Great place! It’s a shame most people don’t know about it. We had the museum all for ourself, there are cars, motorbikes… even an old helicopter! Loads of police uniforms, badges and ID cards. Most of the objects can’t be touched but there is a few interactive activities which are really fun.

I assume that this is one of the less frequented museums in Prague, or at least it is unlikely for the first timers to visit. Though most of the content is in Czech only, there exists a booklet in English briefly explaining the exhibition. There is a section featuring the unusual and serial crime in Czech republic too.

This place is awesome. It was 50k each to get in. The building itself was beautiful. Big wide hallways and tall ceilings. Very clean with white stone floors all the way through. The exhibits were brilliant and although there were only a few translated into English it was easy to understand what was going on. There are also some interactive exhibits. The one in the traffic room was hilarious!!!! This would be enjoyable for anyone with an interest in policing or military and especially someone with a background from such. There were some exhibits which were obviously relevant to the history of the country such as specific murder cases or high profile incidents (I think natural disasters and incidents with bombs etc) it would have been good if these exhibits had a translation to English but it was all still enjoyable. Unfortunately the garden area was closed which has vehicles and a helicopter on display. These things could be seen however it wasn't a massive loss that the garden was closed. It took about an hour for us to walk round at a leisurley pace. Set aside more time if you can read the language as everything looked interesting!!!

(Translated by Google) It is a very beautiful museum. We will definitely arrive at least 45 more. There are a lot of old and current car models. It is clear that the owners of this unique collection really do it from the heart. (Original) Je to velmi krásné muzeum. Určitě ještě alespoň 45. přijedeme. (Translated by Google) The price tag of the entrance ticket is very humane - 50 Kč versus the rapier one for 150 Kč The results exceeded expectations. The exhibition area was impressive. The exhibits are genuine. Many interesting facts. Spacious rooms, good lighting. There are also no less interesting exhibits in the open air on the territory of the museum. These are mainly Soviet equipment from patrol boats, the Volga M-21 to the Mi-2 helicopter assembled in Poland. A couple of exhibits caught the eye. A Volkswagen Passat B6 of the period 2004-2010 stood modestly at the fence. outwardly no different from civilians. All tuning nameplates were removed, only regular ones. According to the description plate, inside there is a 3.6L shaitan motor under 300 hp, which was installed on the Artega GT sports cars. Then I saw some kind of miraculous wedge heel on wheels in the shape of a flying saucer, at first I did not understand what the catch was. You never know what model to shoot as a target. I did not notice explanations of the sensible on the plate. Googled. It turns out one dude decided to leave Czechoslovakia with his family. The passenger car was sheathed with thin sheets of iron and alga behind the Iron Curtain through barbed wire. The plan itself failed for many reasons. Although he is called a miracle locksmith, he hardly studied SoproMat together with Logic. I mounted two engines and made the structure heavy with rolling thin steel, which would still not have protected the border guards with AK-47 from small arms at that time. I carefully examined this wunderwaffe. Not a test! Needless to say, propaganda from both sides mocked this event as best they could. Ultimately, this coffin on wheels was recognized as an example of human dexterity and the desire for freedom.

Quite nice and extensive exhibitions. The best part probably being the crime scene investigation section with real notorious crime cases from Czechoslovak and Czech history. Sadly for foreigners all descriptions are in Czech only.

It’s a cool place if you want to experience the old Prague with its communist outdated classic touch. Other than that tickets are cheap but don’t provide a memorable experience. I guess more for local since there is NO ENGLISH anywhere so mostly you have no idea what you are looking at. Lots of old cool gadgets to see on display and some gruesome areas off limits for kids.

Entrance is 50Kn, and contains numerous uniform, weapons, crime photographs along with decommissioned devices/guns, old motorbikes and interactive items.....however, I didn’t see any English translation throughout the museum which was disappointing. The garden which appears to contain old Police cars, a Police helicopter and a police boats was also closed. If you are from a Policing background it’s would still be worth a visit

Free Entry - Visited on a whim and so pleased we did. Plenty to see and some very well laid out exhibits covering all aspects of Police Work including that of the border guards during WW2 and the Cold War. Well worth seeking out.

An unconventional museum. There are little to none English translations. You have to ask for a key to use the bathroom and you're given a basic English guide that you have to also return when you leave. But the museum itself is pretty big and diverse so there are plenty of things to see overall

I loved the museum. Nice exhibition, especially for those who are interested in czech police/criminal history. Most information is in czech, would be great to add translation in english.not crowded. The entry is really very cheap, some days the entry is even absolutely free.

This was a really good day out, unfortunately we only gave ourselves 2 hours to look about (and it’s so big it didn’t give us enough time), the annoying part is none of the signed we’re in English so I used Google translate however once we done this it was easy to understand, I had a great day out and to top it off it was free on the day we visited.

(Translated by Google) It may seem to you that the museum cannot offer you anything to know, but the opposite is true. You will not only be pleasantly surprised, but you can also see the pedigree of Emperor Charles IV and his father John of Luxembourg, where you will see that idiots rule not only throughout Europe, but also elsewhere in the world ..... (Translated by Google) A very interesting museum on the topic of the police. There is a cross-section of history and the present. A number of interesting exhibits in a large and tasteful object. Just the transport here is a bit more complicated. You need to take a walk. But I don't mind that on a trip. So for me, yes, nice place. I also recommend dwtmi to see how it is with the police. (Original) Velice zajimave muzeum o tematu Policie. Je zde prurez historii i soucasnosti. Rada zajimavych exponatu v rozsahlem a vkusnem objektu. Jen doprava sem je ponekud slozitejsi. This was a pleasant surprise and a chance find. Many artefacts on display, lots to read about the history of Czech Police. Kids will appreciate the possibility to create an identy kit. We did not have enough time to see the adjacent garden but that seemed to have an exhibition of its own. Reasonable admission fee

  • 4/5 Elina K. 9 months ago on Google
Only some of the texts had translation in English, so google lens translation tool came in handy. There was a lot of information to explore and many interesting objects. Some parts of the exhibition may raise questions with smaller children, such as a film regarding drug abuse or murder department.

I thought the museum was very interesting and there was so much to see which was a surprise. The main issue I had with it was that everything was in Czech (I know that I should accept that seeing as that's the country I've visited) however it meant that I knew nothing about what was being shown which was a massive shame as I'd have loved to have learnt more and probably would have spent more time there. For 50chk it's so cheap and well worth the money. There was no one visiting it other than me so I wasn't rushed around. Definitely a hidden gem if people are into the police or from that background. It's nice to see a country that is pro-police 😊

The museum is located on the grounds of the former Augustinian monastery on Karlova Street, which was founded in 1350 by Charles IV. Its natural dominant is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Charles the Great. This museum objectively documents and presents the history, development and operation of security forces in the former Czechoslovakia since its inception to the present.
