I wish I could give them 0 stars. The staff are the most uncompassionate people I have ever met. Their job is to help people and wow it’s impossible. They will LAUGH at you if you don’t speak fluent Czech. They will degrade you. Apparently it’s not an emergency unless you’re bleeding on the floor so you have to plead your case as to why they should help you like you’re in a courtroom. THEN welcome to hours and hours of waiting whilst they all laugh and walk past slowly just relaxing whilst the women in the waiting room and crying in pain. I left crying on both of my visits. Told me my pain doesn’t exist. I recommend MOTOL if you want compassionate English speaking. TLDR: Worst hospital experience EVER and I hope to never step foot inside again.

This is a great place with many skilled professionals. Can't complain about the staff or level of service. But what's really striking is the quality of the food they serve to patients here. How hard is it to fix this? Given they invest into amazing equipment and staff, can't they invest into normal food so their patients can recover faster and get appropriate nutrition while they're hospitalized... Really looks more like prison food than appropriate food served to pregnant women...

Horrible waiting times, it is really unacceptable. We had to wait hours to get to the doctor, its just a punishment to pregnant women. The hospital management has to seriously look into this issue and find ways to provide a quick service.

2 stars down because the meals they serve are poor (as shown by others in photos), and because in a major EU city like Prague, and in a big hospital most people don’t command basic English. And that wouldn’t be an issue if some of them weren’t near hostile to foreigners who at least try to speak their language.

A very horrible system and waiting time for pregnant. I came at 9:00 for the first check-up and now it’s almost 13:00, but still waiting here. The hospital staff starting from monitor department and finishing with the canteen workers are really rude and unfriendly...

No respect to people’s time at all. They will give you an appointment to a particular time, you come and then you wait for 2-3 hours more.

So, two times had the opportunities to be there, in 2017 and 2022. The food is just horrible. I do not understand how it’s possible to serve what they offer. To me food is one of the keys for a great and quick recovery. If you don’t speak Czech at all you might encounter so difficult moments, especially with nurses. Some of them are rude. I understand that they have a lot of work and they are not obliged to speak English, but a bit of empathy would be welcomed. It was interesting that second time no one asked me if I need help with breastfeeding, instead I was instructed how to give formula. The doctors were ok.

Me and my wife are planning for the delivery here. She got admitted here for 10 days due to some complications. Staff was very helpful, some of them don’t speak English but they ensure they’ll send someone who speak english (this is our experience in private room hospitalisation) I hope our experience will stay good like this till our delivery of baby.

Not that you have tons of choices in Prague for giving birth. This is supposed ot be the best so we went with it. Both my wife and daughter were born here. Our delivery nurse was excellent. The individual rooms are expensive as hell, and you get almost no benefit. The nurses that help you during the 3 day stay are not so friendly and could be better.

Last year, in September, I gave birth to my baby boy in Podoli. I would like to give a BIG thank you to all the staff. They were amazing: they took care of me and my baby day and night. Thanks to them I am able to breastfeed my baby. Language barrier it was not a problem, we used Google translate when there was no English speaker around. I encourage each mother to be to choose Podoli hospital.

I gave birth here two times. This is supposed to be one of the best places to deliver a baby in Czech republic or at least in Prague. Generally, I cant complain about doctors or birth assistants, they were all very professional and nice. However attitude of some nurses was appalling! They were shouting at me, were patronizing and rude to new mothers. Such 2-3 individuals really spoiled the whole experience and hard work of their colleagues. What a shame!

Online registration was easy. It says bring these three documents and go register in person to ensure the spot. When you arrive there, there's no way to understand where to submit documents. I was sent upstairs, then downstairs to "Kartoteka" from where I did not understand where I was sent to.. I just went away. Wouldn't hurt to add more information about which floor, counter registration for birth must be completed.

This is one of the worst hospitals I’ve ever been to. I’ve had to continually come here for 2 miscarriages and it’s not only physically draining with waiting times of up to four hours but also mentally draining. The receptionists, nurses, and staff do not speak a lick of English and don’t even try. A receptionist said something in Czech four times and finally said “passport.” Obviously could have said the first or second time around. There is one receptionist who speaks beginner English who asked me if it was my first time when it had been probably my fifth. Do they not look at records/documents? The receptionists always ask where I have to go but shouldn’t that be their job? You have no clue where you’re supposed to go btw (there are five floors), and no one helps you. There’s no reception in most areas so you can’t really use your phone to Google Translate. The doctors are okay but the last male doctor I saw asked me “Why are you here?” after waiting for four hours. I answered with “That’s what the last doctor told me as you can see in writing in the documents.” He still wasn’t very considerate after all I’ve been through. I leave you with a map that I finally found on my 6th or so visit in a hidden elevator. I am so happy to be done with this place.

Just one star more added for the happy ending. However, the anaesthesiologist, who seemed rather sluggish, didn't arrive for more than five hours, despite several requests for an epidural. We assume it was due to the late hour. Eventually, he concluded that it was too late because the baby would be arriving shortly. However, the next five hours passed, and the baby still hadn't arrived. Bottom line, it was very difficult delivery with whole department inside the theatre. Most unprofessional behaviour of a doctor I have ever seen and believe me I have seen many hospitals around the world. Of course we didn’t support the grey economy here, so we guess if that’s why it happened.

😠 I hope nobody will need to deal with MUDr Barbora Maxova , worst medical experience I have ever had in my life. I had to check my throat in ORL after not being able to eat and breath normal for 4 days, she looked at me and said "You do not look like in emergency situation , what are you doing here?"...

😠 If you are going to have a child, please don't go there. My wife and I had a terrible experience there, more than a maternity hospital, it felt like a horror house.
