The
neighborhood
is
changing
a
lot,
nice
new
buildings,
apartment
buildings,
residences
and
private
individual
buildings
are
growing
here.
I
like
that
it
looks
clean
for
where
the
pond
is
(among
the
development).
You
can
see
a
lot
of
birdlife
on
the
surface,
including
swans...
mostly
sympathetically
tamed
by
feeding
pensioners
and
parents
with
children.
Of
course,
there
is
a
path
around
the
entire
pond,
in
some
places
it
is
only
trodden,
in
others
it
is
very
solidly
paved.
The
outlet,
which
you
can
walk
over,
has
also
been
reconstructed.
But
the
water
does
not
flow
into
the
Libocký
stream,
which
flows
right
next
to
it,
but
is
drawn
through
pipes
to
irrigate
the
gardens
of
Prague
Castle.
For
water
collection,
there
is
a
special
collection
facility
in
the
north-eastern
part
of
the
dam,
from
which
the
water
was
previously
led
by
a
system
of
open
ditches
and
pipes,
but
is
currently
led
underground.
In
1987,
a
total
reconstruction
of
the
pond
took
place,
during
which
it
was
removed
from
the
mud
and
the
dam
was
strengthened
with
semi-vegetation
blocks.
At
the
same
time,
the
bed
of
the
Litovicky
(Šárecký)
stream
was
also
modified,
which
was
straightened
and
runs
along
the
side
of
the
pond,
so
that
the
pond
does
not
become
clogged
with
sediments
from
the
stream.
Desilting
is
repeated
regularly.
Of
the
trees
near
the
pond,
the
memorable
summer
oak
on
the
left
bank
and
the
mature
weeping
willow
near
the
tributary
are
worth
mentioning.
The
widest
and
straightest
part
of
the
pond
is
bordered
by
a
railway
embankment
along
which
several
times
a
day
the
missiles
from
Masaryk
railway
station
pass
towards
Kralupy
nad
Vltavou
and
Kladno.
In
the
future,
this
line
should
also
be
used
for
transport
to
the
airport.
