The Orlík Reservoir is part of the Vltava Cascade in southern and central Bohemia. It was built in the years 1954–1961 and dammed the flow of the Vltava River near Solenice in the Příbram region. It is named after the Orlík castle, which was once built on a rock and where it then stood on a rock above the deep valley of the Vltava and today is located just a few meters above the water. The Orlík Reservoir offers a large number of water activities, boat trips, steamboats and small boats. It is also interesting that you can visit the castle Orlík and the castle Zvikov by water.

Nice tour that will inform you about the most interesting technical data of the dam. The tour guide was very friendly. The only problem is the reservation tho. That guy was very unfriendly and rude.

Best thing about Orlik dam is that it is free, huge and you can get beer there, also there is a beach near by in the camp where one can go swimming ☝️

The Orlík Reservoir (Czech: Vodní nádrž Orlík) is the largest hydroelectric dam in the Czech Republic. It dams the Vltava River near the village of Solenice, which is near the town of Příbram. The structure is named after Orlík Castle, which is situated a few kilometers above the dam. The dam has four turbines with a nominal capacity of 91 MW each[1] having a total capacity of 364 MW.
