Absolute must see for anyone who's interested in WW2/Cold War era history. Presented with fiery intensity by a passionate Russian with a very extensive knowledge of the KGB history, assassination techniques and weaponry. Easily one of my favourite museum experiences in Europe, the history is very much presented directly to you. It should also be noted there is a shop where you can buy genuine soviet badges and watches. Had I known this in advance I would have gladly grabbed a few gifts for my friend back home 🇦🇺🇦🇺

A must visit museum in Prague! A unique view of WWI, WWII, and the Cold War from an enthusiastic tour guide who will answer any questions you have and has some truly interesting items and information. You can only visit the museum by doing a tour which lasts 50-60 minutes. The tour requires a minimum of 2 people. So worth it!

Highly recommended if you are interested in knowing more about the history of Soviet Union and Russia. The tour guide is very funny and informative let you know more details of past KGB how they used their secret weapons. There are many historical relevant things to demonstrate. 5 Stars!

The owner is very passionate about USSR and Russian history. His acting is the biggest highlight of the museum. There are also weapons, spy kits, clothes etc. from the URSS. Be careful not to get into a debate about current politics with the owner, enjoy yourself and take some pictures with the guns.

I highly recommend visiting. Although the museum is really small, it’s jam packed with KGB weapons, uniforms, and other paraphernalia. The owner is a riot, and his enthusiasm is infectious. Really memorable, unique, and hilarious experience.

You have to be on time, a tours starts and after that you cannot enter and have to wait. Maybe it is worth waiting because the owner makes your visit worthwhile. A lot of KGB gadgets and weapons are demonstrated and can be held by visitors. The tour is informative and entertaining, not boring. Interesting place that shows some history in a not much seen or heard perspective.

We went to this KGB Museum today. Wow! The tour guide is amazing. I've never had such a crazy hour. He is so funny, informative and completely nuts. The collection is brilliant. Everything from spy cameras to ballistic knives. Anyone giving this place a bad review is obviously very sad. 10 out of 10 and I would say, worth every crown.

I visited the museum in December 2021 with a friend. I usually don't leave reviews but after reading so many negative reviews I feel I need to. I recommend this museum or attraction if you prefer this word. Yes, the museum might be small and yes it might not be to everyone's taste, but the way the guide is acting is part of the show to make the experience memorable. The whole experience seems designed to captivate the visitors' attention. To people who say it's expensive, do you realize how much energy is needed to do the kind of act presentation this guy does? People don't even realize that even the way the guy answers under negative reviews is also a part of the persona he created for this show. People, don't be biased, relax and enjoy the show. You will have something else to remember from Prague apart from beer.

What a man! The owner is eccentric to say the least. Stories told with passion and amazing noises and over the top acting, which makes the experience more enjoyable. Fascinating collection of historic items - with detailed accounts of how they are used. If you squeamish then you might want to check with the owner. We had fun handling and taking pictures with guns and knifes !! Highly recommended.

I can heartily recommend visiting the museum. The whole tour will take you around 1 hour. Although it is rather compact the curator of the museum knows his stuff and honestly is as much an attraction as the museum itself. Not only does he know his stuff but he delivers everything with gusto and theatrics that robs you of your breath. If you have an interest in Ww2 or Cold War history do pay it a visit or if you wants to hear someone tell recount stories in a compelling manner do give this a visit. The experience will stay with you forever.B

Passionate guide who will let you in on the details and practical aspects of the secret service weapons and lesser known details and facts of history with very real historical items! 😁 The guide was entertaining, informative and kind enough to try to answer our questions no matter how silly they might have sounded (and not poison us for them instead!). 😅 Definitely unique experience that leaves you wanting to dig deeper on some of the topics discussed, so mission accomplished!

A very unique experience. He explains a lot on how the kgb was organized and demonstrates and explains various wespons. A bit disturbing was when he showed a video of modern operations. Just say no when he asks to show it. Hes a bit crazy but i think its part of the show and he is very enthusiastic about hes collection.

You just have to visit it and witness the world of KGB. Many requisits, a very nice storyteller and a lot of history. A tour costs 500 czech crowns aka 20€ and you can pay with cash or card. It is taking about an hour and you have the oportunity to take pictures afterwards and even buy some Souvenirs!

Had a wonderful experience today at this museum! The owner/guide is very kind and was very welcoming. The tour was over an hour long with just the two of us. In this time, we were given a ton of information about everything from the history of the KGB to different kinds of weapons and killing techniques. The guide speaks very passionately, giving demonstrations and fun extra facts based on where you are from! This gave the tour a very personal touch that we loved. He even talks about the experiences of his own family and neighbor! If your English isn't very good you might have some trouble understanding the guide as he has a relatively strong Russian accent but he is also willing to explain further if you don't understand and, in our opinion, it only added to the experience. After the tour we got to walk around on our own and the guide encouraged us to get some pictures taken with the weapons. In the end we spent about 2 hours at the museum. The museum might be a bit on the pricey side for some, and if you're looking for the traditional formal museum tour this might not be the museum for you. But, if you are looking for an experience that is unique and personal and if you keep an open mind, it is definitely worth the cost! This is a memory of Prague that will definitely stick with us due to the care and passion the guide put into the tour.

Be prepared for an extremely animated and passionate demonstration of USSR history. The owner really performs for the whole hour with an eccentric level of energy. You might have to wait a little as only one tour is run at any point in time. Good little photo op with some authentic props.

Number one in Prague. A guided tour option only but the guy is very passionate and well informed. The tours are mad to be entertaining and the whole thin is very interactive. I thought I knew a bit about the KGB but I didn't. After visiting here I do. It's a small place, essentially a shop with a guys own collection of stuff. But it's great!

Interesting place. Owner is an eccentric guy, really good with his audience. He walks you around the room, pointing out items of interest and how they were used. He touches on the history of the Russian secret service, but the vast majority of the time is spent on demonstrating how each tool is used to execute someone. Really fun but probably wouldn't recommend for small kids. Lasts about 70 min.

What a fun experience! The tour guide is very nice and funny. It’s definitely a very different experience than traditional museum, here you can closely see and touch the collection. I understand that some people prefer “classic” museum tour but this is an experience you will not forget and you will not get bored. My family and I had a great time, the tour guide was also very kind, offering water and chairs to ladies and seniors.

This was probably THE worst "museum" experience i have ever had. It's run by a man who fetishizes old soviet weapons and this basically what the whole tour is about. The tour starts off with some interesting history, but takes a hard left turn at the 15/20 minute mark where the whole thing becomes about weapons and frankly made 80% of us in there quite uncomfortable. He tries to make up for the lack of other historical facts by acting out different ways to kill people with the old soviet weapons. Would only recommend this for 15 year olds with similar gun and weapon fantasies..

The owner was very special and made it more of an acting show about how to kill people in different ways, rather than talking about the history of the KGB. I felt a bit wierded out by that fact that he focused so much on the acting and left. I would have enjoyed a more classic tour with information, without the acting part.

It always looks like it’s closed, but it’s open actually. This museum has a schedule, so be on time! The owner speaks English with a super strong accent. It was really hard to understand what he said! However you can see a different side of Soviet Union, and maybe you can enjoy it!

A very particular and curious museum to see. I must honestly confess that initially I was in doubt whether to enter, but then it is an interesting experience also due to the theatrical ability of the guide who will immerse you in the explanation of the history of the KGB, but above all of the objects, some of which are truly rare and unobtainable. This is a fun place to visit in Prague. It is a tiny museum, however the owner is a big personality with a wealth of stories. He is very engaging and we learnt a lot and had great fun. It is essential to book as it is only open if the host has four or more visitors.

This was the experience we didn't know we needed! We started off our vacation going to this museum and we certainly didn't expect the show we got! I love everything spy related so I was very excited to visit the place. The charismatic host was such a wonderful surprise! He explained the items in the museum in such detail and with such passion that we basically got transported during the KGB time and felt like we were part of the agency. We saw some very interesting artifacts and learned quite a few useful tricks 😉. Highly recommend visiting the place. It is not for the faint of heart but you will certainly not regret it!

If you want a passionate host who will show you obscure, interesting historical artifacts combined with an incredibly unique presentation, the KGB museum is the place for you. It's hard finding people with a desire to explore one's passions with others as the host of this museum does - and you will be able to handle several weapons from the Soviet era. You are given as much time as you want to see the many, many curiosities of the Soviet era and have a great person to ask any question you wish. Want a unique museum experience you wont get anywhere else? Go here. Have patience for the tour and enjoy!

I'll get the one negative point out of the way first, its just slightly expensive.... but... You are greeted with a brilliant collection of interesting articles and memorabilia and an enthusiastic owner. I was very impressed with the guide, he is clearly extremely passionate about the history. I learnt a few things i didnt know and really enjoyed myself. We went with 4 other people who were German speakers. The guide was in english, his english is not 100% perfect but definitely good enough for me to understand, sir, I thank you of that! :) Go with an open mind, you will enjoy it.

We either caught Crazy Ivan (Andrei) during a lull or at the start of a tour but he took us right in and provided a fantastic hour of history bundled in tales of intrigue. His English with a fantastic Russian accent will keep you on your toes but adds a level of authenticity to the whole. Prepare yourself to watch him die in a variety on interesting ways. At some points you may find yourself wondering if he could off you and hide the body with ease. He won't admit he's ex KGB but he won't deny it either. Highly recommend this if you're in the area.

This is one of the best and most unusual museums in Prague. It's mostly a guided tour by the owner. He delivers the tour in a funny, engaging and interactive way that is never boring. He has a lot of original relics that he is more than happy to show off. And stay around afterwards the tour to see all the little things in between the big exhibits. All in all the most fun and informative museum in Prague.

I went there in May, 2023 with my aunt. This little museum is a quirky and funny one. The owner and curator is a very funny person and gives very detailed explanations about the comunist history and also produces some sound effects for the guns, while blasting the Soviet Union Hymn and parade videos. His type of humor may not suit everyone, but if you like history or the theme, you should definetely visit this one! Unfortunately I was with my old aunt who only spoke portuguese and started to feel unwell, so I had to cut short my presence there and could not hear the whole tour, but I really like what I saw and was really happy to learn about all the soviet spy weapons and to be able to take some photos with some real WWII weapons... Not sure the owner will read this, but I was the Brazilian Levitan that stopped by some random day :) Sad to see its temporaly closed, so I wish you all the best and that it reopens as soon as possible! Take Care!

Really unique and interesting experience. I have visited many museums but this is one I will definitely remember. A whirlwind tour of Soviet Russia antiques by an eccentric Russian. It was not at all like a normal museum, and if you expect a normal museum you will be disappointed. Instead, go in to see an eccentric Russian showing you all his favourite spy weapons and take a photo holding an AK-47 while surrounded by pictures of Lenin and you will not be disappointed!

More of a tour with guided commentary than a museum purely. But Andrei (The tour guide/ owner) is the man. For all of you shaming the place for the theatrics and weapons/ violence- the KGB spied on people, interrogated them and killed many just like all intelligence agencies do. If you didn’t have an interest in those topics you wouldn’t have gone. Don’t know how else to put it other than that. If you want a museum- museum like the artsy fartsy type, go to the museum of communism (not knocking them because theirs was great- but take the hint). Getting a tour from a man who has walked the walk is a special experience. Andrei, we do shots next time I’m in town!

Usually I do not write reviews , especially for museums, but this one was quite an experience. It is sth really unique, the owner is a really knowledgeable and cool guy. We got some very interesting and enthusiastic insights on spy weapons and Russian special forces. We got to hold some of the weapons as well and take pictures of them. I would totally recommend this tour for adults, even more if you already possess some knowledge about this subject. The guy is very knowledgeable and you would have a great chance to ask him some questions about this subject matter. Try to approach this tour with an open mind, the representation can become a bit theatrical and fanatic, but this is what makes it interesting. Moreover, we really appreciated that he took the tour only with the two of us. As far as I understood, he does not usually take tours with less than 3/4 people.

I quite liked him and didn’t see that sort of entertainment coming, I thought it would be a depressing and overly serious tour. I loved it. Informative, interesting and fun. His accent may be hard to follow in the beginning but you manage to decipher what he says after a bit. Keep in mind that the place is small and not a huge museum

The enthusiastic Russian collector of KGB memorabilia who established this small museum insists on showing visitors around his treasure trove of spy cameras, concealed pistols, weapons (including an original garotte, known as 'Stalin's scarf') and sinister electrical 'interrogation equipment' (read: torture). There are also rare photographs of Prague taken in 1968 by a KGB officer, with ordinary citizens strangely absent from the street scenes. There are no tours for individuals, and groups must consist of at least three people.

Great way to spend an hour if you're into this kind of history. The guy is so enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. You get his undivided attention for this time. Ignore the other reviews about entrance once you are in you are his guests and he makes others wait so you get the full treatment

The museum is a very interesting place and the owner is very knowledgeable regarding the reds side of history. I would recommend this place to those who love military history and a showing of some equipment

Very enthusiastic and very knowledge guide, who gave a very thorough and complete tour of KGB history, and the Soviet History as well (from world War 1 and onwards) a lot of very interesting soy equipment, as well as several different weapons though the years. The only setback is that it was in my opinion a little pricey compared to some of the other tourist and museum tours I've done in Prague. (400 Kč per person) Either way I really enjoyed it! Спасибо! Edit: The owner has let me know that the price is for the guided tour he provides should you want it, (which I recommend thoroughly if you are interested enough to enter) and not just viewing the museum in general.

Awesome experience. Learnt a lot about the great history of KGB and different ways to attack a person depending if you want the person dead or if you still need to acquire information. Better not be an enemy of the KGB, or the owner of this museum 😄

Amazing experience, anyone who is at all interested in spy technology or the history of the Soviet Union will love the tour. I consider myself as more knowledgeable than most and I learned many new things. A must to do in Prague!

Very nice museum. Although not large in size, the personal tour by the owner was both entertaining and informative. Absolutely worth the visit!

The guide himself made this museum 100 times better than any of the other big local museums, and the information he tells you is also more interesting than the other museums. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, not only those who are interested in museums.

Don't leave Prag without having seen this amazing one-man-show. It's both funny and informative. And little creepy ...

Utterly brilliant. Personal collection of KBG memorabilia (and some standard USSR stuff), well worth the time. Owner is passionate and engaging, and his collection is unparalleled. Best thing I did in Prague.
