👍 A wonderful Renaissance-style palace in the middle of the old town in a great location. Its construction began in 1558. Over the years, it has even been part of a mortuary, as well as a workshop and warehouse. Today, there is an irkku pub on the lowest floor of the palace. People often mention palace,

An impressive Renaissance palace with an arcade gallery on the first floor of the courtyard faces the Ungelt area. If you come from the side of the Týn Temple, you will see it behind the entrance gate to the left. The palace was built by Jakub Granovský of Granov. The land was acquired by the decree of Emperor Ferdinand I. in 1558, when the emperor undertook to pay the servant to open and close the Ungelt gate. The building is one of the most beautiful Renaissance palaces in Prague. The paintings on the first and second floor created by the Italian master Francesco Terzio by the evenoscura technique. The paintings depict allegorical characters, and the biblical motifs (Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Lot and his daughters, Abraham sacrificing Isaac, Joseph and Putifarka, Samson and Dalila, David and Betsabé) are captured on the second floor. Pozemek získal dekretem samotného císaře Ferdinanda I. v roce 1558, když se císaři zavázal k povinnosti platit služebníka k otvírání a zavírání bran Ungeltu. Stavba patří k nejkrásnějším renesančním palácům v Praze. Malby v prvním a druhém patře vytvořil technikou chiaroscura italský mistr Francesco Terzio. Malby znázorňují alegorické postavy a ve druhém patře jsou zachyceny biblické motivy (Adam a Eva, Kain a Ábel, Lót a jeho dcery, Abrahám obětující Izáka, Josef a Putifarka, Samson a Dalila, David a Betsabé).

(Translated by Google) The Granovskys Palace is one of the most beautiful Renaissance palaces in Prague, part of the Tyn Palace ensemble. The palace-house was built by the royal customs officer Jacob Granovsky on land that he received for personal use in 1558 by the decree of the ruler Ferdinand I. Jacob, without thinking twice, invested part of his funds in the house and rebuilt the state building into a luxurious palace. No other significant historical events and urban legends are associated with the palace, but this is more than offset by its luxurious appearance and rich decor. A distinctive feature of the Granovsky Palace is an elegant gallery-loggia located along the perimeter of the entire 2-storey building. The walls of the gallery are decorated with paintings with biblical and mythological scenes. Inside the house there are paintings by the Italian painter Francesco Terzio, made in the original technique of chiaroscuro.

(Translated by Google) To find a quiet place with sculptures in the center of the old town, I would not have thought it possible in this crowded city. A customs office, where all goods were cleared through the middle of the 16th century, became invalid (for money). Here you will find the Renaissance Granovsky Palace with arcades.

(Translated by Google) The Tin court (from the word "TIN" or fence) was called a fenced merchant yard built on the Old Town in the X century. The yard was a real fortress. In addition to the stone wall, he was surrounded by a deep moat. Inside the walls was a whole village with courtyards, stables, warehouses, a hospital and a church.
