According
to
the
list
of
ponds
in
Prague,
with
an
area
of
14.14
ha
and
a
volume
of
355,000
m3,
it
is
the
second
largest
pond
in
Prague.
The
pond
used
to
be
part
of
an
extensive
system
of
about
50
ponds,
probably
built
at
the
beginning
of
the
16th
century
and
comparable
perhaps
only
to
ponds
in
South
Bohemia.
There
are
several
memorial
summer
oaks
by
the
dam,
which
is
about
200
meters
long.
The
dilapidated
remains
of
the
building
on
the
left,
southern
bank
of
the
pond
are
the
remains
of
the
waterworks
from
1866,
which
once
supplied
water
to
the
Uhříněve
sugar
factory.
