Meals are original, seasonal and the taste is unexpectedly balanced and just right. The dishes are just the right amount and quite light so you don’t leave feeling like you’re just about to throw up. We’ll definitely come back for more because our experience there was beyond anything in Prague!

I love the place. The staff are incredibly nice, attentive, professional, give you great menu explanation and recommend the best wine pairing option. The interior itself is very cozy and minimalistic with poppy seeds theme (as I learnt that the name Vallmo means poppy in Swedish). All the menu options are so enticing and I want to go back here again to try all of them. I went for the lamb neck which was super tender with a great portion of buttery sauce and poppy gnocchi. The taste was well balanced and playful with all the little details such as the sheep cheese flavor along with the wild garlic. The poppy seed custard dessert with crunchy cinnamon flakes, the gingerbread dessert and flatwhite coffee were a cherry on a top of this great gourmet experience. The location is great as it is close to the river bank. Worth visiting!

I mean I don’t need to be incredibly full but after have payed close to 50€/pax at least you should leave the restaurant with the feeling that you have tried something extraordinary or more plates than we actually did. At the end it’s just an opinion and I wanted to express that to the waiter when he asked if everything went alright. Very correctly he said that the point it’s to try one starter, one main and one dessert and get full with that. And here’s the point of this review: for example, if you try the croquette, the duck breast and whichever of the desserts you’re far from getting full and you have already paid 40€. Place itself is cozy however I would decorate walls with some nice paintings. Menu was sophisticated, smart, playful and everything looked really delicious. Eventually we went to degustation menu with 3 starters, 2 main dishes and 2 deserts. The way how each portion was arranged and cooked from all of those ingredients brought us explosion of flavors in the mouth. This feeling graduated with each meal till the end. The staff were exceptionally attentive and very friendly, something you can rarely see in Prague. I appreciated the attention to detail, our host explained the menu and all ingredients, even recommended the combination of the dishes and shared the story of the restaurant. Food was one of the best I’ve tried from Czech cuisine, in this restaurant they serve a perfect mix of traditional Czech food influenced by European and Nordic modern presentation. We had the snack bar to start with and as a main we ordered a duck for two persons, which was served with potato gratin, zucchini, farm salad and smoked rhubarb. Each part of the duck was prepared in different ways and served separately. Everything was super delicious and food literally melted in mouth. I would recommend tasting everything and not being afraid of combinations that do not always look good at first glance. Each dish has its own charm and it is truly a gastronomic experience. All in all, this place is the best introduction to modern Czech cuisine for very reasonable price, away from loud and busy tourist spots. You can definitely feel that owners put together all their experience gained in different countries and created an amazing restaurant that has a heart and most importantly Quality. Can’t wait to return to Vallmo to try other dishes.

Great atmosphere, friendly, caring and knowledgeable staff, sparkling clean restaurant. Menu is modern with some traditional components in combination with local produce and attention to detail you'll get an delicious art on the plate. The flavour combination of some dishes was unusual but surprisingly very well paired and played together just marvellously. To start with, the 3 of us ordered a selection of canapés as well as tomatoes with goat cheese custard. Chef's skills were introduced right away. Great selection and balanced flavours. All you would expect from introduction. Main dish was suggested by our friendly waitress. Vallmo Feast. Truth to be told here. The name of the dish does not mislead. A top of that we ordered a fried Oyster mushroom with vegan mayo from their daily offer. What was brought on the table was a pure art playing with flavours and colours. Duck made three ways, again showed chef's and his team skills. Fairly stuffed at this point we decided to share Chef's signature poppy seed custard. Out of this world, thick, not too sweet, well balanced. That sort of finish you need to get after the Feast.
