This is my favorite park in Overland Park to go walking. It is normally quiet and picturesque every time I go. Also great scenery.

Very nice park! Perfect for walks, exploring wildlife, playing at the playground, going out on a date, having a picnic, exercising, and photography! Clean, well maintained, the geese are almost always around and they provide entertainment to those around them. This park is one that you would most likely visit more than once because of how nice it is!

I enjoy coming to this park as it is close to our home. It has a lake and a nice trail that goes around it. The playground is decent size and offers different activities.

South Lake Park is such a lovely reprieve from the urban sprawl. The playgrounds are modern, fishing is plentiful, facilities are well maintained and the area is beautiful. Ideal for walking the dog, wearing out the kids or just taking a moment to relax and appreciate nature.

This is a very nice little park with most of it taken up with a lake. The parking lot is not very big but there was plenty of parking available when we were there including handicap parking. From the parking lot there is a walking path that circles the lake with a few exercise stations along the way. A very nice playground is located on the north side built on astroturf so no muddy shoes when when leaving. One nice surprise was all the geese that were there on this cold January day.

This is a great little park. We take our kids to ride their bikes around the walk path and then they take a break at the newly updated playground. There is also fishing available at the lake as well. I personally haven't had any luck, but I'm sure others have better luck.

Overall the place is nice. There is a very beautiful small lake, playground, tables, benches, restrooms and very decent Trail for walking or running. The 5 stars is for the place itself, but it needs some attention like cleaning and maintenance. Parking is available too.

How was it? It was hot. At least there was some shade at noon. Unlike the previous park we attempted. The geese were well behaved. I'd go back, but not at midday.

Nice waking path around the lake. Playground is fairly new, with soft astroturf, but not the most fun playground around for the kids. There's always people fishing.

Super fun park for little ones. Has an awesome zipline and 2 big metal slides. I would recommend bringing a blanket or towel to go down the slides for speed.

Its pretty big and beautiful. Tucked in a residential area that's very nice. The Fishing is really great and they have a really nice playground along with exercise equipment along the walking trail. Parents, glance around and throw away anything that might have been left behind by inconsiderate visitors but it really is clean and beautiful place to relax. Highly recommend.

We love coming here with our pup to help socialize her with others. People mostly keep their dogs on leash and the upkeep of the park is pretty good as well. We enjoy seeing all the wildlife: geese, ducks, turtles, and a majestic heron!

Smaller playground, but well kept. Love the walking loop around the lake with plenty of benches, fishing piers and areas to stop and watch the wildlife. Several picnic areas available and bathrooms are easily accessible.

Loveliest park we have visited midday-so much wildlife and just an awesome spot for local flora & fauna, walking, fishing, playing and chillin' as one bench would ask of you here. We loved it! The playground is only temporarily closed for a restoration/upgrade of a feature as of the day of posting this. It is so well maintained by the friendly, attentive OP Parks & Rec crew, they were actually here 3 times over the course of just our 1.5hr long visit! Can't wait to come back, still had a blast in the rain and sand playground. Ps. "Playground is going to be open again here in about a week" -nicest parks & rec crew member ever says. Enjoy yourselves yall!

The playground here is very nice! The walking trail is also worth the trip. The lake/pond is pretty disgusting. The city should clean it.

This little park holds sentimental value in my heart. A small park established around a charming little pond that's always been stuffed to the gills with fish... haha! Duh dum, chhh! I would assume it still has a very nice paved walking path around the entire pond. It sports at least one full basketball court, maybe two, I can't recall. I do remember it being a very nice court. Two small parking lots and a decent play area. Sometimes, its size can make it seem overcrowded. All in all, it's a good little neighborhood park. Enjoy!

Quite a nice place for its size. A decent small lake (really big pond?) with wildfowl. Several small shelters which allow a safe-distanced sit down, and good sized pathways. One thing, somebody thinks it's easier to drop trash, than taking the few strides to the receptacles.

Here at noon on a sunny hot July day, but with a great breeze in the shade of a picnic shelter, it felt perfect. Not hot at all.

Park is well-maintained. Pretty extensive playground for kids. Basketball court...and the rims are NOT missing. There ARE fish in the lake. Nice track to walk on. The park is popular with geese so you have to walk carefully through their droppings.

Great place to walk the trail, fish, play on the playground, play basketball, or even have a picnic. Dog friendly too.

I've always loved coming here, never caught any big bass but I enjoy catching the little ones too. Always on a roostertail

Nice short walk around the pond, but the pond seems to be full of trash including a picnic table and lots or bags. Plenty of small bluegills to be caught, but watch out for the angry Canadian cobra chickens (geese) in the spring time.

This is a great location surrounded by water to get some daily laps in. There are no hills to speak of but the atmosphere of the water and wildlife are sure to please the mom’s with strollers or power walkers looking for time on the paths

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Was it costly? Yes, but a specialized building, fans, amazing staff I bet isn't cheap! Was it worth it? Definitely! My girlfriend and I got β€œfour flights” and I wouldn't recommend anything less. You are already there, enjoy some extra time. We both got the β€œfly high” addon, and it's a good addition...
