This restaurant used to be my most visited and favourite restaurant in Prague. But the quality has dropped enormously. The portion is getting smaller and smaller. It took around an hour for the food be served. The food has also gone cold by the time it is served. This is unacceptable.

Portion was so huge, I can't finish my food eventhough it's very tasty.. I heard from a friend that this place is famous and better to make reservation (especially on weekend).

Really disappointing experience last night. The place was busy but most customers just seemed to be drinking. The staff turned away many customers. We ordered quite quickly and we had high expectations for a good traditional meal. We waited over one hour and saw evidence of other customer's meals being returned which alerted us! However very few people seemed to be eating. Eventually the meals arrived and we realised they were both cold and served on cold plates. Given that most customers were drinking and not eating there was clearly an issue in the kitchen. We had full view of waiting staff heading into the kitchen to help out and a guy we guessed to be the owner/manager regularly coming to the bar. We decided that this was too much. We were willing to pay for the 2 drinks but the manager waver this. How can this place assume the title of the best pub in Prague?

INCREDIBLE! Delicious, warm, homemade food, amazing service and a cozy terrace. The most mouth watering, juicy, delicious cheek I’ve ever had in my life! Great prices and hearty portions. Definitely would recommend!!

5 stars for taste, -4 for service, so 1 star overall. Why is the service -4 stars? 1. It only took us 5 minutes from sitting down to choosing, but it took 20 minutes from calling the waiter until the waiter came over. 2. Then we waited for 40 minutes for the food to be served 3. We have something to eat and need to leave in a hurry, the waiter asked us to wait for 10 minutes 4. When the ticket was given to me and I was about to pay, this stupid waiter snatched the ticket from me. Note that the ticket was snatched away, and then I checked the amount and asked me to pay after entering it into the POS machine. 5. After the invoice was printed out, I was asked to sign it. Before I finished signing, the ticket was taken away from me. Excuse me, are you a whore? Grumbling before the start, and asking me to pay the money and leave immediately after the end?

Wir waren zum Abendessen hier. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht, vor allem von Einheimischen. Das Essen (in meinem Fall Wildschwein) und Trinken (dunkles Bier) war sehr gut. Der Kellner sprach neben Tschechisch und Englisch auch Deutsch. Die Wartezeiten kurz, die Preise sehr fair.

We went there quite randomly as it was close to our hotel. The menu proposes lots of Czech speciality + some other plates. Everything we ordered was excellent and in generous portions, it was quite impossible to finish starter + main plate to be honest. I liked that the waitress was extremely nice and attentive to us, which is not typical for most restaurants we’ve done over the period. I would definitely recommend this place!

I don't think this pub / restaurant is anything special. The food is fine, beer too, but the atmosphere and overall attitude towards customers leaves a lot to be desired - it's really rare to catch the waiters in good mood and there are some things you'd expect to be free in an establishment like that, but are really overpriced. It's okay, but there are definitely much better places around to visit.

Great restaurant! We had the beef goulash with bread dumplings and a pork dish (check the picture - I can't recall the name). Both were very delicious. They are generous with the portions. My favorite was the beef goulash. The sauce was full of flavor! The pork was also tender and delicious. We also ordered beer (as you should when visiting Prague). Service was quite fast and it was not pricy. I definitely recommend this place during your stay in Prague.

Loved it!! Lovely authentic restaurant. Local food. The service was amazing. So friendly and welcoming. We had pork scratchings (amazing belly pork with pickles and a mustard dip). Followed by traditional slow braised beef and dumplings. Plus beef cheeks and mash. Which was amazing !! Highly recommended ♥️

I strongly recommend all tourist to visit this delicious restaurant. Few points: 1. Food portions is large (I means very large) 2. Food very delicious 3. Beer is cheap

While visiting Prague, add this restaurant to your list. Located next to the Saint Ludmila Church, it offers a variety of dishes, local and international. The goat cheese salad is a must 10/10. The traditional roasted beef is delicious.

Had late dinner after 10PM with good Pilsen beer. Beef cheeks and "spanish bird" - beef roll with sausage egg and picke.

Traditional Czech restaurant where you can try some local specialities (duck very nice) in huge portions and with nice beers

We visited Prague end of October 2023 (first time!); arrived late evening, checked in to hotel and googled somewhere close by to eat: the Mlsnej Kocour came up showing local Czech food and was only 10 mins walk..perfect. Didn't book, just went - wasn't very busy so got a table easily enough; the waiter was very polite and helpful - recommended some dishes, so I had the beef with dumplings & bread in cream sauce, my wife had the chicken schnitzel - food was delicious!! Good beer & cider too! Wasn't familiar with pricing at this point, but it did seem very reasonable when we compared later on. Nicely laid out inside and spacious. I would definitely recommend this for somewhere to eat, it got our holiday off to a good start!

One of the best local food you can find in Prague. Food very good and never go wrong. Highly recommended making a recipe before you go.

A cool and lively place to share a warmth evening with family, friends or lover. The prices are fair and the food is delicious and tastes good!! I strongly recommend the pork ribs 😋

Very nice environment but service is poor. Man waitress never smiled and woman got our order - My friend ordered Cheeseburger and got just burger without cheese but with spicy Jalapenos. I ordered baked potatoes with onions and got just baked potatoes, onions were missing. Maybe her English is not perfect but they should be more attentive to the customers.

Nice food - you can choose between classic Czech dishes and some international dishes like burger, pasta or ribs. Service is ok, but waiters were asking for tips. I don’t appreciate that too much.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen hier, Essen war so lala (Kartoffelbrei aus der Tüte, kein Tropfen Soße und ein paar Salatblätter als Beilage, außerdem war das Essen kalt), aber die Bedienung war die absolute Krönung: unfreundlich bis zum geht nicht mehr und total genervt und außerdem wurde uns beim Bezahlen noch ein ungültiger Geldschein untergejubelt...diese Kasch... kann ich absolut nicht weiterempfehlen.

Sehr schönes und angenehmes Restaurant. Lädt ein zum tollen Essen und noch länger sitzen. Sogar zum Mitnehmen werden alle Speisen zubereitet. Hut ab! 👏🏻 Personal sehr höflich und kompetent 👍🏻 Wir kommen gern wieder 💪🏻😉

Had a such a nice time that we had to come back again the very next day! We tried their wild boar dish, ribs & wings platter and of course "Svickova", all was very, very good. Very good Pilsner on tap as well.

One of the best ribs in Prague. It weren’t dry pieces of bones,but whole tender pieces of meat with small bones. Also the price was good. Amazing!

Pork ribs and svichkova were very delicious. Ribs portion was extremely big. Friendly stuff. Very noisy atmosphere that can be disturbing sometimes.

We made an order and then were waiting for long time. Soup was already cold, main dish was not so good quality. And dessert - they forgot bring it even after we remind about it.

Well, first we were happy to find a check restaurant. But the service was not really friendly. And than, food, was a really bad surprise: the peas were really hard, not good cooked, the red cabbage was much too acid, the dumplings where without any taste. The sauce was not this and not that...What a pitty to eat here.

Vert nice and friendly local restaurant and pub in Prague. I had an opportunity to visit it while coming back to the hotel from the incredible show of Iron Maiden!🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻 I did have a very good and positive feeling about this restaurant once I had only stepped in. Had a beer there and the service was very pleasant and friendly, even though it was almost 12.00 PM. And eah, what's also important in those crazy times - pricesfor beer were low, for a Prague restaurant! That is all exactly why I so much loved it. And now strongly recommend it.🇨🇿🍺👍🏻

The food, beer and prices were OK. Note: they bring extra beer without ordering. Everything would have been OK, but they brought the extra beer when we were already at dessert. Icecream and beer??? It doesn't seem normal to me.

The food was good but unfortunately the behaviour of the waiter was totally unsatisfying. He added to our bill something that we haven't ordered and we saw this after we have already paied for it. I think he tries intentionally to fool the clients of the restaurant.

I have tried this place many times (with others choosing it) over the years and am always disappointed. Once again I was there this past weekend at another persons request. My food was not what it said on the menu. Many substitutions were made and in the end I wish they had just told me to choose something else. All in all, just not that great of quality of food. Your beer will be refilled before it is empty but we waited a long time for our food and we were the only people in there.
