Visiting this church was a personal pilgrimage for me to pay my respects to the anti nazis that sacrificed their lives in ridding the world of one of Hitlers henchmen. Entry to the crypt is through the side door which leads to a small museum. An information desk is there. Entry is free into the crypt itself. Once in you find yourself thinking how it was for these men to be trapped here. Bullet holes in the walls, ones feet on the very ground trodden by these heroes.

Amazing story set in this church. Paratroopers were hidden in the crypt of the church as they were targeted by the Nazis because they had assassinated high-ranking official Reinhard Heydrich as the patriots carried out Operation Anthropoid, one of the most significant acts of resistance in Czechoslovak history. Every year since 1945, the cathedral has held a memorial service on the date of the resistance fighters’ deaths. The museum to the soldiers is in the crypt and is free to enter. It tells the story through photos and objects and film. Well worth a visit. Plus it is lovely and cool during the hot summer months.

Anyone who has a respect and desire to know, see, and experience history needs to visit here! Here is where the men who rose up to fight against the evils of WWII met their horrible fate. They were honorable, strong men...the type we need in our world today. It is free and they have done such an excellent job creating the museum beneath the church.

It’s a beautiful church, rebuilt after the violent destruction made by the German troops in WWII! After visiting the church go in the cripta below and see what happened there! It has been very hard to read all the atrocities committed by nazist troops in this church in 1942! Honor to the soldiers who resisted and died for freedom. A place to visit not too far from the dancing building!

This is a must visit place if you really want to know what happened with the heros of the nation. The movie antropoid is based of the real life of these hero’s. The crypts where the final place where they were gunned down. The church is a marvellous architecture. Entry is free to the crypts too.

(Translated by Google) This place is very hard to describe in a few words. The church is very nice, but the catacombs are the most interesting places, which you can visit for free. A place where we can touch the tragic history of the soldiers of the Czechoslovak government in exile who hid from the Gestapo after the attack on Prague executioner Reinchard Heydrich. Their heroic fight until the last round, and then committing suicide in order not to fall into the hands of the Nazis. In front of the entrance to the catacombs, there is an exhibition dedicated to the action Anthropoid. It's best to watch the movie with the same title first, and then see the place where there are bullet marks to this day. Certainly, after seeing you, you will need a little while to recover. (Original) Bardzo ciężko opisać w kilku slowach to niezwykle miejsce.

Amazing Museum to commemorate the Czech parachutists who died in the crypt of the church as part of Operation Anthropoid. A moving and informative exhibition. Beautiful church where much of the fighting took place, now restored but there is also a small memorial area outside where the bullet holes from the fighting remain. This is a free exhibition.

Important WWII place to visit. This church is important to the Anthropoid operation, and this is also where the Anthropoid movie was filmed. Don’t forget to visit the crypt where the paratroopers hid after the assassination.

If you like history (especially WWII history) this is a must visit while in Prague. A memorial for true hero’s of World War II and the assignation of Reinhard Heydrich (the Butcher of Prague). These men are National and Global heroes. Extremely informative museum. It is free to enter. To better understand the complexity and devastation, I recommend watching the movies Conspiracy (Stanley Tucci), Anthropoid, and finally the movie (Lidice). I also recommend visiting the Lidice Memorial outside Prague) and the Wannasee Conference House (Potsdam, Germany).

Maybe it's because we visited when it was dark already and the whole place was candlelit, bringing absolutely magical atmosphere, but the whole visit was truly special. Add the history of the church, and you have a really moving experience. Free entry. Definitely don't miss the memorial underneath.

One can not help but be moved when visiting the Baroque Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius. While only the vestibule was accessible when I visited, the glass partition at the entrance permits visitors to see the beautiful interior. The story of the brave Czechs and Slovaks who took refuge in the church after carrying out Operation Anthropoid, the assassination of the acting Nazi Reichsprotektor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Reinhard Heydrich, and the subsequent atrocities carried out in revenge, is well told.

(Translated by Google) This is a functioning Orthodox church / near Charles Park /. It was originally built (1730-36) as a Roman Catholic church, named after St. Carlo Borromeo - patron saint of the sick. In the neighborhood there was a boarding house for retired priests, but in 1783 it was removed and turned into a barracks and the church was suspended. Later the building became part of the Czech Technical University (1866) .... It has been an Orthodox church since 1935. (Original) Това е действаща православна църква/близо до Карловия парк/. (Translated by Google) The Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and Methodius, which is not so richly decorated, is nevertheless known and frequently visited thanks to the incredible courage of the Czechoslovak paratroopers, who lost their last fight with several hundred times the superiority of the SS. Their courageous act should be commemorated and praised every year so that it is never forgotten. Honor to the memory of all those who took part in the assassination of the deputy imperial protector SS-Obergruppenführer and police general Reinhard Heydrich - the executioner of the Czechoslovak nation. Their act was extremely courageous, as was their last fight in the local crypt. Everyone should visit this place at least once in their life. The courage and honor shown by paratroopers is no longer visible today.

We visited the church as this is the start of the national memorial for the service men that were hidden in the crypt of the church during the war. The church is only open from Tuesday to Sunday 1-4 pm - during the morning they have school children visit. We went Monday and returned at 1 then realised we needed to go back on the Tuesday Well worth the visit - the Crypt is very cold and it gives a sense of how they lived their last days in the dark, being protected by the priests.

If you've seen Operation Anthropoid and ever visit Prague, this is a must see. Beautiful church with a story of absolute heroes and selflessness. Bullet holes still pepper the outside walls. Inside, the church is stunning and has been rebuilt inside. Monuments outside to all of those who were executed following the attempted assassination and death of Reynhard Heidrich.

Watching the movie Anthropoid before visiting this place makes a huge difference. Standing in the church, feeling the crypt underneath my feet. Looking up at the choir stand, imagining the determination and the fear of those parachutists. It feels like time stops and even starts rewinding back to that time. The crypt is now a small and informative museum. That window and stairs are still there. Attentive and friendly staff. A 20 minutes documentary can be played upon request. Not only the admission but also a map for the sites related to the operation in Prague is free. Remarkable efforts to remember and honor the brave men and women who played a significant role in the history.
