I was expecting more things related to domestic authors, a basic film education is what I got. It was still fun, a lot to see and a lot of things to interact with.

A nice cozy museum hidden from the crowded city center. It's better to visit it with a company because you can interact with exhibits. Super fun! Theme-wise, the exposition focuses on early development of the film industry and the avant garde epoch.

This NaFilM: National film museum is a great secret find! It's small, but it's packed with interactive exhibits that make it a lot of fun to explore. The staff are super friendly and the shop is lovely. You can easily spend an hour or two here, but it's better to go when there are fewer people around so you can really take your time. It's an amazing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in film or movies, or whoever likes to play around, really! 5/5 stars.

Excellent museum. Everything was interesting, interactive, and well thought out. Exposition is located on two floors that also thematically separate it into two parts. First is focused on history of film and second on animations. We visited the museum right after being at Matejská pouť and let me tell you, this was the real ride.

Such a great museum! We both learned loads, and the exhibits were really interactive and engaging. Our favourite exhibit was the stop-motion animation near the end, we let our creative side loose. We paid a small amount extra to see the VR animated short film. It was definitely worth it, and the highlight of our time there. The folks there were also super friendly and helpful, and made sure we got the most out of our visit. It is our favourite museum that we have been to so far.

Really great little museum and hidden gem in Prague. Interactive, detailed, helpful staff and not overwhelming. Would very highly recommend for all ages and anyone in Prague who wants to go somewhere a little different and off the beaten track. Very central so convenient to get to yet tucked away near a lovely small city garden that's also worth exploring. The museum covers the science of film, gives a broad history and covers major techniques and periods in its development. Went as relative film buff with partner who rarely watches film and we both found it very enjoyable!

This is a very cute place where you can learn a lot about the history of film in a fun way! Most things you can even try out yourself, such as creating your own film sound or animation. When encountering any struggle with how some things are supposed to be used the staff is very eager to help you out and that in an extremely friendly way, they are very polite and try to make your visit as comfortable as possible. All in all it was a very pleasant experience!

Very quirky and inexpensive way to learn a bit about Czech cinema and film making. Not mind blowing but good for the price, especially considering that it's a student project. Would definitely recommend if you want something a little different and very interactive.

Amazing! We had so much fun here. The exhibitions are very interactive, which at first glance made me think of it being more suitable for children, but it really is a blast for all ages. We spent a lot of time at each exhibit because they were all so interesting! The women who run the place are clearly very passionate about what they do, and it shed a nice light on the technical aspects of film. The museum is very young, so it was not crowded when we were there. Tickets were quite cheap, especially given the quality of the exhibits and the amount of time we spent there. I’d recommend this for all lovers of film, animation, photography - it left us very happy :)

Hidden gem in the center of Prague! ❤ Beautiful little museum run by Czech film students. Great expositions about the history of film and animation, machines you can use that illustrate some of the concepts and a some great short movies. Would definitely recommend watching "A place under the sun" while you're there. Had a chat with some of the students who founded the museum. Extremely friendly and interesting people who are passionate about what they're doing.

One of the best museums I’ve ever been to. It’s so much fun and you can learn a lot of things of the early days of cinema and films. Everything is interactive and the staff is super helpful. I think it’s a must visit in Prague. Perfect for children and grown-ups as well. (It is only cash)

A hands-on museum where you can experience how light meets the eye in creating motion pictures and get involved in film making process. You'll have a great experience as a souvenir, maybe even a copy of your own film.. The staff was very nice, patient and helpful and their enthusiasm about the museum would be the reason enough to check the place out. Highly recommended for anyone curious and creative. :)

Small and cozy museum, showing the science behind movies. A lot of experiments to be done yourself, a VR part, which is quite fun, and an self-made animation in the end. Warmly recommended, time well spent!

Amazing, honestly a hidden gem! You get to play around with voices, Foley making, VR experience, illusions etc. The people are extra helpful and they are around to help you experimenting. The price is low and the experience can last up to 2 hours. Totally worth it and highly recommend it (family friendly too)! 🥳🤩 In the end you can make your own animation (not as hard as it sounds)

This museum was one of my most fun museum experiences in Prague. I absolutely loved the foley room experience where we could record sound effects to movies as a way to explore historical methods in film sound. So much fun! Wish we could share the recorded videos to social media, but even still, just a fun experience!

Came here with some friends on the last day of holiday. It was raining so needed some things to do inside. The lady was really attentive and helpful. Everything was very cool and enjoyed the interactive nature, especially recording sounds over the video and stop motion. Couldn't recommend highly enough and at about £4 per person you can easily spend 1-3 hours here so great value for money.

If you're looking for a fun museum in Prague this is the place to go! Almost everything in it is interactive, from VR to a sound effects room, it has it all. The staff were also very friendly and helpful! One thing to note: you can only pay for the tickets with cash, when you're there, but there are ATMs around to make a withdrawal.

Wonderful hidden gem in Prague! A really informative and interactive museum with a kind and friendly staff. We spent a good few hours there and had lots of fun! If you don’t want to pay in cash, you should buy tickets online beforehand and make sure to check out their map of how to find them, because the place is a bit hidden. Nevertheless, really worth checking out!

Small but amazing interaction museum! The VR portions of the museum were amazing and felt life-like. I learned a lot about the history of film including the early avant garde. There was a foley room that was interactive and that was super cool as well. The price is great (190 crowns for adults, approximately 8USD) especially because I spent about 2 hours in there. Also CASH ONLY! Just know you have to enter the museum through the Jungmann garden. The entrance is a bit hidden.

Super super cool Museum. I really liked going here it's interactive and everything is explained greatly. The stuff is very nice and helpful. Unfortunately there is no card payment but they accept euros. I paid 10€ for the entrance and the VR movie experience. There are two VR Movies one is included in the entrance but is only shorter and one is about 25 min and costs extra. I spend two good hours here and had a lot of fun experimenting with the different stations. You can even animate your own little movie. Learning by doing works great at this place. Definitely worth a visit while in Prague

Such an incredible museum. Interactive throughout. Tells the story of how films evolved wonderfully. Staff very helpful. Spent an hour there and everyone enjoyed it - from our 12 year old daughter to our teen son to us and my mother. Highly recommend.

this is easily one of the best museums I've been to. Super interactive, modern, interesting and the staff is very friendly and dedicated. You can see immediately that people who created this museum are indeed in love with cinema and put their soul into this museum. We are planning to visit again, when the editing room will also open. I wish this museum and its workers all the best! Btw they also have a coffee place inside, which is super cute.

Loved the extra VR movie. Loved the fact that you can touch and ply around with almost everything. Especially liked the shot by shot movie, the voicing over of a movie and Poe show. A clever way to both have fun and find out about movie making.

This is NOT a boring historic museum on film. It is interactive, fun and informative! The interactive components awakened a child-like curiosity in me. The staff looked after me and gave me instructions and additional information. Very friendly young people that work here.

Great experience for very good price! Such fun! Definitely weren't there for the last time - They're expecting new story for VR very early (probably till the end of the year). Best highlights - Creating your own animation and creating your own effects for the movie :)

Amazing! As a person who is already well aware of the prehistoric cinema and its early days, I had a lot of fun experiencing it myself. Zoetropes can be found in most of film museums but the recording studios - not at all! Worth visiting with or without children. It is fun and doesn't feel infantile or goofy. Very much recommended! I'm looking forward for this museum to grow and tell a lot more in the future. I'm hoping for some Czech animation extension ❤️

Definately worth a visit as it will explain te basics of Film over the years. Some interesting and well explained installations, kids-friendly. Don't expect a history of Czech Film making or others. It is more a technical thing.

(Translated by Google) Very nice and lovingly furnished museum! The rooms all offer interactive media to try out. The topics relate to the beginnings of filmmaking, but also to newer techniques (e.g. VR glasses). For example, you can create the sounds for a film in a room with the help of various objects. The staff was super friendly and also explained and demonstrated things! You also get an iPad with which you can have the texts translated. If you are in Prague you can definitely stop by here;) (Original) Sehr schönes und liebevolles eingerichtetes Museum! Die Räume bieten alle interaktive Medien zum ausprobieren. At first, the lovely staff, second they have delicious coffee and pastry, but, of course, most importantly, the museum is perfect, the most interactive museum, fits for children but also adults.
