First of all i would like to mention that i am a student of the second faculty of medicine, which means that this is my teaching hospital. I went to get my medical documents checked for my course from our faculties study hospital for OUR study department. The doctors racially motivated microaggressions were extremely visible. She told me that i needed to bring my paper to her in "a language that she could read" even though the paper was translated to english and that was perfectly fine. She also shamed me for not coming earlier even though I was within the timeframe given to me by the university. This is just an example of how inconsiderate doctors can be, notwithstanding being a future doctor myself. After witnessing such instances (multiple occasions like this in nemocnice motol towards foreigners), I can confidently say that in my future endeavours as a physician that I will not let others suffer any racial prejudices or any shame for their sufficiently translated foreign language.

Crazy Nurse. Very arrogant and Rude. I'm a doctor myself and I was really shocked by the level of the hospital in Prague. If any doctor or nurse behaved like that in South Korea, they would be arrested. The worst... Never going again. Please get your surgery in South Korea if you life is at stake.

The doctor pediatrician was good (*****) however the rest of the staff was the worst - uninterested, rude and aggressive (*), and I got a very unpleasant feeling it was because we are foreigners. It might be because of the extra trouble - but then I got the cold treatment although I speak Czech fluently and we come from a European country (so really, there should be no extra complication paperwork wise). Even the pharmacist was rude - to be precise, he already started off rude, but then it got increasingly worse as I had a question about foreigner insurance refunding. It turned out I didn't notice I had all of the prescriptions on 2 different pieces of paper, which created the initial confusion. He started lecturing me about it angrily, at which point I said I'm sorry about the confusion but I am really not familiar with all these papers in my hand and to please be a bit more kind. He then started yelling at me. Then muttered out something of an explanation, but eventually insinuated it was all my fault - to the others waiting in line. I think the doctors must be great, it is the state hospital after all. And I am grateful for the actual treatment, both the doctor and nurse were professional and treated us as normal people. That is the important thing. However good luck to you if you are a foreigner. One does not choose to go to the hospital just to have fun, and needing assistance while abroad is rather unpleasant - so being accepted with a "what do you want then?" attitude unfortunately leaves a significantly bitter aftertaste.

I had a big problem with breathing, which happened against the background of a prolonged runny nose. Yesterday on the plane I had severe pain in my nose and ears. Today we came to this hospital, a young doctor came out on the 1st floor from room 1, asked what was the problem. I asked if she speaks English or Russian aldo. She answered very rudely that she already speaks English with us. Then she heard that a runny nose started a month ago and asked why we came today, we said that there was an attack at night, I didn’t breathe at all, I felt very bad on the plane yesterday, we would like help, to which she was rude again, that we came. We said that if she does not want to help, then she can just say that and we will leave, she nodded and we left. We are very unexpectedly upset by the quality, rudeness and the unwillingness of the doctor to help a person whose life is in danger as the person cannot breath.

Terrible service. Bad people. They play at being an international hospital but cannot speak English. The Foreign Reception is filled with morons. Avoid this place like the plague (because if you go there, you'll likely GET the plague).

I’m foreigner. Had to visit due to skin problems. First had to spend half day to see doctor. Than I was told next appointment was assigned on Tuesday, when arrived on Tuesday I was told no appointment was set for me. They saw it only in some notes but it wasn’t in the system. Visited today again and I was told they can assign me in 10 days. So now skin is getting much worse and I have to find another doctor.

Absolutely horrible place and horrible rude staff! Had to go to A&E at 2am, staff shouting at me for waking them up! Didn't even want to order me a taxi to go back to my hotel after and it was 4am. I hope I don't have to ever go back there. FYI the foreigners department is open 7am-7pm. If you need to go out of hours then you have to go to A&E like I did and they will email you the invoice the next day.

I had to visit this hospital because I had a minor infection. I was worried after looking at the reviews, because I don't speak Czech, and there are a lot of negative reviews from people who had a bad experience due to not speaking Czech. However, my visit was 5/5. Everybody who I spoke to spoke good English, everybody was very pleasant and I'd even say they all went above and beyond. I couldn't find the foreigners department, I asked for help from a nurse, she gave me detailed instructions based on which I was able to find the department. It wasn't close by, she gave me like 8 step instructions, but she gave me clear instructions. It was very helpful because it's a big complex. The lady at the foreigners department explained everything to me and she even wrote down the Czech translation for my condition, in case the doctor doesn't speak English. The nurse at the check in again explained clearly all the next steps, and the doctor was pleasant and he gave me the necessary medication with the necessary instructions. I waited in total maybe 15 minutes, or less. Tip: the foreigners department is right out of the metro exit. We came by car and we parked on the totally wrong part, we were on a wrong side of the complex, and because of that it took us a long time to find the department.

As foreigner always take a Czech SIM card with you, they will request to contact your medical insurance company for a confirmation letter or/and guaranteed letter by yourself, at least once. Do NOT ever pay in advance, because, they may send the bill again to your home country, even though, after sending the proof of payment by email, personally I got it, but the response was "sorry something wrong".The double payment is a very common trick in Eastern Europe when your presence is away as tourist.

The emergency doctor here was not at all interested in patient history. She was abrupt and her approach did not give me confidence in this hospital or her capabilities. David, the head paramedic helped more than any doctor or nurse at Motol. I am Czech but I am writing this review in English so foreigners can read it. The Czechs still have a lot to learn when it comes to medicine. They are way behind the curve. Absolutely disappointed. Zero stars.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in the hospital emergency… I didn’t know if my pain was caused by the appendix or kidney. Just wanted a quick help and pills to calm down the extreme pain… I was told to wait approximately 5 hours or go to my normal doctor. Not kind service at all…

Maybe this is czech standard but I was totally not amused. Hospital let you wait very long with pain. After 4h receipt for medicin. Had to ask 4 times that they give me something for my pain. Missing medicin which should be obligatory like it is in other hospitals (even in brasil). Cant recommend but who can choose in case of emergency...

terrible service, careless doctors. we had an emergency and waited for 4 hours (!) in extreme pain to get urgent help from the neurologist. doctors don't seem to want to examine people from Ukraine because even the Czech people who waited for 30 minutes only got help first. in the end i had to leave to find someone else to help me. don't waste your time, find someone who cares.

over 4 hrs of waiting. Impolite staff with a "leave me alone attitude" from receptionist to doctors. Cocky and inappropriate comments from doctors and no interest in patients. Don't go to this hospital unless you have no other choice. horrible is an understatement... even saw the ambulance guy not paying attention to the stretcher and hitting the chairs with it... while the patient was ON the stretcher. Hideous service, horrible attitude.

They are very rude, called them for an appointment and I asked do you speak english, she said no. I asked more, do you have anyone that can speak english, she hung up the phone. Please do not recommend your hospital as a hospital for foreigners if your staff can not speak english and so rude to foreigners. Full of disappointment

Went on 26.12, walked into the foreigner’s dept and was helped immediately. Followed their instructions to get to the doctor’s office. After a wait about 1.5h I was seen by a very nice doctor. She spoke English well and did several checks on me, and ran a test. I was asked to wait and then handed a prescription and a medical report within 10 mins. Overall I felt it was a great experience and was worth the wait! I got meds and feel much better!

Sent my partner and myself away because her being unable to breathe wasn’t enough of an emergency, and they didn’t have anyone else on staff to help aside from the emergency team (even though there was no one else there). They told us we had to either pay €200 or leave, even though we were basically just looking for someone to write us a simple antibiotics prescription. We ended up leaving the country to go home and find a doctor there instead, as the flights back were about the same.

If you go to the reception desk for foreigners and enter the building where there're specialists, then you have to find a nurse and talk to them at first. maybe they're managing patients there? If you don't give them your insurance card and passport, nothing will happen. I had to wait for 3 or 4 hours due to this mistake. Hospital itself was okay,it's a modern and western hospital. There might be no problem with the quality of medical care.

I had to go to the hospital and reading all these reviews made me really nervous. I'm glad to say that I had a really positive experience. I went to the foreign office and an english speaking receptionist guided me through, she was really nice and offered her help to fill the forms. Than she referred me to a specialist. only 20 min wait and got to a very nice doctor that spoke perfect English and was very patient, I really felt she didn't rush anything and wanted to understand the problem. Further examinations took some time but it's a hospital so not much to do about it. I spent there a few hours, everyone I encountered were kind which is really want you want when you don't feel well. If I'll need it, I will come back!

Saw 6 people with my rib pain, everyone was saying it’s not area of their responsibility. A kind receptionist lady told me to see a surgeon but there were no surgeons at all who would accept me. Spent 2 hours running around in pain and trying to find anyone willing to help me. Finally had to go to an urgent care but after seeing the number of people waiting and a tabloid saying “expect to wait here for a least an hour” I just went home. The worst thing is the logistics in the hospital, it’s just a maze.

Better than other hospitals in Prague, lots of highly qualified specialists that get stuff done: they make you healthy. That's all: food is ok, space is ok: it's not a hotel ffs. The only thing they should really work on is parking. There is simply not enough parking space.

I’ve been going here for four years. Never an issue. Always an issue at any other single hospital in this country. Always motol has nice doctors and ALSO nurses. The receptionists and nurses don’t yell at you, mock you or role their eyes like at other hospitals. I’ve never waited more than two hours in Emergency. There are signs for foreigners and a foreign registers desk. The pharmacy is 24 hours and they speak English. Right off the a line metro.

I went straight to the foreigner's office and they directed me to the emergency room. I asked if the ER reception would speak English and was told "they should". Lovely. I appreciated their optimism :) Went down to the ER 'reception' and was met with the stereotypical unfriendly face that some may have experienced at Czech pubs. Neither of the two ladies there said they spoke English. And they were not interested in my Google Translate app. Once I typed in my need and it was translated, they took my ID and insurance card. The doctor I met with spoke English well and was very nice. The people who ran the xray machine and the CT scan did not speak English though. It wasn't the best experience (having to go to an ER never is) but it wasn't as bad as others have unfortunately faced.

14-year long journey with Motol University Hospital (10/01/06 - 10/01/20) We visited this hospital hundred times with my cousin (went through very complicated heart surgery) at the age of 5, further with my brother at the age of 3, later with my elder son at the age of 4, and now with my younger son at the age of 5. We always found very professional, kind and caring doctors and staff. THANKS FN MOTOL THANKS CZECH REPUBLIC :)

As English only speaker with czech insurance, I called for appointment and they told me the only way to visit neurologist is in the emergency. I went to the hospital in foreigners department at 08:30 in the morning to ask question and they forwarded me to the emergency area, the lady knew basic words for the registration it took 1min, after 10min waiting the nurse in a polite way explained that I have to visit my hospital near my area and not here because it is just an emergency and the hospital does not accept patients for regular checkups from other Prague region. At least I wasted only 15min in hospital + 1h go and back, so I put 2 starts that got my message quickly, there were only 3 people waiting in the emergency, maybe I was lucky and they informed me quickly.

This is happened to be found and children motol hospital. Im from asia. I have an injured ankle. Terrible service and one of the doctor was rude and didnt let me finish my sentence. Im waiting already almost 3 hours and i thought this is going after numbers, but the doctor are chosing the patients. One of them even told me to wait a bit and then went on picking up other patients. Im not sure if this is racism or not. Im number 411 and a guy before me with number 410 already left hours ago.

I can only evaluate the 'Clinic of Pediatric and Adult Orthopedics and Traumatology, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and Motol University Hospital.' However, I must provide this review, and I hope it will be read by the department and that improvements will be made. The behavior of the nurses is extremely inappropriate, arrogant, and sometimes vulgar. They look at everyone as if they were the stupidest person, instead of considering whether their processes and explanations on the walls are understandable. Some instructions/explanations on the walls are valid, while others are not, and then they wonder why people are confused. Shouting at waiting patients seems normal to them, and a waiting time of 2 hours, even when you have an appointment, is supposedly normal too. I felt sorry for the elderly patients who have to endure such treatment, and I hope that improvements will be made in the nurses' attitude and the processes they use. I have bid farewell to this department, and I hope I will never be forced to return. Furthermore, blocking the mobile signal in this department seems inappropriate to me. Forcing people to buy access to their Wi-Fi is very limiting, especially when this option is not clearly presented as one of their rules, which doesn't apply. This is not a solution for the 21st century.
