Hradčany Square (Czech: Hradčanské náměstí) is a square of several historical palaces. On the south is sitting for example Schwarzenegger Palace which is maintained by the National GALLERY and that is no surprise there is an ART EXHIBITION. The same on the North side of the Hradčany square is sitting Šternberk Palace maintained by the National Gallery of Prague and there is also nice Art Exhibition. On the North is sitting one of the Patios of the Prague Castle which is one of the entry get to the Prague Castle and also entry to visit the famous St. Vitus Cathedral. There is even more Palaces to visit with exhibitions and this Hradčany square can be use such a junction to take various walk around the historical places nearby to visit other historical places (i.e. Cathedrals, Churches, and Events etc.). This Hradčany Square represent a very strong historical and cultural place and that it is up to each visitor which way and how wish to spend his time whilst is on holidays. Any option you take whether to visits cathedrals or churches or take walk around or to visits the Prague castle or art exhibition it cannot be wrong decision, and will be not disappointment by any means. All historical places and cultural events are well managed and open to locals and tourists in bear mind the pandemic rules to follow but still manageable to have a good time. My personal tip is to take walk at earlier morning about 7.00am (or easiest hours) over winter time to explore the atmosphere under the old oil lamps which are mapping the walk from tram stop “Pohořelec” to the Hradčany square, and the oil lamps are quit unique and create even more historical atmosphere of visiting this beautiful place.

Lovely and popular place close to the Prague castle 🏰 especially for a weekend stroll, nowadays it's less crowded but usually swarming with tourists. Beautiful views of the city and a favorite vista point for many. Be prepared for lots of walking up and/or down the castle stairs. Definitely worth it. Also, there are many museums and interior attractions that are paid but gorgeous to look at. Prague is wonderfully varied and offers excellent possibilities for anybody who likes looking at historic places.

Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Hradcany Square Very beautiful !🤗 People here are very friendly, very kind and nice, welcoming and helpful. Official language is czech ~ and if some of them do not speak english or other languages ~ they will find a way to help you if you need any help. In general, prices are acceptable; little higher: you are visiting capital of Czech Republic & expect prices to be somewhat higher than regular places. Prague is very popular destination & many tourists come to see it. Additionally, Prague is the capital that was preserved and saved as it is during WW2. There were no damages or any destruction of the city. Worth visiting ~ definitely recommend! If you like exploring history and learning more ~ Prague is one of the places to come! 👍👍👍👍👍

A long time ago this square was surrounded by small houses of Hradcany residents. Perhaps it would have looked like this until now if a terrible fire had not happened in 1541. Most of the houses then burned down. Wealthy aristocrats began to buy free land and set up their magnificent palaces in Hradcany. Everyone wanted to have a residence close to Prague Castle. The square consists of a number of historical houses and palaces. It is connected to the I. castle courtyard and the western entrance gate to Prague Castle. On the south side there is a terrace with spectacular views of the city.

Wow, it’s stunning. Place is awesome. Streets with the traditional lights are absolutely amazing. Always go there during the sunset. At the corner you can see the whole prague and it’s a nice panorama view. I loved it and will definitely go there again. From here you can walk down to malostranka namesti and the down way streets are also amazing. Best is to go to the top via tram and come down by walk.

Magnificent square! We spent a good bit of time here just taking in the beauty. We also visited the museum here-HIGHLY RECOMMEND. And by the time we finished in the museum there was NO line to get into the castle!

The square is surrounded by palaces of various styles. Lovely architecture to view, if you are into it. Just visit the square, when you visit the 🏰 castle.
