An interesting view of the public transport evolution in the city of Prague and a lot of old bus. It is in good shape and all it says that is functional which make them really good. Bravo for the people who is taking care for all of this ages public transport bus and tram.

Disappointing if you have kids. Few years ago, you were able to go inside the trams and buses, now not even single one is open to visitors. So all your kids will get is looking at ton of things from outside. Same for food, nothing allowed inside, so forget feeding your kids there, they will tell you to go outside into the rain. I guess too hard to add few picnic tables inside... Sad

Very cool place with a lot to see. Like others have said the information boards are in Czech so be prepared to translate those if you’re interested. They have a free audio book if you have your phone and your headphones on you. And I was handed a little booklet in English that informs you on each of the trams and when they were in operation. I spent about an hour just nosing around the trams reading the booklet, however you could definitely spend a lot more time hear reading if you’re interested! The historic tram route 41 sets off from here so it’s a perfect opportunity to learn about the public transport in the beautiful city and then ride around in one! Tickets can be bought from the ticket office at the entrance. They were very helpful and spoke good English.

A cute, and old museum. The presentation is not modern or snazzy, and since the captions are in Czech, you need to whip out Google Translate if you don’t understand the language. The captions aren’t very interesting to me, since they are mostly about the technical history of the public transport, which I’m not very interested in. There was a video playing, but the audio was in Czech, and there were no English subtitles. I really liked walking among these technical marvels though—I think Prague’s trams are very cute. I spent one hour here, but you can spend more time here if you read all the captions. To enter, you need to open the door to the entrance. I almost thought that the museum was closed since the door was small, and not opened.

Don't go if you have an active child who wants to try the interactive features. The workers here HATE kids. It's a lovely museum with worst workers. They were extremely rude and unpleasant. My 4yrs old son was playing on the model of tram engine and bells. Yes, he was playing for 5mins just like the other children. And she came with scorn face and standed in front of him, pointing his face and yelled at him to get off. There's no signs to say don't play with the bell, and other visitors, Including adults were doing it as well. It's of course ok she doesn't speak English, but if she wants to tell a visitor off, she at least needs to try to explain why, instead of point on the face and yell. There are lots more she could do before giving such attitude to scare a child who's just simply doing something they provide as a service. And then she started complaining obviously about us to her colleague right in front of us in her own language. That was extremely rude. So I tried to make her explain to us why he deserved such attitude. I asked to find someone speaks English to tell us what happened, then she just left even without looking at us. Another visitor who speak English said to me, don't worry it's nothing about the museum rule. It's just her not liking the sound. Ok, it's not a big amount of money, but we paid to get in here. Not only her, most of workers look rather annoyed to have any visitors. It's shame as the exhibition is great, but this really is the worst museum I had ever visited. Especially since we were very welcomed in the National Technical museum yesterday, today's experience was very upsetting for us all. Oh, and visitors are not allowed to drink nor eat, though I saw a female worker drinking from her bottle in the middle of the museum .

It's just a pity that everything is barred and you can't walk and sit in any of them, BUT they have examples of the interior outside and you can try them - turn the handle of the tram or the steering wheel of the bus, sit in different seats for passengers ... Lots of info and accessories such as rails, trolleys, lubrication, ... and (Original) Kdo má rád tramvaje, trolejbusy a autobusy směle do muzea. (Translated by Google) Amazingly large vehicle exhibition from all eras. Many historical photos and even the development of insulators on catenary masts are on display. Unfortunately, not a single vehicle was accessible and the display boards were only in Czech. At the entrance there is a brochure in German called "Kurz Führer" with a description of the vehicles on display. (Original) Erstaunlich grosse Fahrzeugaustellung aller Epochen. (Translated by Google) Super museum, all vehicles restored look like new. It's a pity that you can't go inside just peek through the bars, but it's still great :-) The cost of admission has changed, now it's CZK 100. It is a pity that the museum is only open on weekends. The museum is fully adapted for people on wheelchairs. (Original) Super muzeum, wszystkie pojazdy odrestaurowane wyglądają jak nowe. Muzeum w całości przystosowane dla osob na wozkach.

The museum is generally quite good. It's your typical "throw everything we have into the shed" type of museum. The exposition is a bit chaotic, outside of a small guide there are no English labels and they don't have any buses or metro on display, but what they have is exceptionally restored. Their tram collection is quite impressive

A nice exhibition of Prague's old trams and buses. There also are newspaper cuttings and maps showing the debates about creating an underground public transportation system and the construction process of the Prague metro. All the explanations are in Czech, however, so you might want to know the language or be with someone who knows it if you intend to read the signs. Nevertheless, it's still interesting, particularly as you can go inside some vehicles. If your visit ends at the right time you can even go for a ride around Prague in a historical tram.

It is a small museum with a beautifully collections of vagons, tram cars and buses. Tram cars are coupled in sets to capture the period of their long operating life (in some cases 60+ years!). The museum has been declared a cultural heritage in 1998. If you want you can even rent a tram. The Prague Public Transit Company offer sightseeing tram rides with historical, T3 Coupe and Měsícek. The museum is open only during the WE and thursday afternoon and not in winter season.

Took my 13yo son to this and we loved it. It's not a massive museum and it's not interactive, but the restored or reconstructed trams are so great. I do wish they had additional labels in English, but still highly recommend this place.

I loved it! I spent more than half a day there, reading and studying all the materials! Note that most of the descriptions and panels are in Czech, so do take an English guidebook from the ticket office if you do not speak Czech.

One of the nicest public transport museums I've been to. It is small and not very rich in exhibits, but it is very interesting. I just didn't like that the visitor can't get on the trams, but it's still worth a visit.

A very nice place for those who would like to see public transport vehicles from the Czech Republic. There are a lot of trams and a few buses and trolleys to see, though their interior is not open to the public. There are also some models and a ton of photos with the history of public transportation for those who are interested too!

This place surprised me in a good way. It's been on my radar for a few years. It just happened we visited the place on a cold rainy day. I was afraid many people might have similar idea. Fortunately there was no ticket line, during our 1.5h visit me met only about 50 people and if ugly weekend afternoon is not a peak time I don't know what is. On weekends parking is easy and free in all 3 streets around the museum. I'd say 1 hour is minimum, plan the visit for 2 hours if you want to know all details about all there is to see. The place is like one large garage. There was about 30 old trams, couple of trolleys, some technical equipment and also old pictures. All of it was interesting for us and our kids, too. There is only one vehicle which you can enter. The others are closed, but there is always a way to look inside. I'm okay with that, I understand it is a must to limit wearing off. It pays off, everything looks perfect, clean and fresh colors. Kids up to 6yo have free enterance. Adults are 100czk and I think it is a fair price. Once our kids learn to read we'll come back so that they can learn all the exciting details they can't appreciate yet :-)

Small but dense museum about the metropolitan public transport in Prague. You will find relucs from the 1800's and, you could take a seat in a few of them. Ideal for children. Some selected days is completely for free. Regularly it costs about 2 USD.

(Translated by Google) A great museum, a great attraction not only for lovers of public transport and trams, but for all tourists. On the map it may appear that it is located far from the center, but from the Charles Bridge, at a slow walking pace, you can get to it in 40 minutes; from Hradčany 20 min. A very interesting exhibition of both photos, tram models and historical carriages. You can visit without a guide, at your own pace and take a lot of photos. The entrance fee is 100 CZK - due to the opening days and hours (Wednesdays and weekends). There is a restaurant next to the museum. I recommend! Obok muzeum restauracja. Polecam!

Nice collection and interesting history of transport in Prague, a city with one of the best systems in the world. Maybe a little dry though - I don't know if it's because of COVID rules but it's a shame you can't actually go inside any of the vehicles. Best way to see it is to ride the number 41 historical tram there, or time your visit so you can ride it afterwards. Still worth a visit and the cheap entry fee.

Fantastic museum, well worth the trip. Don't miss out on a ride on tram 41. 100 year old tram car on a line though the whole city which runs every hour at the weekends in the summer, it'll only set you back 35czk as well

Nice old trams, pity that most of them one can admire only from outside and cannot go inside. Not very interesting for young kids (below 5 years) and the keepers do not like to see them running around. A guestbathroom available, no possibility to buy drink or food anywhere nearby. Not many people also during a weekend.

Old tram depot with 4 rows of trams and some accessories on display. Good range of vehicles. "Condensed" English language guidebook: Czech signs on the trams say more. One can climb the steps of the trams to see inside then, but not enter any of them. Limited range of tram models and gifts for sale. Moderate interest for children. Toilets. No cafe. No bike parking.

  • 5/5 Péter H. 5 years ago on Google
An impressive collection of the historical vehicles about the history of the Prague public transport. Most of them is fully driveable, so you can meet the KT8D5 or the T2 or any of them in the streets also. Therefore you can find always some changes in the collection. The entry fee is 50 CZK for adults (stand: 2018) and they accept only cash, also for the souvenirs.
