👍👍 It's small, but this room just charmed me :) You are in the first floor in Hamleys and all of the sudden you are in a tropical jungle... The staff is very friendly, they even offered to keep an eye on our stroller... And the butterflies are very beautiful. They even sit on your head from time to tim... Quite disappointing compared to other butterfly houses. The place is very small and there weren't many butterflies around. You can take some nice pictures though. The number of visitors admitted at the same time didn't seem to be regulated either, so it got very crowded inside, which made the experience even worse. Overall it's a 5 minute experience that can be skipped.

Very nice place in a big toys shop! You can spend lots of time watching butterflies, they will come on your clothes ! Insane place for kids too! Moreover, a very nice lady who zas speaking several languages welcomed us and explained everything :) The price is about 5€/persons but it worth it!

The place is great for young children and it is also rightly placed on the 1st floor of Hamleys that attract most kids visiting the store for some toys! The place has wide variety of butterflies, many of them in a small place so must be careful that you don’t hit or stomp a butterfly. Big butterflies moving so close to you makes the kids happy and triggers them to touch, hence parents need to be over cautious not to cause any damage to the butterflies habitat. Overall a good place to spend some evening time like sitting in a garden full of butterflies and watching them fly around!

Small place but not crowded, there were many species of butterflies! I really recommend this place, that was my first time visiting butterfly house but I adore spending time among nature.

One of the 5 Butterfly houses in Czechia. This one has the Amazon theme and it's equally warm! The ticket costs 7 euros and you can also find pretty souvenirs sold in the entrance. It is located in the first floor if Hamleys. The butterflies are gorgeous but the place is a little small. I was a little sad to see the butterflies locked up to an indoors space but I can understand that these butterflies normally live in the jungle, so they tried to make this place like their home.

Stay away! Im pretty shocked from the price! One small room with few butterflies costs 20 euro for a family with 2 adults + 2 children 2+4 years old. Butterflies are beautiful but the price is absolutely insane for 5 minutes. We went out after a round that took 5 minutes and we wanted to share our frustration with the manager but she refused to talk to us.

This place is amazing! You get to look at butterflies up close for as long as you like, walk around (carefully so you don’t step on them!) and it makes you feel awesome. Sometimes they even land on you! Very reasonably priced and with cute souvenirs.

Cool idea but place is definitely to small according to the price. It's only one room.

It’s surprisingly alright. The butterflies are mostly large and sit freely on people. Kids seem to love it. It’s just one room though, which is not a lot especially for a price of 170 CZK.

It was a good place located inside the toy store. Staff were helpful on entry and provided access to the free lockers on site. Inside, there were lots of butterflies ranging from tiny to HUGE. Make sure you bring your camera! Recommend

Located at the very back of Hamley’s, on the bottom floor, well worth the visit to see how many there are.. Nice open room filled with butterflies, around 27/28 degrees, so very hot inside, can stay as long as you like.. No bathrooms inside but they have lockers to place your stuff in outside free of charge! 🦋

Small and expensive. The butterflies are very sociable, though, and will perch upon you if you are patient and stay still. Note that this is inside an insane toy shop, so be prepared for your child craving to buy things.

Awesome place… Loads of different butterfly’s in a great environment. Unfortunately, there could be better management. The butterflies welfare should always be a priority over profit. When I visited, the butterfly house seemed to be short staffed, and due to the primary demographic of the attraction being (mostly) young children, I did witness a small child stomp and (accidentally) kill a butterfly. (Unfortunately parents cannot be trusted as they are also distracted by the butterflies… who can blame them🦋🙃). I doubt this is an infrequent occurrence. Perhaps, if there was a staff member in the house it would happen less. These are living creatures after all😁🦋 If you like butterflies I definitely recommend visiting.

Located in the 2nd floor of Hameleys, this fun room can give you a really sweet experience. Recommended in winter since it's really hot and humid inside!

+ great location in the city center with easy access via public trabsport + the butterflies are used to people, they often land on you -> easier to take pictures + the room with the butterflies is rather small, but it makes it easier to take pictures of butterflies mid-flight + cheap

One of my favourite experiences in Prague. It was great to see so many varieties within ample space to fly around. Take a seat and remain still to see if they land on you and remember it's rather humid in there.

Beautiful place, a lot of butterflies which are not afraid of people. Kids love it.

Lovely place. You can relax and watch the wonderful creatures. They can sit on the head, hand, back… anywhere. :) But please don't go here with small children. They are a real threat to butterflies.

Brilliant place to see butterflies flying everywhere, posing for pictures. 🦋☺️ It's very hot inside so don't expect to spend more than 30-45 mins. Staff is very friendly. If you buy tickets online, they're a bit cheaper. All in all, definitely worth a visit, especially with kids.

It is small but full of large butterflies that land on you. A bit too many kids running around, but given that it's part of a big kids store, it makes sense. Still very enjoyable, even as an adult :)

Children just pick up or pet the butterflies for photos and release them half-dead or dying on the ground. Parents are watching their children doing whatever they like. Food for the butterflies is placed near the ground catching them is no problem. Nobody pays attention to anything. Enough butterflies are raised in a big glass cube so they can replace the dead ones that are dying every day. Poor creatures. Bloody mankind.

It’s a very nice place but they let too many people to enter at the same time so you can’t really enjoy the butterflies very well as well as take some nice pics is almost impossible as the kids are running around. And what worse - we saw so many kids catching the poor butterflies and unfortunately some died. If they limit the number of people (as you don’t need so much time inside - it’s just one room) it will be much better experience.

Most beautiful place, such amazing energy and the butterflies flying all around and you have a chance to hold them and landing on your head is beyond words.

Not to worry, The butterfly house is inside of a shopping center and it is on first floor of it. Price list you have on Internet, you don’t have to pre-reserve, insides of the garden temperatures and wet in the air are high and we advise you to wear something light colored because then butterflies will come and land on you more often. You should watch where you step and this is perfect place and not only for children but also for families, students, everyone.

Huge disappointment. Most of the butterflies were either lying on the floor or sitting near the ceiling. In both cases, they appeared to be nearly dead or suffering. Definitely not worth it.

One very amazing place. First time in my life i visit something like this. So beautiful Butterfly. You need to be careful, dont step on some of them. Feel in this room is just something special. If you are visiting Prague, this is one MUST GO place. There is big store for toys,so this is perfect place for kids.

Beautiful place, better directions required on google maps. Nice to know about butterflies. It's a bit humid inside but I guess it is supposed to be like that for the butterflies.

The butterflies have enough food however I would like them to be in a more natural space since the environment is pretty artificial

  • 2/5 Erich H. 4 years ago on Google
Save yourself the money to go in there. While I appreciate the existence of the butterfly houses in general this is the worst one that I’ve see. In the world so far. It’s a butterfly dungeon underground, only artificial light, very stuffy and many dead butterflies everywhere. While they need tropical climate I’m not sure how well ventilated it is. Could be mouldy air? The ceiling is relatively low which doesn’t give them space to practise their actual flight. Just sad for the animals really. Someone open a butterfly café on the top of the houses with a glass dome, please.

Not very big, but packed absolutely full of beautiful butterflies. 150 CZK for entry

The butterflies were beautiful. The sad part was the conditions they were living in. Many were just crawling around on the ground and their wings were broken
