On 2/5/2022 I had to do the hardest thing of my life and put my cat Smokey to peace after 16 years of a wonderful life. I adopted him from a shelter over 12 years ago. He was a very loved little guy. Blue Springs Animal Hospital staff was so compassionate and caring, especially the doctor that helped us explaining to us the process and giving us options that we were comfortable with. She understood the love I have for my four-legged best friend and let me hold him as he quietly and peacefully passed into a better place. I cannot thank you enough for the humane way you treated my Smokey. And I highly recommend this hospital for veterinary care, as we take our other companions there as well for routine care. Thank you for the wonderful care you have given and continue to give to our four-legged family members.

Dr. Rodier saved my dogs knee! I’m forever grateful and will always refer this Dr and hospital to anyone I can. Not only do they have the skill, but the staff were extremely friendly and informative. The Dr answered all my questions with knowledge and compassion. This place cares… simple as that.

Everything you could possibly want in a professional setting for your pet's medical care plus some! Staff is kind, caring and thoughtful. Frontdesk has caribeaners attached for leads/ leashes. The setup of the facility is impressive and keeps in consideration safety of your pet! Are there less expensive vets in area? Yes, however, you get what you pay for! As a pet parent, hands down, the nominal additional expenses here are worth it. The vet TANK and I visited with was uber knowledgeable, fun, and definitely not stiff or caustic in his 'bedside' manner. Parking is all the way past the house looking business.. Just go straight forward.

Our pets are always treated quite well. Friendly knowledgeable staff with fair prices. The is an operation that truly loves animals and takes care of our friends. Update: had to take out Battle Cat in today to get his foot looked at. He did not love the trip, but in the real world he is fine. Dr. Katie Dear is the best!!!

Recently relocated to Blue Sorings. My neighbor suggested Blue Sorings Animal Hospital for our Riley. So glad she did. Been to many vets over the years with our fur babies. This is the most outstanding service we have experienced. The vet was great with our pet. Very personable and gentle with our pet. Look forward to each and every visit in the future.

We are blessed to have Dr Bradley as our fur baby’s Dr. She actually talks to her and has a connection like no other Dr we have ever had. If your considering going there definitely ask for Dr Bradley! Jasmine loves her!!

Our first visit to BSAH was to get a sedative prescription for our rescue dog Julee. Julee is very reactive and we had been told that she didn't like going to the vet. So, I was very nervous that she might be aggressive with them. But, the vet Dr. Bradley was so good with Julee. When she came in, instead of approaching Julee, she sat down next to me. She said, "We're just going to talk like old friends." As we talked, Julee approached her for pets, and really liked her! To my pleasant surprise, Dr. Bradley did Julee's entire exam while sitting next to me! It was a great experience all around. And I'm relieved to have a vet to take Julee to where they will meet her where she is, so she can have a good experience!

I recently took my sweet baby Dexter to a vet in Oak Grove for a chronic cough he had recently came down with. I've always taking my dogs there since I moved to Grain Valley. The care always seemed to be satisfactory. After a chest x-ray, it revealed my Dexter had lung cancer. I was devastated by the news of course. I asked the vet if there was anything we could do? He told me no! Told me he probably had 2-6 months, and sent me on my way. I left there shattered. I decided I wanted a 2nd opinion. I decided to take him to Blue Springs Animal Hospital. Dexter and I had the shear pleasure of meeting Dr.Deere! Yes, she confirmed that Dexter was very sick and probably only have months to live, but with compassion not only for Dexter but for me as well. It was like night and day between the two vets. Dr.Deere put Dexter on two medications to help with his symptoms. She told me to call her if I needed anything. I was so impressed by empathy. I have had dogs all my life, but I've never had a veterinarian as wonderful as Dr.Deere. I will be taking my Dexter to her when it is his time and I will never use any other veterinarian but the Dear Dr.Deere! Sincerely, Christie and Dexter

I can’t give enough praise for this place! The vets & vet techs are exceptionally patient & smart. The desk staff are kind & quickly responsive. My husband & I used to go to a vet down the block. Now we drive 1.5hrs just to take our pets here, & have zero regrets about the travel. The quality & care is that outstanding.

Lifesavers! My family's pets have been coming here since I was a kid, now as an adult I bring my own pets here and we've gotten great service every time. They worked with us to make procedure costs as affordable as possible, watched over my cat closely when she needed intense surgeries, and worked hard to make sure she had the resources needed to recover.

We took our brand new puppy here for his first check up. From the first encounter with the front office staff we felt welcomed and special. The vet techs were attentive and reassuring. Dr. O'Brien did a thorough exam and took time to give advice and answer questions - helping us navigate the first weeks of being proud puppy parents.

I really enjoy the ladies at the front desk. They are so patient and efficient but I am AMAZED at Dr. Schaff! So smart and so kind and so special I will never go to anyone else!

My family recently moved to the area, and we were looking around for a vet for my two dogs. I loved the idea of finding a vet, boarding, and daycare facility all in one, so I could use the same place regardless of what kind of care I needed for my pets. One of my dogs started to get sick, so I decided to choose this animal hospital so he could get all-inclusive care. I took my pup here three times over the course of about a week, and each visit was met with wonderful, caring, and knowledgeable staff. My veterinarian, Dr. Dear, performed many tests on my pup to help diagnose him and try to get him well again. I was so thankful for the diagnostic capabilities of this hospital and the sweet staff members who took such good care of my boy. Unfortunately, he had cancer, and it was his time to go. Although heartbreaking, our dog was able to be let go peacefully. The comfort room made it feel like he passed in a home instead of a hospital. Every person who interacted with our dog and our family was so kind, comforting, sweet, and understanding. We were able to take our time saying goodbye and Dr. Dear talked us calmly through the process of letting him go. I highly recommend using this facility for your pet's care. The veterinarians here have a wide range of expertise, the facility has a collaborative mindset to give each pet the best care, and there is a wide range of medical equipment available to diagnose and treat your pet.

They have Always been pleasant and so easy to work with when it came to my furry babies. Our Harley was really sick, almost didn’t make it. The vet, and his staff were nothing but the kindness. I felt their compassion throughout Harleys difficult time. 💕She doing Great, we are nothing but grateful!

June/2023: Katie Dear is a phenomenal veterinarian and an *actual* good person. She has personally sat in there with my husband in our sadness after putting our pets to sleep and shared how special she thought our pet was. I have never felt so seen or witnessed by a vet and that's why I will continue to bring my animals to her. Under her care and guidance I know my animals are getting THE BEST care that the Kansas City area has to offer. UPDATE 10/22: Dr Dear is still our top-notch favorite veterinarian, she was super great with our new kittens, Josephine and Costanza. UPDATE 07/21: My babies are patients of Dr Dear and she's probably the best vet I've ever encountered. I gladly drive my babies from Liberty to Blue Springs just for Dr Dear. I have never met a vet like her, and will never take my pets anywhere else if I can help it. The physicians and staff at Blue Springs are some of the most genuine, caring, and pleasant professionals I've ever met in the veterinary medicine industry. They took excellent care of my kittens and sent me updates throughout their surgery (everyone lost their reproductive rights) and made me feel very at ease knowing they were in compassionate, caring, capable hands. I chose this practice because of recommendations, but I will be returning because Sheila, Dr Bradley and Dr DiGasbarro are some of the best people I've met here in Missouri and I am completely impressed with their clinic model -- they even sent Scout and Battle Cat a get well card.

They are pricey but Dr Schaff is the most caring person! She is so genuine and personable. All the stars for her! Thank you for helping take care of our family!

I have brought my animals to this facility since it first opened. The care was excellent. This morning I I brought my Yorkie for his annual check up and vaccinations. This evening, my dog died! He was healthy, happy and active this morning. Now, he’s gone. I am in shock and beyond grief! There are other options for your pet’s care…please explore them before choosing this place.

I recently purchased a new puppy and his required after purchase check-up, was scheduled through them. I was quite surprised, at how welcome and over-the-top, friendly, the entire staff was to the pup and myself. My puppy was anxious, which made me anxious, but the friendly and helpful staff put us both at ease. I had been looking to purchase a pet playpen and had been having a hard time finding the item in stock and in store for purchase. I mentioned this to the Vet that was attending to my pup and before our appointment was over, the Vet had called around Independance stores and located the pet playpen for me, all I had to do was go pick it up. I am from out of town and won't be able to take advantage of this gem of a place, so, the least I can do is share my experience, so those searching will know they have a great option, here with Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort.

I could not have been more pleased with the love and care that Dr. Bradley and Naomi (?) provided to my dog (Vida). There are no words to express or describe that could come close to match how incredible they were at explaining the diagnosis as well as putting my worry and concerns to rest with what her on going treatment was going to entail. They were wonderful with showing their love and attention to her as if she was one of their own, which helped keep her calm and trustworthy (which is HUGE in my book). Their passion for animals, in general, but also their well being completely flowed naturally out of them in everything they did and said to me and towards Vida.I am forever appreciative and grateful and Vida will forever be a patient of their office!

After dealing w cavanaugh and oak grove I was devastated that I couldn’t find a vet I truly loved, then after getting our frenchie from petland, we had a deal for using this vet. I have a 3 pound, full grown chihuahua so I understand that some doctors can see her as annoying, but she is the calmest, loving, mamas girl. Dr. Freeman is the only vet I have found it the past 3 years that makes me (and my pups) feel important. She let me hold my pup while evaluating her and that was very important to me bc clearly my girl was nervous. She also never made me feel like a crazy dog mom. To her it was probably another normal vet visit, but to me I felt so relieved that I found someone that genuinely cared about my dogs. I love the way she spoke to me & her attitude towards my dogs (esp my psycho frenchie). So - for anyone who has looked for a vet that feels safe, caring, and respectful, I 100% recommend Dr. Freeman!!
