Why is it worth visiting Botanical Garden of Charles University in Prague ? I was in Prague. I didn't know what to do, so I started wandering the streets. I decided to stop by this amazing place. My heart stopped. I was shocked at this breathtaking home of beutiful creatures - plants. I was walking for hours watching the wonderful vegetation. I sat down on the bench and started to think about my existence. My thoughts have never been so clear. It was the best experience of my life. You can stop here from the overwhelming city life and fully enjoy nature in quiet place full of happiness. My life is completely different now.

The lanes of the botanical garden are so and so, a bit in the wild side, but at least the specimens are properly labeled. What really shines here is the greenhouse and the parrots expositions. There are nice collections of succulents, cacti, banana trees, and many more exotic plants, many from Australia as well. The parrots are many as well and of all shapes, sizes and colors. As far as I can understand, you can even buy parrots and they even sell food and all you need to care for them. For the greenhouse and parrots there is an entrance fee of 150 czk and they only take *cash*, so make sure to have some with you.

A beautiful garden that attracts artists, young and old to enjoy the gardens and the greenhouses. There is a wide variety of plants and squirrels can be seen. It is a great spot to find peace and tranquility in a sonetimes busy capital city. It is great to visit and mostly free except the greenhouse which costs 100 CZK.

I really liked this botanical garden, it’s free, there’s a lot to see and it’s really relaxing to walk around the park. I would recommend if you’re near Vynohradi and you’re looking for something to do on a boring Sunday afternoon. The park closes at 6pm. Saw a bunch of cute squirrels and birds there which is always a plus.

A nice botanical garden with a wide variety of plants and trees. The outside area is free of charge, however to enter the inside area you have to pay a small amount. In the greenhouse there are a lot of tropical trees and also a pond with tropical fish. The second part of the inside area is full of cactuses which can be found in the desert areas.

Great place to visit and take pictures. There's so many rare plants and the gardens are well maintained. The greenhouse has a fee and isn't open as late as the grounds, I didn't realize this until I got there and it was closed. It's open until 4:30pm so plan ahead! The birds are friendly and fun to interact with.

A pleasant garden with flowers and trees near Karlovo Namestie The Botanical Gardens are open to the public and are a pleasant place to stroll through and to rest. Those who are interested in botany and horticulture will find many beautiful specimens here, and those who are less knowledgeable will still enjoy the shady walks. The area is not huge, but it is worth doing if you are in the area and have an interest in flowers.

Beautiful batanic garden with a comprenhensive variety of plants from around the world. There's also an open permanet Geology exhibit with minerals from different regions of the country that I found kind of unique. Admission to the outdoor areas is for free and  100 crowns (only cash) to the green house. Perfect to get away from the crowds and relax.

Great place to chill out and learn more about various plants and rocks. There is a small craft shop offering succulents in nicely decorated pots. Free access to the old botanical garden, located just off Karlově náměstí.

Nice little oases in the middle of Praha. I wish there wasn't so much traffic noise. But put on a headset and enjoy the lovely gardens.

Beautiful garden and great thing to do in Prague on a winters day. Very peaceful sitting on a bench with the sun shining and birds chirping. Enjoyed the visit.

A beautiful small botanical garden with loads of different things to see and explore. You are welcomed by the sound of birds chirping. I absolutely enjoyed the cactus room there was a wide variety and I loved it.

Unfortunately, I could only look at the outdoor area because the garden was closed at short notice and probably remains closed longer. Unfortunately, there were no notes on the Internet. The free outdoor area was well maintained. Too bad, might have been an interesting day 🥲.

Lovely little garden oasis! The orchid exhibit was outstanding - the cactus & succulent exhibition was also very well done. The gardens outside are nice to stroll through, too. Highly recommend. Affordable, too.

Botanická zahrada Přírodovědecké fakulty UK is truly an oasis nestled in the heart of Prague. As soon as you step inside, you are transported to a world of lush greenery and tranquility. The garden's diverse plant collection is breathtaking, providing a refreshing escape from the bustling city. What sets this botanical garden apart are the enchanting parrots that reside here. Not only are they a vibrant addition to the surroundings, but they can also talk, adding an extra element of fascination and delight. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Botanická zahrada Přírodovědecké fakulty UK is a must-visit destination that will leave you enchanted.

It’s a beautiful place. So many old trees and flowers the indoor with its cactus is fabulous! If you just want to sit outside benches are everywhere a relaxing place to be…don’t miss out of it.

Outside (free) is nice to walk around, inside also very nice (100czk, for students 50czk). There are birds in very small cages, which is pretty sad, but I do not know what exactly their needs are and what the circumstances of them being there are. Plants are all nice though! Describtions are only in Czech unfortunately.

A perfect place to spend your weekend morning at! Loved the park territory, and especially the greenhouse! We took a walk through the bushes, walking these little paths, talking, and it all made a great memory. Wish the greenhouse was a bit bigger, with more sections in it, but what it is today is already pretty amazing, aesthetically pleasing and lovely during warmer times. Also, there are multiple places you can make perfect pictures at!

(Translated by Google) Very nice place for a walk, exhibition or just to sit and relax. That is, if there were more people interested in nature and less in the area. Free admission, but I would like to contribute to the maintenance and pay the entrance fee (Original) Moc pěkné místo na procházku, výstavu nebo jen tak posedět a odpočinout si. Tedy pokud by v areálu bylo více zájemců o přírodu a méně o nocleh. Vstup zdarma, ale rád bych na údržbu přispěl a vstupné zaplatil

(Translated by Google) The garden is nice, the greenhouses the same as when I was little. When too many people gather, one does not enjoy the exhibitions much, even if they are successful. (Original) Zahrada je pěkná, skleníky stejné jako když jsem byla malá. Když se sejde moc lidí, člověk si výstavy moc neužije, i když jsou povedené.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful walk through autumn nature, peace and quiet sitting in the countryside. Beautiful glasses and also a nice exhibition of cacti and last week's birds. I recommend for calm and nature lovers. (Original) Krásná procházka podzimní přírodou, klid a pohoda na posezení v zeleni. Krásné skleniky a také pěkná výstava kaktusů a minulý týden ptactva. There are 3 sections. The main glasshouse, which cost 55czk to enter, the special exhibit space above the main glasshouse (40czk when we were there), and then the outdoor grounds. The outside grounds are free and are nice to wander around, and we saw a lot of people relaxing on benches around the garden. Both of the exhibition spaces, however, were super small and really not that's impressive or worth the entry fee. Would skip the paid probs and just enjoy the outdoor walk.

Nice gardens, inside the greenhouse are exotic trees and plants from Vanilla to Pineapple and papaya. Outside free gardens are also wonderful

  • 5/5 Ana 2 years ago on Google
Peace and beauty. Outdoor area is free, you only pay for greenhouse, and its not expensive. Its categorized nicely, you can take map in greenhouse (in case you want one). You could even see frogs, different snails and i believe salamanders in pond.

Wonderful botanical collection of plants. A quiet place to study and relax. Free WC;)

  • 4/5 Roman K. 2 years ago on Google
Nice botanical garden not far from the city center on the one side and Vltava river bank on the other. The entry is free, so you could make a brief visit whenever you are in the neighborhood. The plants are very nice looking, especially during the bloom. And there's almost always some flowers blooming since the spring and until the autumn. Big disappointment is nonfunctional toilet. It's actually there, but the mechanism which accepts coins is broken, so you can't get inside. Also, as of summer of 2021, the garden is redoing the walkways, so there is a lot of dust and some construction noise.

  • 5/5 Robert E. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful park, especially the indoor areas with the succulents are striking. The entryfee is more than adequate.

  • 5/5 Jason D. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely gardens to while away an hour or so. Relatively small glasshouse with lots of tropical plants, and some parrots. Outside gardens have a range of plants from different parts of the world. Some nice shady benches to sit on.

Beautiful botanical garden, both the outdoor park and the greenhouse. It's smaller and more quirky than the main one, and you can avoid the masses. Inside they take care of parrots, which I love.

Quite beautiful, somewhat informative (there were at least signs on almost every plant) and free entrance! The rock/minerals exibition is quite interesting.

  • 5/5 Meli M. 1 year ago on Google
Super beautiful gardens with hundreds of different plants, flowers and trees, each and every single one labeled. There were people hanging around, having lunch or some beers just relaxing under the trees. There's also a little restaurant / bar at the entrance which has great beer and some nice classic czech dishes!

Nicely filled botanical garden with a wide variety of flora from around the world. The cacti were beautifully showcased. There are a few poster boards with English text. Say hello to the African Greys while you’re there!

This is a large botanical garden just south of the city centre. There is a large greenhouse at the entrance. It also has an arboretum so there are plenty of benches in the shade. At the back of the garden is an exit that leads to a student cafe.

Crowns, but it is only for indoor halls, and the alleys can be walked for free. an interesting alley with rock fragments, to which there is detailed information about their origin and formation ... Restful stop within the city. Gardens & plants need tending (watering, pruning and dead-heading) but it has a good variety of flowers, shrubs, cacti and even rocks ! Tables, chairs and benches are scattered around so you can take a rest within the grounds.

(Translated by Google) Free admission, except for the greenhouse, where the entrance fee is rather symbolic, at the level of CZK 55 per adult. Various exhibitions also take place more or less regularly in the greenhouse. A short story Kaktus by Mr. Čapek is written on the sidewalk around the greenhouse - but it would need to be restored. Mature trees provide pleasant shade, but some descriptive tables deserve to be restored and others could be supplemented.
