit. Only not if you travel on a budget as price was pretty high (15€).

I am sure it is a good sire if you are an architect student or something, for the general person it was a let down. Just view the free installations outside and around the building. Visited December 15, 2022

It is an extremely small museum, such that the permanent exhibition ticket only lets you enter about a dozen small rooms. The sculptures that are famous are available around the museum, for free. It’s hard to justify the full adult price. We finished the permanent exhibition in one hour.

We enjoyed the Katerina Cerna temporary exhibition but the permanent collection isn’t a must visit by any means or at least, Kupka wasn’t to our taste. Worth a stroll outside to see the penguins and the babies but you can skip the museum itself.

It’s very nice and modern museum however for the high price I would expect the exhibition to be a little bigger. You could see everything in 30 min . If you are into abstract art I would definitely recommend!

Very interesting modern and contemporary Czech art. There is no way I would see these artists except to visit this museum, so it was a treat. The architecture and walk along the island is an added bonus. Not a great museum for younger kids, just fyi for parents.

Great museum, both the incredibly smart and deep art of Kampa and the exhibition (on fashion) were wonderful. And the place is also very nice. Go up to the roof too!

Modern Art Gallery, interesting place, summer camp with evening events. Lovely park around, great place to chill out on Kampa Island.

Amazing museum with rotating exhibitions, mostly Czech contemporary and modern artists. Visit every time I am in Prague

  • 4/5 Dean P. 3 months ago on Google New
Maybe I'm spoilt by Budapest and Vienna which both had bigger and, for me, more interesting modern art museums. Worth a visit but not a must see.
