I don’t particularly understand how one who never made it inside can review the club but be it, Google isn’t picky. The same reason people give for not liking the place (the limited access to the club by Erasmus student groups or rowdy stag nights) is the reason Ankali is perhaps the best venue in Prague. Quite the oposite experience with staff too. I never experienced them being impolite or unfriendly, particularly the bar staff. As for security: they are security, there to make sure the right mix of people get in & the club is safe, they are not your baby sitter.

Doormen think that they are special ones, touched by God's hands. Their arrogance is even bigger than their stupidity. Asking to "candidates" a list of questions related to techno or clubbing culture: when you were being breastfeeding, I was already dancing in better techno clubs than yours. Who the hell are u for telling me without any reason "not tonight". You are a bad coppy of authentic Berlin's clubs, lack of imagination without any soul, very sad. I hope, this club's life to be even shorter than the staff class, I won't rest until see it. With king regards from hell, your cherished customer.

Been hearing about this place for quite some time, and finally decided to try it. I arrived shortly before 23 and there was no queue, so I just stood before the gate and the queue slowly started forming behind me. The first doorman greeted me in both Czech and English, and pointed straight inside, which surprised me, because I was expecting an interrogation (went there specifically to hear Shdw & Obscure Shape, so I was prepared to answer potential questions). Other doormen weren’t so chill - they searched me head to toe, looking even inside my tobacco, but ultimately they decided I had nothing bad on me. The rest of the staff was friendly, standard cloak room, chill zone with nice projections and comfy seats. The dance floor was nicely dark and damp, with little pulsating lights on the ceiling. I appreciated the little garden for smoking and enjoyed the crowd’s energy. Thank you for reading this tiresomely long review, I will definitely be coming back.

Super pretentious place, sometimes the bouncers don't let you in for no reason, they intend to be Berlin style but the atmosphere is class, kitsch and expensive. Would not recommend it. There are many better clubs in Prague and in Vršovice.

Great place but not if you just wanna dance the night away.. the dance floor is not the biggest attraction. although good atmosphere and a nice chilling room

Used to be great but now it's just cringe. Fuchs and Altenburg are considered the best techno places in Prague now.

Not the same place as it used to be. "Face check" at the entrance is just a joke. Pretending to letting go inside people, who know techno, but for some reason they whistle and scream, while drop is coming. Please, start to check ID again, would be nice not to feel like you are celebrating Sweet 16 with your BFF'S. Wake up Ankali, you are not German club, so stop pretending like you are one of them ❤️

Strange admission right in this place. They think they invented the parties yesterday. Proud of not being admitted there. They make a job interview before entering, simply ridiculous. Much better places in Prague definitely. They didn't even give any reason. It must be full of Nobel prizes inside

I place for my soul to be free and leave all the heavy things behind. Safe space for every person that comes in. I'm only sad when i need to leave in the morning, would love to be here forever. Ankali is a Berlin inspirated techno club. They really don't care what you do in there, unless you are not harassing anyone. The music is amazing and every time there is an event i know I'm going to enjoy it. Definitely the best official techno club in Prague.

I've been to the club several times but I've never experienced that employees treat people as badly and callously as here. personal evaluates people according to how they look or how they weigh. A person who likes techno music is not allowed into the club. no one should encourage such behavior as here. I have lived abroad for a long time and I have never met people like here. when I waited, they didn't let the Czech boys go just because of their clothes. it's disgusting. I'd rather go to another state.

4.2 stars for this place? hahaha I have to laugh... Arrogant doorman who denies access without giving reasons. We have a lot of clubs in Prague, there is no point in going there...

This place where you use to go during the winter, invite some friens from Germany, Switzerland and Spain to visit the 5th anniversary. Then after a long queue the guy at the door says sorry but you cannot make it today. No reason, maybe he does not like our clothes, faces, nationality... who knows. Never again.

I really don't get people... Rarely seen such friendly/uninterested bouncers... Yes, they gonna ask you why you are there, for which artists or whatsoever, but nothing to privy, if you are not a drunken stag party it shouldnt be an issue to get in.... If you are maybe just stay away for everyone's sake 😂 prices are still reasonable, the crowd is great, and the music is fire as well ❤️🔥❤️

We came in shortly after 11pm, the staff was pretty nice, inside of the club look really good but you really don’t wanna take any hallucinogen stuff in there. On the other side the music/dance experience was terrible. People does not know how to dance in your own bubble, they are constantly hitting you, cause they are too drunk. Music aint really getting the vibe, dj often just ruin the drop or experiment with something they don’t really know. Overall they are trying to get close to Berlin clubs, but not close enough…

The worse dancing place I've ever been in Prague. The club is pretending to be a cool German club with face control. Seems like a doorman understands who is a techno lover and who is not. The entrance was about 20 euro for nothing. I wouldn't recommend this place to my hommies. In Prague you can find more better places then this fake.

Definitely a unique place. It’s located randomly in a abandoned factory. Dark and mysterious vibes, reminded me of Berlin. The music was good, the foggy and underground atmosphere made it special. We started the night in a popular club, that seemed a high school party. We left after 1hr and discovered this place. Best decision ever. If you come to Praga, check this place. The men at the door engaged us in a conversation about the rules and the place… a little strange. But they were nice.

I've been to various techno events, but here the level of selection at the entrance was embarrassing. Strange questions at the entrance, after answering, the bouncer stands and looks at you like a criminal then sneeringly smiles and says you won't get in...

Expensive entry, crowd very young and touristy, music at best okay but the club only is half full and most people leave at 03:00. Staff is friendly though. All in all an expensive Erasmus party.

The music was really good but the people were really strange. At the beginning the securyties asked us some questions and were really serious, they even covered our cameras, so that we couldn't take any pictures . When we went in there, there weren't many people. There was also a room with a code and we think that the people have sex in there but we aren't sure about that.

I consider Ankali and Planeta Za to be the best techno/music venue in Prague. (That I visited so far) Whenever I visit, I'm greeted by open, respectful, and friendly atmosphere created by both visitors and the staff. The music tends to be great there and enjoying it is made easier by the absence of camera flashes, because they are covered at the entrance. I'll definitely keep visiting this place :)

Was there one night. Very nice club though quite pricy. Main floor very dark and disorienting just how I like it. 2nd floor bit cozier. All floors have at least 4 speakers so dead spots don't really exist. They do select at the door but it seems to be reasonable. Just don't give off too much dude bro vibes, say that you respect the rules and you should be fine. Ventilation was a bit lacking that evening. I think this is more of a preference issue then an actual issue with the system. People there seemed to be following the etiquette but ofc there always has to be that group that plants itself in the middle of the floor and starts talking over the music. Guess the door isn't impenetrable. Generally the club tries to maintain an interesting booking. Not really avant-garde but also not the techno you have already heard a million times. I do recommend this club, at least in winter. Don't know what it's like when the tourist hordes are invading in summer.

Ankali is a good spot in Prague, a proper techno bunker! The doormen and security were friendly, the club is cool and a good sound system. The music on the night I was there was nothing special though, especially for a 20 euros entry fee. One of the few techno night clubs in Prague.

Waited in the queue for an hour and they didn’t let us in because the door man didn’t like our suits. (They wanted to keep it neuter they said). - Also, at the entrance, be ready for a quick quiz, they got upset we didn’t know the no names line up for the event.

Since 4 Years I´m totally in love with this cozy Club! The Audience & Bartenders are always nice & its super easy to get in touch with everyone. The Journey was always been worthwhile for me!

The security guy tries to behave nice but the attitude is really arrogant as hell. They won’t let people in based on random questions. If you don’t know the answer, they’ll be passive aggressive and deny you entry, with some patronising excuses.

Place is great, and the music on spot. Bad part: the bar staff gets chummy with the change when you pay cash, they give you the drinks and expect you to get tired of waiting around or do they just take for granted that the change is their tip? Stressful situation.

Very good hard techno club in prague. Better than business clubs like roxy. Much less mainstream people.

I’ve been going to Ankali for the past 3 years. I love the place. The only problems I had was sometimes some drunk/drugged out dudes but if you speak with security they will immediately intervene. The bouncers are what theyre meant to be, picky. Its a techno club, theyre not gonna let any type of person in, so if you couldnt go in, stop whining about it. Check the djs playing on the event on fb to make sure which music will be playing.

The best electronic music venue in Prague in my opinion. Not so big but pretty cool. Amazing djs and atmosphere. Alcohol expensive though.

Really good techno club, 2 floors, outside area with radiant heaters and "relaxed" security ;)

  • 1/5 Aljoscha W. 7 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
When the first question from the doorkeeper is "where are you from?" the vibe is automatically of. After that a pretentious conversation about berghain doorpolicy started because we are not part of the "community". As a gay man I wouldn't go there.
