Rope Playground at Roanoke Park

Park

👍 No restrooms nearby and the rope slide can be a bit daunting for younger aged kids. This park is great for maybe 8/9+ as there are many older kids things to do which younger children will struggle to play with. Not to say this isn’t a good park for all ages, it has baby swings even I believe. Howev... People often mention kids, park, rope, older, time,

No restrooms nearby and the rope slide can be a bit daunting for younger aged kids. This park is great for maybe 8/9+ as there are many older kids things to do which younger children will struggle to play with. Not to say this isn’t a good park for all ages, it has baby swings even I believe. However, my 7yr old was even struggling with the height of the rope slide and how it is accessed via climbing. If you have younger ones, be ready to play with them on a few of the toys because of the complications they’ll bring. Overall, amazing park in a nice safe & quiet area. We will certainly be back again.

Beautiful and creative playground surrounded by lots of trees. The only problem is that there are no bathrooms or portable bathrooms, which forces everyone to find a private spot in the trees. It's a beautiful neighborhood and I'm sure the residents don't want to smell that wafting through the neighborhood.

One of the most delightful parks in the Volker neighborhood of KC. It has an almost two-story rope pyramid, slides, swings for toddlers and teens! There's a nearby walking trail, rocks to climb on and it's near one of the more popular volleyball courts. It's always very clean and my kids love to come here. Even I love it!

This is an amazing park!!! If you are looking for something to do bring your kid here they will have a blast! We were looking for a place to take our kiddo to run some energy off, since we are visiting from out of town. I'm so glad I found this place!!!

Really nice park with a assortment of different areas for all ages, the sandbox for the little ones was a really awesome touch, the artificial turf made for a soft ground for kids to fall on and the jungle gym was top notch, it has a Zipline to that's smaller than the others around town which makes it easier for smaller kids to ride on. Also has benches an stumps to sit scattered all around the park for the adults. Easily top 5 park in Kansas City.

My kids love this place. Nussled in the valley of the Roanoke neighborhood. It's never got direct sun in the afternoon. And there a goof crowd that comes tome and time again.

This park is a great place for older kids to learn how to climb and gain confidence in their physical abilities.

This park was so much fun! The rope fort and bridge made this a great place to bring kids for family fun.

The large tension structure is not suitable for kids under 6 and probably older. There's a real risk of serious injury. There are several other stations that are ok for younger kids. The zip line is pretty cool. It will support an adult and small child. Enjoy.

Looks like an awesome park for older kids but my 3 year old was too young for most of what this park had to offer

What a gem! I didn't know this existed until we were invited for a bday party. Great place for that for kids 10 and under. Picnic tables available. Not too many shady areas so definitely bring sunscreen.

Younger kids can enjoy the swings and musical instruments and a little slide, while older kids will also enjoy climbing the huge rope tower, large slides, and zip line. 👩🏼 Braved the rope tower to help 👧🏼 down the slide, it's only slightly terrifying, but very fun. Surface: woodchips and turf Shade: sunny Bathroom: no (lots of trees in case of post cocoa emergencies 🙃) Wheelchair accessible entrances A five ⭐ park if it had a bathroom.

Even my 80 year- old dad Loved it! If you are looking for the park in KC with the zipline, this is the one! A terrific playground with a huge rope climb, a couple cool slides, a "merry go round" (what my kids call the diabolical spinning thing), and of course swings and a cool sandpit. There's some shade, but like most playgrounds... not much. ! great place for all ages. Unfortunately the outdoor musical instruments were broken when we were there.

Having a 5 year old, I've been to a few kid's parks, but this is one of my favorites. It is not all colorful molded plastic. Instead, it harkens to the past with steel slides, and a zip line and a wonderful rope tower and slide. You just look at it and your piratical side emerges! Or Tarzan or Swiss Family Robinson. There are swings and a sand pit with random rocks as the perimeter. There is stuff for toddlers and older kids to do, all in a more natural park like setting. And benches and a picnic table for us older folks to sit at or eat/work. Lovely park in a beautiful neighborhood!

I give it a 4 only because of the lack of a public restroom It was our family's first time we have a 2 year old and almost 4 year old girls and they had a great time sliding and swinging and climbing hiking into the woods playing the music instruments. Even hubby enjoyed himself 😄
