Great tour and fascinating insights into the history of Czech Republic. The artifacts and displays bring the history to life. I loved the escape hatch! The communism and bunker tour is available from 'Prague Extravaganza Free Tour'

Can be a bit hard to find (it's in the undergrounds of the Jalta hotel) but I super-recommend it!! A guide in a historical uniform welcomes you and leads you through the tour. Our guide (unfortunately cannot remember his name) was very good, made the tour very interesting and spoke a very good English. Some of the rooms have also an "interactive" section to make things more fun. Since the rooms are a bit small it's better to reserve a spot (or at least check online if a tour is available). Very very good!

Great peek into the paranoid Cold War. Rooms in the Hotel Jalta were bugged and telephone calls were recorded. The rooms were colour coded Red (Enemy), Yellow (Watch), Green (Friendly). The guide Stephen was excellent. He knew his subject. As it turned out the 2 of us had the tour to ourselves.

We've been to the 17:30 tour just yesterday and both of us were amazed. Luckily, there were no other people then ourselfes, so we could enjoy a very private tour with our very nice guide George. It was the perfect way to end our time in Prague and if I could, I'd give you 10 stars, because it was really awesome. Thanks a lot!

(Translated by Google) In the experience to do, unfortunately the guide spoke bad English and recited a story by heart, so it was hard to follow the explanations. Ticket 10 euros (Original) Nell'esperienza da fare, purtroppo la guida parlava male inglese e recitava una storia a memoria, quindi era faticoso seguirne le spiegazioni. Biglietto 10 euro

Not busy at all on a Sunday afternoon - we were the only two people on the tour, which was great! Bit of a hidden gem. Bit small but worth seeing.

Awesome! Very interesting and the guide is so nice and polite, they explained everything brilliantly. I recommend for sure to book the tickets, there are only 12 places, because there is no space for more people. The entrance is in the reception of the hotel Jalta, where will wait you the guide in uniforms. If you are accomodated in this hotel, it is strongly recommended to go there :) The payment is later by card or cash.

Great museum and fantastic guide. Highly recommended! Just be aware - the museum is in the basement of an up market hotel. The sign for the museum is a tiny plaque outside the hotel on the street that is tiny and very easy to miss! Like the size of a dinner plate. We met people who were staying in the hotel itself and still couldn’t find the tour! You go into the hotel foyer then meet the guide. There is absolutely NO information in the hotel foyer- and the hotel staff are extremely unhelpful and on the day were there, after asking if we’re in the correct place, the hotel clerk nearly bit our heads off. The rudest man we met on an entire month long holiday in Europe. The tour is a complete inconvenience to the fancy hotel it seems! They are making their living off tourists, yet despise then? As said though, once the tour guide appears and takes you downstairs to the basement it’s fantastic! I’d recommend that the tour operators simply place a brochure or simple sign somewhere inside the hotel foyer so that people actually know they’re in the correct place, then they don’t have to ‘annoy’ the very busy hotel staff.

Absolutely fantastic tour. Our Guide (Jakub) did a wonderful job in explaining every little detail of the bunker and it's purpose during the Cold War Era. The only thing I regret is not having enough cash with me to give Jakub a proper tip, because let me tell you: the guy definitely know his history! I absolutely recommend doing the tour.

Very interesting meseum. Small warning that it is very warm down in the bunker despite it being a rainy day. Also there is a an escape tunnel you have the option of going through. You have to initially crawl a little bit, but then it opens up. Our guide seemed a little timid at first, but grew in confidence. He was great and it turned out to be well worth the visit. We reserved tickets online and paid cash there, but there was the option of card payment.

Amazing experience for anyone interested in cold war history or history in general. Our tour guide was excellent (I can't remember your name, sorry, but you did an amazing job). The tour was personal and interactive which made it even more fun. Thanks for a great experience!

There is no outside sign marking the location of this museum. Enter through the far right door of the Jalta hotel and you will see a display regarding tour times next to the stairs. The tours are small, in English and describe the evolution of this structure from a bomb shelter for the Czech Communist elite to its use as a secret police facility. Worth the money. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Tickets bought directly from the guide. Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPad

Took students in the age of 17-18 here. They had a great time. Very educating in general about the state of Czechoslovakia during the Cold War. And the tour guide had a good sense of humour.

Interesting peak in a Soviet era secret police bunker in the basement of the Yalta Hotel in Prague. All sorts of gadgets used to spy on guests from the west...

Absolutely wonderful tour by Jakub! He was very thorough and and answered any question we had. Honestly one of our favorite things we did in Prague. I can’t speak highly enough of him and his knowledge. We arrived right at open and joined a group of waiting people, I would recommend booking in advance otherwise you may arrive and a tour is in progress and you could wait an hour for the next.

Brilliant little museum in the depths of the Hotel Jalta. Fascinating and full of history. Our guide today was fantastic and spoke perfect English. Highly recommended for a tour and to have a feel of what it was like in Cold War times

Good organized but always seems boring for some reason. Also the staff does not like you walking down the stairs in a bit faster pace for no apparent reason as well.

Our guide (Filip if I remember well, on November 13th 2021) was passionate about his country’s history. The visit of the bunker gives us another way to discover Prague’s rich history, in a small group, which is perfect. A big thanks to our guide again !

Big thanks to Filip for a very detail oriented experience, I really appreciated being able to explore the facility and ask questions about the different aspects of the communication equipment and weaponry! I would definitely recommend for anyone interested in military history, USSR or communism, or even communications equipment. There's so much to see and do definitely a must-see!

Tucked away inside the hotel’s lobby, it can be difficult to find and requires a booking in advance. But it is well worth a visit, our tour guide was very knowledgeable on the cold war from the perspective of Prague and answered many of our questions. The museum is located underground in a former bunker.

Fantastic exhibit filled with history. Jakub was a terrific tour guide, very informative and witty. We reserved the tour on their website, very easy and no pre-payment required. We just turned up at Jalta Hotel reception and greeted by the “Officer”, paid at the start of the tour. Tours roughly 70 mins, perfect amount of time. Great for adults and families, ideally I recommend you do some light reading on this topic. Enjoy!

Really cool Museum with a lot of different rooms in a old bomb shelter. You cannot go there without a tour guide. The tour guide talked clearly and could answer all my questions.

If you're interested in the topic, make sure you don't miss out on this little place! It's totally worth it taking a guided tour. They explain to you the rooms and some items. Our guide Jakub was just fabulous! All in all, a small but a very nicely composed museum, which gives you a good idea of the communist period in former Czechoslovakia (don't forget, it doesn't exist anymore 😉)

What a great museum! Our guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. This place is run by enthusiasts and is a bit more “raw” than your regular museum, with a functioning hotel above the spy bunker and exhibition space. Definitely visit if you are interested in the Soviet occupation of Czechia.

Shout out to our guide Jacob(Jakob?) who not only knows some comedic timing (and when to be serious) but also kept everyone engaged and could answer every question he got. 10/10 Not only is the bunker super interesting and lovingly equipped, the small group of people i. each group allows you to ask questions and it feels a lot more familiar than in other museums.

Great museum. I went on a guided tour in English with Victor who was a great guide: very knowledgeable and had some pretty good jokes. The tour is fun and I learned a lot about the underground bunker, and the time period it was constructed and used. There are also interactive parts which really add to the experience. I booked online in advance. Thanks for a great tour.

Fascinating tour of this Cold War bunker, some rooms are recreations others are original. The tour keeps the best for last and the final room is in incredible. You are allowed to take the escape hatch - which comes out in the middle of the square - but not actually open the hatch - as it’s sealed shut. You can try on uniforms and hold guns for photos - just don’t put on social media. The tour is a incredible insight into what was happening. Make sure you book the tour in advance. Highly recommended.

Brillant!!!, one of the most underrated museums/tours that we have seen in Prague. Denfinitely a must for anyone who is in Prague for a weekend. The guide was very informative while also engaging. Exhibits were all genuine and gave a real sence of the reality of living in Prague behind the Iron Curtain.

The museum is a bit unpopular and it can be difficult to find it. Just google Hotel Jatar. The museum is inside the hotel. We were lucking that day, there were only my boyfriend and I so we had a kind of private tour :). Otherwise the maximum number of places available for a tour is 12 + the guide. Reasonable price, and the guide is really clear and takes his job seriously. I recommend to anyone who wants to have a glimpse of the life during the communist era in Prague.

(Translated by Google) IT The tour is interesting, obviously the bunker has been "refurbished" in some parts, but it is still beautiful to see and full of interesting objects of the time. There is also room for some interactive activities. The only demerit is the personal comments of the guide, which should be nice, but are simply anti-historical. (For example to say that in the terrible dictatorship in which one lived one was forced to study Russian, as if one did not study English beyond the curtain, or some crude and biased jokes about the value of money). (Translated by Google) Museum this small but a 60mon guided tour of great quality. It's not everyday that you can visit an atomic bunker. If you are looking for an atypical activity go for it. You can take the evacuation tunnel, test gas masks, manually activate the air filtration system, test the walrus or carry an assault rifle (not loaded) with a kepi. The entrance is not necessarily very well indicated so if you go by there know that it is the same entrance as the hotel Jalta. Vous pourrez emprunter le tunnel d’évacuation, tester des masques à gaz, activer manuellement le système de filtration d’air, tester le morse ou encore porter un fusil d’assaut (non chargé) avec un képi.
