(Translated by Google) Impressive sculpture in bronze pûv. from the 14th century. Too bad the author is unknown, we know only the contractor. From the time of Masaryk (now newly cast) stands on the monumental pedestal of the long J. Plečnik. It's my revered art object.

The bronze statue of st. George, who kills the dragon, is an important monument of Gothic ironwork from the 14th century. It is the first known statue in Czech that adorned the open space, ie it was not tied to the specific building. The author is unknown, the work dates back to 1373 and is connected with the building of the castle water main. Previously, it was thought that it was the work of Jiří and Martin of Kluž, but the authorship of the Parléř building and sculptural metallurgical works is also not excluded. After the Castle's fire in 1541, the statue was repaired. It used to stand in a different place, perhaps at the top of Baroque fountain in front of the Church of St. Vitus. Architect Josip Plečnik placed it on a high pillar with a shallow tank. Since 1967, only a copy of a statue is placed here, the original is in the collections of the National Gallery.

(Translated by Google) The dragon hunter, St. George. He is a hyung you see often when traveling in Europe. It looks like a very realistic statue.

(Translated by Google) The statue of St. George, located in the third courtyard of the castle, is an equestrian sculpture of the saint slaying the dragon. The original was built in 1373, but was damaged in the fire of 1541 and had to be recast. Mutilated again a few years later by men who climbed up to watch a tournament of knights. The current one is a bronze copy from the 1970s, while the original is kept inside the monastery.

A bronze statue of St George, killing the dragon, is located on the III. Courtyard of the Prague Castle. It is an important monument of gothic metal-founding from the 14th century. It is the first known Czech sculpture located in the open space, therefore not to be bound to the building.
