!!WARNING!! This ,,4 star,, hotel is a joke. we never experienced such an unfriendly and rude receptionist, the room we got was not even on the level of a 1 star motel. dirty bathroom had moldy walls and it smelled funky. the sound proof is so horrible u can literally hear every step or move from the people near the room. also in the corridor the backyard door was fling opened which attracted bugs in the night as we came back. There is no elevator so we had to carry our lagguage up to our room using the most disgusting stairs ive ever seen. (full of stains on the carpet) they dont just looked horrible they were even sticky. We went to the reception right after we saw our room to at least cancel the following nights but they didnt even try to reach out to the management department but said he cant do anything and they are probably asleep by now. THIS IS IS JUST A SCAM AND NOT EVEN WORTH ONE STAR.

Older hotel in a good location. Breakfast was very good and included with the price. We liked the selection, a variety of pastries, sliced meats, cereals, scramble, fried, and poached eggs. Several breeds, large fruit section, and a few rotating specials. It gets crowded but the staff keeps everything well stocked and the service hours are great. Rooms don't have AC and a first floor room the window just opens to a parking lot which can feel a little uncomfortable at night. They do provide a fan for the room. The bathroom is great; warm shower, good water pressure and a very large space. Staff was friendly and helpful on check-in. The hotel and rooms were clean and beds were comfy other than it being overly warm. Overall enjoyed the stay here.

Our room did not have too much space to move around. When we opened the window, it took up half the bed. There is no air-conditioning. A fan was in the room, as well as a small fridge and a small safe. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Close to public transport and well priced places to eat. A bit far from the airport but since we left early there was no traffic.

This hotel was a 4 star establishment in 1890. In 2022, it’s 2 stars at best. The housekeeping staff were unbelievably loud (chatter) that we couldn’t sleep in and they didn’t seem to care that they were loud. The doors are old, the carpets are stained; it felt dirty the whole time. They also put us on a floor where they were doing painting works during the day and the chemical fume was overwhelming. We were supposed to stay for 9 days, we stayed for 2. We did not get our money back.

The whole experience was awful. The hotel pictures don’t match at ALL with the room we got. The hotel is old and doesn’t feel clean at all. We had to check out at 11 and we ended up checking out at 11:30 because we felt sick and overslept, the cleaning staff walked into the room without calling or knocking whilst were in bed, then they called the recepcionist since we were 15 minutes late on our check out and she came in as I was getting changed. The first day they also came into the room without knocking whilst we were taking a nap. The staff is rude and doesn’t respect customer privacy. Then they wanted to charge me for checking out 30 min late. Very very rude staff and manager also. Please do not stay here it’s not worth it at all. One small elevator for all the guest you have to wait long time to get elevator.

I bought the triple room for my guests in summer 2022. When I came to the hotel for booking the receptionist showed we 2 rooms on the 4th floor in the hotel, it was good and I payed (100 € per night at that moment). When the guest came the were accomodated in some "new building"... It occurs that a dirty small building in the yard which I always thought was some technical building is also a hotel! Rooms on the ground floor, with a view to the dirty yard and parking and wet smell. (On the photo) I thought my guest will live in a 4* hotel. I was shown the rooms in a main and normal building, but at last guests lived in a strange dark place for the same price as the main building. I assume the hotel should warn that they have 2 completely different types of accomodation, perhaps not for the same price. P.S. The location of the hotel is really good. The service and breakfast were good enough as my guests said.

First of all, it was impossible to sleep or just rest because the walls are probably plasterboard or something like that. Some reviews telling that the noise is because of the bad neighbors, but it's not, you simply hear EVERYTHING no matter how silent they try to be. Starting from the doors - you cant close them with doorknob, you have to shut them. Breakfast: not good, not bad, its okay. Room: our window looked to a backyard, and walls, not nice at all and no natural light. This all would have been okay for a 2 star hotel for half a price, but this is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.

This is an elegant hotel with a historical background located in one of the most popular districts of Prague. The hotel is located a minute's walk from public transportation. Nearby is a square, a park where sakuras bloom in spring, and from there, you can see the famous TV tower. The hotel itself is decorated in a historical princely style, which is very beautiful! The room had everything we needed. Despite our windows facing the street, there was no excessive noise. We were left with very pleasant impressions of both the hotel's design and the room's amenities, and of the service and hospitality at a high level. We are very grateful that the hotel supported us as Ukrainian temporary refugees and hosted us for a few days in the capital of the Czech Republic. It was an opportunity for us to rest and a huge moral support. We are happy to recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again during our next visit to Prague.

If you are only looking somewhere to stay at reasonable price it's OK. Breakfast is Good but no bar and room is basic. It suited our needs because we were always out, but would of been nice to relax for a drink or coffee when we came back. Walking time into centre was about 20 minutes. I would stay again on the basis of price and convenience but no 4 star in my eyes.

Good location close to center and public transport. Rooms are very big. Facility need to be serviced. Everything seems to be falling apart. Our room was close to the street and you can hear lots of rraffic during night

Good place to stay for a few nights, about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Prague. The breakfast was very nice, it had everything you needed. There is a shopping centre not too far. The metro station near the hotel is under refurbishment so cannot be used for the next 6 months but we were happy to walk down to the centre. The only downside is they have students coming and they can be quite noisy at times.

I had the most fantastic experience staying at Taurus Hotel. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The hotel's ambiance was simply breathtaking. The interior design was modern and elegant, creating a soothing and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail was evident throughout the entire property, making it a pleasure to explore and relax. My room was spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. The comfortable bed and luxurious linens ensured a restful night's sleep. The amenities provided were top-notch, and I appreciated the little touches that made my stay feel extra special. The hotel staff was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to cater to my needs and were always available to offer assistance or provide recommendations. Their professionalism and friendliness left a lasting impression on me. We had an issue with noisy neighbors next door to us and Anuar from the reception desk went and immediately sorted the issue with the noisy guests, he even went as far as moving us to a different room the next day to ensure we that we weren't disturbed any further. Can't speak highly enough of Anuars' professionalism and approach. The dining experience at the hotel's restaurant was outstanding. The menu featured a diverse selection of dishes, each prepared with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The breakfast buffet was delightful, offering a wide array of options to suit every palate. The hotel's location was perfect, conveniently situated near major attractions and public transportation. I was able to explore the city easily and return to a comfortable retreat at the end of the day. In summary, my stay at Hotel Taurus was absolutely incredible. I cannot praise the staff, amenities, and overall experience enough. If you're looking for a truly memorable and luxurious stay, I highly recommend this hotel. I can't wait to return! Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5 stars) Thank you for making my stay at Taurus an unforgettable one!

Unfortunately it was the worst than i thought. I just entered the hotel but it was disappointing. I am staying alone, they put me in a tiny attic room with bad ventilation. Smell of cigarette has disgusted me. Last but not least i should be climbing the stairs to reach to my room after using elevator. It is not that near to the metro station at all. Baddest ever! I hope i wont experience any health problems because of the breakfast tomorrow morning.

Good hotel for the price they offer. Breakfast was good, room was clean and tidy and matched the picture from booking. Stuff is very friendly, we managed to buy transport tickets on the reception, and it was really nice. The location is reachable from all points of the sightseeing places of Prague as well as from the train station.

I went there with my family on a trip and the hotel was absolutely fantastic! Clean bedsheets, trust worthy staff and tasty breakfast. There are also many great restaurants nearby. The only downside was the 15 minute walk to the centre of the city, but considering the beautiful historic buildings and architecture a 15 minute walk feels more like a 5 minute one.

  • 5/5 Wim S. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect for a city trip in Prague. Not too far from the real city centre (if you like a good walk). Tram stop(s) nearby. Supermarket nearby. Nice restaurants (cheaper than in the city centre, some very good, especially also price-quality). Mall (with movie theater) 10-15 min. walking distance. Hotel neat and tidy, very good value for money. Friendly personell. Parking in backyard. Breakfast decent. Average age of guests somewhat younger.

The hotel smells so bad the moment you walk in. That goes on in every single area, and especially in the room, where the carpet looks dirty and both it and the walls have stains on. When we were gone, we’d expect our room to be cleaned only to find out that the towels, pillows and sheets have been placed back and not replaced with fresh ones. The smell is so unacceptable, along with the heat in the attic, we were not able to sleep most of the nights. Breakfast is mediocre, definitely not as advertised and breakfast room is so small, placed underground, without any windows.. I mean, is this a 4-star hotel, worth 90 EUR per night? Something to think about..

Good price-quality. Rooms are clean, breakfast and coffee 8/10. Many shops and pubs around, metro and tram. 20 minutes walk to old town.

  • 4/5 B D. 10 months ago on Google
Nice hotel and very nice staff members. Rooms and beds are small. Breakfast is okay. Location is a short Uber ride to old town. Many restaurants and markets nearby.

  • 5/5 Kabbick 3 years ago on Google
The staff at the reception is very welcoming, always ready to help and they could answer all of our questions. You can also purchase the metro tickets there without any extra fees. You can also pay that in euros. The rooms were small, but as described in the website, so no surprises here. There are parking spots at the hotel but you have to reserve them beforehand, which is recommended. The breakfast was alright, nothing special but enough to get the day started.

It is a very nice hotel, the rooms are not that big but the service makes up for it. Especially Anuar helped us a lot with some very good recommendations in Prague. I surely would come back

Really rude staff, they speak to you in Czech even though you don't understand the language. As a vegetarian, they brought me the broth seasoned with meat, even though I had already said that I don't eat meat. When I explained the problem they said that didn't have any meal for me, I paid for a dinner where I didn't eat anything!!!! Also the waitress didn't know any basic word in English, how is that possibile when you work for a hotel in an internetional city like Prague? Furthermore, the food is terrible, I found also a coakroach in my stanza. I'm really disappointed especially because this Is a 4 stars but it Is not worth it at all.

i did not have a completely good experience. The rooms were cleaned regularly but i had to stay in the attic, with no way of opening windows. The staff was really nice tho, even if they didn't exactly speak english they tried their best

OK hotel..good location.. room price below Prague average

I dont know who rated this hotel but it's definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. Staffs were grumpy and condescending the whole time when we were checking in and could not help us with any inquiries we had of our stay. Overrated and pictures are not what it looks like at all. Horrible sound proof, old and cranky doors, one of the door in the corridor are opened to back porch. (highly concerning due to the safety reason) Overall Service, room condition and atmosphere is so not worth the money even though its fairly cheap for a "4star hotel". Highly Recommend to stay somewhere else even if you have to pay more.

Some people complain here about hotel Taurus not being 4 stars... Well, even though I don't know how stars are given, even if they only deserve 3 stars for the hotel, they deserve 6 or 7 stars for breakfast. OMG. I love hotel breakfasts but this was like THE reason to get up in the morning. Seriously, if good breakfast is important to you, stay at Taurus and nowhere else. The receptionists' attitude and cleanliness was excellent too. One of the most comfortable beds I've seen! Nice design too. Excellent value for money. Here are some negatives too which you should keep in mind: - rooms with windows to the street can be pretty loud, prepare yourself with earplugs - the renovation of the hotel was sometimes low budget, like the floor is squeaky and the bathroom door is so small you can hardly fit - it's an old renovated building, the buffet is in the cellar and on a whole it's a labyrinth with a lot of stairs...for me it was fun but it may bother someone

I would never stay at this hotel again. It is definitely NOT 4 stars, maybe 2... - rooms don't look like in the pictures - old stained carpets everywhere - mould in the bathroom by the ceiling fan - dirty walls in the room - paper thin walls (on our second night there was a group of drunk lads next to us and they kept us awake all night and then in the morning as well, we complained 3 times and wanted our room moved, but were told the hotels was fully booked and they can't move us, what a lie!) - unhelpful staff - mediocre continental breakfast The only positives are location (near a metro stop and near the city centre) and the beds were fairly comfortable. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The attic rooms are quite small and smell bad, breakfast was great (fresh and large variety) location is in a big main street that has allot of bars and restaurants (but they are all closing quite early at around 2230/2300) and two tram lines.

  • 3/5 Lena L. 2 years ago on Google
Breakfast was very average. Not sound isolated at all, heard the neighbours moving furniture... you know when you know. Quite outdated and we were surprised that this is a 4 star hotel. We liked the location though as it is ca. 20 min from the centre (walking distance) and good restaurant options nearby

Unfortunately I was not able to stay at the property. I had booked with free cancellation policy via "booking.com", but the deadline for any changes expired 1 day before I tested positive for Covid. I contacted the hotel as soon as I got my positive result, even though I did not have to provide them this information (I'm fully vacinnacted). The hotel did not want to cancel my booking, nor change the dates of my stay, neither providing me a voucher to use in the near future. Long-story-short: I lost a lot of money, for a weekend getaway that never happened. I feel frustrated for having being honest and done the right thing. No wonder so many people lie about their infections and keep moving freely and disseminating the virus.

Very nice and cozy hotel, just 2 metro stations away from the centre. The rooms could use a little bit of renovation, maybe AC as well, but overall a very pleasant experience.

  • 2/5 Pe P. 2 years ago on Google
Listed as 4 star hotel, at max a 2 star hotel. The 2 stars are for the breakfast and the distance to public transport. + breakfast was really nice. Big selection of food; + public transport, metrostation and tramstation close by; + tea and coffee present in the room; + rooms were really big, beds were fine. - had a room at the 5th floor. Looked like the picture but that was obviously taken years ago. For example: walls were filthy, the chair in the room hadn't been vacuumed in years. The wood around the window was rotting. - no elevator to the 5th floor; - shower was either piping hot or freezing cold, there was no inbetween; - rooms were really noisy, you could hear the conversations of the neighbors and other activities very clearly...

The room was clean and big enough for two people. Also, the staffs were all kind and friendly. I'm sure I'll visit this hotel again if I go back to Prague again.

Perfect location. Close to Metro and other transportation. Plenty of amenities nearby as well as a beautiful square to enjoy with the family. Currency exchange with no markup for guests as well. The rooms were well cleaned and the breakfast was very good and plentiful. Even better was the staff. The ladies who prepared breakfast and cleaned the rooms were absolutely amazing and friendly. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in numerous situations, even arranging a doctor to come in when our daughter became sick! All in all an excellent experience. Would highly recommend!

Very small rooms, basic breakfast, not bad, but the price is too high for what you get. More like 2 to 3 stars, definitely not a 4 star hotel.

Older hotel but very clean. Easy check in, friendly staff. Large always cleaned buffet area with great breakfast and many choices. Even Soy milk, fruit, and salads, cereals for vegans. Large rooms, Comfy beds, clean bathrooms, good water pressure. As I said, old style but great value.

On arrival staff couldn't be more helpful. Very disappointed with the overall room very small and needed some work looking tired and smelt musky. Bathroom very nice only a few small issues but ok for what we needed. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Hotel quite noisy in the morning and are room was supposed to be soundproof....... Very close to the public transport without that you are quite far from the main site seeing area's. Rated 4 star but would be a maximum 3 for us.

Its a great place to stay when visiting prague! The staff is very helpfull and super professional, the hotel is very well preserved and cosy, just like the rooms. The beds are very confortable and theres plenty of space to relax. The view is great aswell. The hotel is in a very privileged location as it is very close to many great cafes and restaurants. It is also close to a metro and tram station if you want to.see the rest of the city in confort. You can buy at the reception desk a daily pass for all the public transportation. Otherwise, if you wish to go on foot, you are only 30min away from the old town and many of the citys landmarks. Its is a hotel with a.very complete package: professionalism, confort, and location. Recomended!!

Our room was tiny and have not any view. It was not convenient that there was only one key for two. The room was clean and tidy. The service at the hotel is very good. The breakfasts are delicious and varied. The hotel is located not far from the city center, there are several good restaurants and bars nearby.

  • 4/5 Amrita B. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place to stay for few nights for a couple. The receptionist helped with any questions we had. The room was cleaned on a daily basis and was well lit. Only drawback was that it is non AC room so if you get the street facing room there will be traffic noise as you have to keep the windows open (but this is only in summers). Bathroom-shower was little small but it was neat and clean with all required amenities. There was complimentary breakfast with just enough vegetarian options. Personally, we would have like to have more vegetarian options as we had to eat the same thing everyday :) We could see lot of families with their kids there, so seems family friendly. It is a bit away from the old city center but it is well connected to the metro and tram stations.

The place was nice, the breakfast was worth it (which doesn't happen very often in hotels in Prague) and it was all and all a pleasant experience. The room was smaller than expected, but the bed was comfortable as well as the bathroom.
