Come here for the superb views of Prague and ask for terrace seating. Suitable for solo travelers, couples, families, and groups. We wanted to order the famous green beer brewed by the monks in the monestry next door. Unfortunately, although clearly advertised at Bellavista's entrance, the supply had run out. Our rude waiter said the only other beer was either light or dark. After a little time, the drinks arrived. We noticed people at other tables were experiencing their own service defaults so it wasn't just us. When it came to paying, several attempts were made to catch the waiter's attention and ask for the bill. No card, cash only because the waiter said he didn't have a payment terminal. I accept English is not widely spoken in Prague yet the staff made us feel unwanted and that they had better things to do than their jobs. So different to everywhere we had been up to that point. Disappointed.

We visited here for lunch today after walking past and seeing the excellent view. The prices weren't too bad considering the view, and too be honest the food was worth it. The service was slow and the waiters abrupt, but the duck confit and the burger were excellent. No faults at all with the food or the view. I would have rated this place 4 stars if not for the following events that took place. Whilst we were eating I overheard an Indian family at the table next to us a problem with the bill. They only had Euros, and the waiter short changed them. They brought it up with the waiter and he rudely said it was due to the exchange rate and walked off. When it came to pay we had the same problem. We were surprised that they did not take card (as we had not seen any sign advertising this). My husband told the waiter that he would have to leave to get cash as he didn't have enough money on him. The waiter said that he could 'try the machine inside'. Obviously they are trying to pressure customers into paying with cash to suit their own agenda. Despite this, we tipped 10% even though the service was abysmal as we don't tip at home (Australia) and we didn't want to offend anyone. We also heard the waiters answering a question from an Asian man as to whether they served sandwiches. They made a joke about serving hamburgers and dismissed the customer by turning their backs to him. When the customer kept attempting to talk to them they told him to sit down and they ignored him. Reading the other reviews written here we are ashamed that we gave these people our business. We suspect that if we had not been Caucasian we would have had a worse experience here. Whilst the food and the view were excellent, it cannot make up for such a racist and generally rude and deceitful establishment. I would strongly suggest not coming here.

I have to say I agree with most of the reviews here. The view is fantastic! It is quite pricey and they do not accept credit cards - cash only. Well that was my experience. There was a mix up on our bill and were charged for a drink we never received. The food was very good - but over all service was lacking. Fortunately I dined with a great bunch of people so the downsides were minimal. As others recommend, take your pictures, admire the view and move on. Tons of better restaurants in the area.

I don't understand the negative reviews. Am here with a party of 10 for dinner. Everyone is enjoying their meal (pesto pasta with chicken, salmon with beetroot puree and asparagus, black pasta with sauteed shrimp, ceasar salad were among or selections). Yes, service in the EU. in general is less intensely attentive relative to the U.S. However, it was certainly adequate. I also dined here in 2013 and it was as good as today. And a killer view.

I think the view itself already justifies 3 stars. And if you can get the first row seating that’s another star. We ordered the burger and it’s juicy, the salad is fresh, the chips are hot and fresh, and the food and drinks all came at a reasonable speed, altogether I think it’s well worth a 5-star rating. The waiters are not rude at all as the other says. On the contrary, I found them quite witty. Price is very reasonable too.

Despite the bad reviews, we thought bellavista was excellent. Perhaps the staff were a bit passive and a couple of beers were not available. However the view is stunning, surely the best view of Prague in the evening! We sat down not long before sunset and stayed drinking beer as the night-lights came on. The atmosphere was helped with a little live music too. I'd definitely recommend

Lovely food and beer and an excellent view, the bbq was really nice, and the burger was excellent, I think this is a hidden gem to be honest and genuinely the view is amazing :) I do understand the service was a little weird but that was just one person lol

Everything was just perfect. You've got a beautiful view over Prague and a nice atmosphere in general. I had the HOMEMAD BEEF BURGER and it was the best burger I have ever eaten; and I've eaten a lot. The service is nice and relatively fast. The prices are higher than imagined but justified: for this flavour and service. If you ever plan to visit Prague, you shouldn't miss this......

Beautiful view from Petřín hill. Expensive food. Priced for tourists. A recommended 10% tip is a rip-off for this kind of service. 1. Lethargic waiters. I suggest the wait staff do an internship in Canada or USA and learn how to earn their tip/service fee. 2. Dish presentation was nice and food was tasty but served almost cold at 6:30PM (pork shoulder - krkovička and chicken breasts - kuřecí prsa). At this moment a 0.5 litre beer is cheaper (CZK 59) than 0.25 litre water (CZK 79).

I was surprised at such bad reviews I saw from this place. We had a great experience here, the waiter was generous, the food was great and the view was stunning.

amazing view! nice food! But when I came back with my friends to show the restaurant, it was closed at 10pm even though the google map gives the closing information is 12am. Please check your time! My team was tired of climbing.
