TREATMENT
OF
SON
UNDER
FULL
ANESTHESIA
Our
5-year-old
son
was
an
untreatable
patient
elsewhere,
but
he
needed
8
teeth
fixed
(4
interdental
cavities).
After
2
visits
to
other
dentists
we
were
referred
here.
From
the
beginning,
the
approach
was
excellent,
everyone
was
very
pleasant,
to
us
and
to
our
otherwise
golden,
but
uncooperative
child
at
the
dentist.
In
the
end,
the
son
had
to
be
treated
under
full
anesthesia,
which
took
2.5
hours
and
was
very
stressful
for
us
(intrusive
thoughts
like
"what
if
he
doesn't
wake
up").
However,
the
whole
staff
helped
us
to
go
through
the
whole
situation
as
easily
as
possible,
both
the
attending
dentist
and
the
anesthesiologist
who
was
in
charge
of
his
consciousness/unconsciousness
and
vital
signs
during
the
operation.
The
operation
involved
a
preliminary
consultation
about
treatment
under
anesthesia
and
subsequently
we
are
still
committed
to
4
dental
hygiene
appointments
in
the
following
12
months
to
ensure
that
the
need
for
similar
treatment
will
not
be
repeated.
All
in
all,
it
worked
out
for
us
like
our
entire
vacation
(so
I
probably
won't
go
anywhere
in
2024),
but
what's
more
important
than
health.
These
teethers
are
supposed
to
last
my
son
until
he
is
12
years
old,
and
if
it
was
for
the
insurance
company,
they
would
just
fall
out.
And
even
if
the
son
cooperated,
their
normal
treatment
(drilling
+
composite
filling)
would
also
lead
to
their
destruction,
due
to
the
proximity
of
the
caries
to
the
nerve
/
pulp,
they
had
to
do
some
kind
of
"pulpotomy"
and
it
was,
as
far
as
we
know,
the
only
chance
for
the
son's
teeth
save.
And
we
are
grateful
for
her,
thanks
!!!
The
photo
is
from
the
recovery
room
after
the
procedure,
where
my
son
spent
another
1.5
hours
recovering
from
anesthesia
and
where
they
regularly
checked
him/us
and
informed
us
about
the
necessary
next
steps
before
we
were
safely
released.
Great
approach!
