I think this is the most beautiful church in Prague. I attended Sunday mass here and they had a beautiful Oregon playing which enhanced the experience. The frescoes and statues that are doing this church or not to be missed also there is a little side chapel in the back which is a very peaceful place for prayer.

Wonderfully ornate and impressive baroque church in Old Town Prague within easy walking distance of Old Town Square. This church is free to visit but it does close during the day from 12 noon to 2 PM so avoid these times.

Beautiful church in rococo style, you can theoretically get inside from 10 am but we were there at 10:15 and couldn’t get inside. We could see the beautiful interior of the church through glass though.

the church of St. Jacob the Great is a beautiful place in the old town of Prague near the Old Town Square, where you can go for a concert, a church service or just for a tour. It belongs to the magical places that add to the atmosphere of Old Prague.

An impressive Baroque church near the Old Town Square of Prague This is a large Baroque church with some detailed high-relief sculptures above the outer doorways. The interior is spacious and decorated in the Baroque style, with the ceilings in particular showing beautifully. It is closed between 1200-1400, so best visited in the morning or afternoon outside of those times.

This massive three-aisled basilica with a long, high chancel is the third longest church building in Prague. The church was founded in 1232, and was rebuilt in Baroque style in the 18th century. The choir is home to an organ dated back to 1705. The Basilica of St James is currently also the venue for organ concerts. The famous St James’ organ has 4 manuals, 91 speaking stops and 8,277 pipes.

The church was built in the 13th century for the Franciscans. It was built in the Gothic architecture style. The foundation of the original church was related to the acquisition of the relics of Ottokar I of Bohemia. The exact location of this original church and its appearance are not known, since the church was destroyed in a fire in 1689. The fire is believed to have been started by people working for Louis XIV of France.

Gorgeous church! Lots of small details and many images, statues, and paintings crammed into a small space. There is a severed hand from the 18th century hanging at the back of church (near the public entrance). During a summer day in Prague, this is a great place to cool down with the air inside being colder. Seating is very limited.

Lovely and extremely ornate basilica. Free to the public and they ask for donations only. We went about an hour before close on a Sunday and it was so quiet.... peaceful and truly lovely. I recommend visiting the St Agnes Abby which is extremely humble and full of art before coming here...

(Translated by Google) Beautiful church, royal foundations, originally Gothic, later Baroque. The longest church in Prague before the completion of the Cathedral of St. Today, Vita is known from the largest organ in the Czech Republic and what is behind it, from music that attracts connoisseurs not only from Prague and its surroundings, but from all over the world. In addition to the love of Gothic piety, the visitor can find works by the most important Baroque artists such as Brokoff or Brandl. This gem of art is taken care of by the minority brothers, who came here from Italy in the early 1930s. The royal wedding of John of Luxembourg to Eliška took place in the monastery adjoining the church. Praguers came to the church for the last farewell to Emperor Charles IV. Namely, his body was exhibited here for this purpose during an imperial funeral.

We are awed by the expansive and impressive sculptures, drawings and frescos in the church. The guide then pointed us to the withered mummified hand hanging at the top of the church entrance. Legend said that the hands came from the thief who had stolen from the church.
