👍👍 Charming little museum on 3 levels. The exhibition will bring you back in time to the early decades of the 1900, when furniture and ornaments were full of edges and corners. Sofas and chairs looked a strange mixture of retro-futurism and then off you go to the local Orient cafe, where you can enjoy... Charming little museum on 3 levels. The exhibition will bring you back in time to the early decades of the 1900, when furniture and ornaments were full of edges and corners. Sofas and chairs looked a strange mixture of retro-futurism and then off you go to the local Orient cafe, where you can enjoy cakes in the shape of a proper cubist sculpture.

Czech Cubism - A very unique museum of fine arts, applied arts and architecture. The collection is housed in the first cubist building in Prague. It was designed by Josef Gocar and was once used as a shopping mall for women during the turn of the century. Helpful Hints: The museum offers discounts to the museum store and the Grand Cafe Orient. Also, check out the interior stairway for amazing photos.

It's interesting to get an idea about cubism, specially on the architectural and interior design aspects buy also on the limits of its practicality. The building itself is the fist architecture piece done in the cubism style, as far as I understood. At the fist level there is the original cafe design in cubism style as well. The visit starts from the 4th floor and then go down. If you get the ticket for the Museum of decorative arts (the one next to the old Jewish cemetery), this cubism museum is included as well, which is very nice. To pay a full ticket just for the cubism museum would be too much for me (10 euro), as there is not that much too see here unless you are a diehard fan of cubism. The staff was very nice, though, and very passionate about cubism that they would want to show you around and point out some of the important parts of the displays.

Beautiful objects in a very stylish building. There is a cafe on ground and on first floor, both Beautiful, a must see when in Prague as this is a very authentic place

This isn't for everyone, but for those with an interest, it is well worth the time. A nice 2-story exhibit (mostly furniture) and a short slide show featuring prominent Cubist architects. I found it well done and very interesting. The staircase is a fabulous example of Cubist design. There's also a lovely period cafè on the first floor (great for a stop afterwards).

It was a disappointment. But we don't know what we were expecting - it was CZECH cubism museum, not cubism museum. On 2 floors there were only a few paintings, some furniture and sculptures. And that's it. It looked nice, but there was only so much text to read about things (which was boring). It was museum speed run, it took us about 20 mins max. For real cubism fans it might be great, but for just tourist it is not fun at all.

Small museum but very nice exhibitions. When visiting, grab a free map which shows location of cubist buildings in the Prague center and visit them all 👍 after seeing the exhibitions, refresh yourselves with an egg Benedict at the Grand Café Orient on the first floor, which is furnished in the cubist style and has a nice terrace (cash only).

Enjoyed the exhibition a lot. For the small price you paid, very worth visiting. Much better than some of the overpriced musuems in Prague.

Well, let’s start with the house. It is unbelievable! Do not hesitate to enter, climb the unique staircase and enjoy the exhibition of Czech Cubism. On the way back do not miss the café on the first floor (this is the real cubist style one; not the café on the ground floor).

The desserts are amazing. Worth visiting this place! The staff is really helpful and polite. The green apple dessert was the best from the ones we checked. You need to go to the refrigerator of the desserts with one of the staff and choose whatever you like. The prices are good and the Mulled Wine is served in a large glass, and it is great in the winter. Son't miss it! It is in the centre.

If you have any interest in furniture design and art visiting here is a must...the precursor to art deco, some really gorgeous pieces worth the 300cz entry

Must see if you're a cubism/modern art lover. Avoid the cafe though.

Rare jewel of last century's architecture with 2 individual cafés on the different levels. The cubism could be even more consequent with the dishes they serve. I would have expected not a single round or rounded object on the menu. Nevertheless - very tasty!

A concise history of Cubism in Czech Republic through print, architecture, furnishing and decorative art pieces. Those who are into design will find this fascinating. I spent about 45 mins here. I read all the large information panels and spent longer looking at those exhibits that interested me. I discovered a map showing other Cubism architectural places of interest around the city. Unfortunately I was at the end of my time in Prague, so I did not get to see these. Cafe on the first floor looked very inviting, less crowded than cafe below and more authentic. The place is very quiet, with a selection of exhibits that fully demonstrate the importance of Cubism in the Czech Republic. It is not a big museum, but it is beautifully curated.

Architects, interiors and furniture designers must see the museum. The museum has a brilliant range of czech cubist designed furniture and a good written history of the development of the style and its offshoots.

Cubism had a great influence on Czech architecture, furniture design, and decoration of the period and beyond. The result, no doubt not to everyone's taste, imparts a liveliness to building facades, furniture, and domestic items by breaking up the usual boxiness of form. Eye-opening.

It is not a big museum, but with rare exhibits. Nice for interested in furniture and architecture. The building, in which the exhibition takes place, is also an exhibit. Nice personnel, not many visitors

Was soll ich sagen!? Wir wollten Mal etwas Anderes essen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Diese süßen kleinen Verführungen sind der absolute Wahnsinn 👀!!! Und die eventuelle Wartezeit auf einen Sitzplatz wert ...

Nice museum highlighting an era of art from Czechoslovakia for a very limited time frame. Have just acquired additional items for their collection.

Unique architecture and super nice staff. The museum is not that big, so it won’t take you longer than an hour. Make sure to say you’re a student (if you are), because they have a reduced price. And finally, don’t take photos inside, as it’s not allowed.

It was a nice museum, you learn about Czech cubism. It’s on three floors, the stairs are wery interesting (in a shape of a light bulb). There are mostly cubism furniture, some architectures and a few paintings.
