The older male host was kinda rude. I walked in and he just said "what do you need", I said a booth for two, he said "you only need a table if there's two of you", okay whatever that's fine... So sat down... Waiter was nice enough, didn't come to the table too often. The pasta was absolutely delicious. Definitely a pricey place for a glass of wine but I guess that's the point. Nice place to sit back and have a conversation.

Louie's food and service is always great. This was our first visit to this location and we had a great time. We will be coming back. The incredible thing is that almost everything on the menu is gluten free and the keep a truly GF kitchen. Celiacs can splurge on comfort food it is hard to find anywhere else. Things like fish and chips, deep fried cheese curds, and coated food like chicken picatta. Yum, yum. It is expensive, but worth the splurge.

This is a restaurant with friendly but very slow service and enjoyable but not great food. If you are looking for a place to unwind, socialize and let the evening unwind at a relaxed pace, this may be a good fit for you. Otherwise, you'll do just as well or better down the road. The wine that I got was upper end from their by-the-glass options, but the chardonnay was only mediocre. The portion was good. Per our waitress'es recommendation, I ordered the spicy shrimp diablo. This was a respectable dish with good shrimp, pasta and sauce which was enjoyable and well plated. While it was tasty, it certainly was not the hot or spicy that I expected for a diablo meal. The beignets were well done - a solid hit to share. They add a splash of flavor in a stylish dessert, which was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, we did enjoy dinner but I would be less than enthusiastic about returning here because of the glacial pace of the meal.

The food and service is excellent here. We came for the brunch, but the lunch was a pleasant surprise (brunch only served on weekends).

The last time I was at Louie's Wine Dive and kitchen was about four years ago for cocktail with friends. Today I went because I heard they had a brunch and I was so pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Our waitress Ashlee, was so personable and shared information about all the great items on their menu. She even served us a complimentary plate of beignets with caramel sauce that were hot, fresh, and delicious. I went with the pecan french toast with rum butter sauce and a side of biscuit with gravy. Both were outstanding dishes. My friend ordered the Blue plate special which had the most incredible breakfast potatoes. They were crispy on the outside but so soft on the inside and very well seasoned. I cannot wait to come back and enjoy another wonderful experience at Louie's Wine Dive and Kitchen. On a side note, I also appreciated how clean the restaurant was and how important it was for them to have all covid safety protocols in place. I felt safe eating there.

Make a reservation. Charcuterie board was delicious and definitely would be enough for a little bite with some wine. The steak was a little over cooked for what we asked but it had a good flavor. The triple bacon gnocchi was very rich and tasty. The Merlot was good but definitely check prices or just get a bottle. The Old Fashioned was one of the best we’ve had in KC. Overall a great experience but it is pricey.

Small dive with big flavor. Whether you order the food or just stopping in for a drink this place does not lack in either. With the atmosphere to match this place is a must visit in Overland Park. Great energy and service from everyone inside. This is a great venue with every corner covered. I have been here a couple times before but decided to try brunch this go around and was not disappointed. Had the rise and shine Flatbread with bottomless cranberry mimosas and beignet's on the side. Filling and delicious I will definitely be back

Todd was great. His service, chefs kiss. The amount of knowledge he has about the menu and what wines pair with the food is amazing. He takes his job serious and makes the experience one to remember. Definitely will be coming back.

Outstanding place. Had breakfast. High quality food. Here is what I know, biscuits and gravy are unique and flaverful. OP omlette was cooked perfectly. Service was great. Nothing bad exists here. Coffee was great too. Cool people eat here...

First visit: stopped on a whim due to such great reviews. Best decision we made! Great staff (thank you to Naomi and the gentleman from the kitchen!), amazing food (squeaky cheese, chicken picatta, Nashville hot chicken). Flavors we're great and prep was perfect. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you!!

Long overdue, love this place! Brunch and Happy Hour are great times to go. Fantastic tacos for Happy Hour and the buffalo cauliflower has the texture of buffalo chicken, simply phenomenal. Can’t go wrong with the burger or the sliders. Beignets with the rum sauce makes it taste better than the Cafe Du Monde version in NOLA in my opinion with an appropriate amount of powdered sugar here. I’m not a wine guy but I’ve been told they have an impressive list. I prefer the cocktails and the old fashioned is great for happy hour along with the mules. Check out my photos to judge for yourself. Highly recommend!

Todd was such a pleasant surprise, his knowledge of wine and friendly demeanor certainly enhanced our dining experience. He was attentive and available, frequently checking in on us, just enough to be helpful and not enough to be intrusive. All our questions were answered intelligenty and effectively. His array of knowledge was very impressive. It was so nice to be treated as a welcome guest rather than a source of income. Overall an exquisite experience. P.S. Can you post Todd's shift so we can plan our next outing? TIA

I have visited this location many times and at all hours of operation and it never fails the food, the service, the atmosphere is always perfect. Today I had an omelet and was slow eating it, the staff recognized this and asked if there was an issue. I advised that it was a little different than what I was used to, not as well done as I liked it, but would still keep it since it was delicious, the General Manager, Paul, himself walked to the kitchen and remade my food (since they were so busy and I insisted I was fine). I should add I have a gluten allergy and have NEVER had a reaction to any food here. Their shrimp tacos, squeaky cheese, salads, fries and honey chicken (all gluten free) are some of my favorites. You will not and can not go wrong with this place. Lunch, Brunch, happy hour, dinner, drinks with friends you name it. Check them out and look for Ryan the bar tender he can recommend any drink that pairs well with any food they serve!

We waited at our table at Cheesecake Factory for an HOUR without service. We decided to head over to Louie’s due to this - and were NOT disappointed! The manager heard about our experience and brought us an appetizer on the house - even though it was not their fault whatsoever. Server and management was INCREDIBLE! Food was OUTSTANDING! They have earned my business for LIFE! THANK YOU LOUIES!

This was my second time visiting this location and I continue to be impressed. Our server Franny was attentive and helpful, providing great wine selections and food pairings. The charcuterie board was fun and a great appetizer for our small group. I highly recommend visiting during happy hour, as well. You can't go wrong with the 3 - 6pm timeframe everyday. The squeaky cheese, pecan brussels sprouts, and potato chips are so good. However, the beignets with the rum butter sauce are a must! Give Louie's Wine Dive a try whether you enjoy a glass of wine, an old fashioned, or tasty food. You won't be disappointed!

I will say there was ups and downs to this place from the amazing brussel sprouts that was five starts to a pasta dish that was zero flavor just spice and a chicken dish that the actual chicken was incredible like some of the best chicken I have ever had but the rest of the dish was so disgusting I spit it out instantly the sauce on those potatoes were the most vile thing I have ever ate I will say service was great and so was atomsphere just over all not a great experience because of the quality of the food

Well, this was an unplanned stop, and it turned out to be really good. When all the other surrounding restaurants had crazy wait times, this place was able to accommodate us right away. This was my first time here, and I was very pleased. I will definitely give them my business again. If you're in the area, and looking for something different, and want to get away from the larger crowded places, I would recommend giving this place a try. On this particular night, I had the Chicken Piccato, and topped if off with a Chocolate Torte. Very delicious. Anyway, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This was my first time here, and I really thought I would love it. Food wise my avocado toast was delicious. The medium egg made everything taste great which I had never had before. Our server somewhat attentive but not overly attentive. What I had an issue with was the owner (or I believe I overheard her say owner). She came in talking loud about computers with the hostess. They were talking loud back and forth at the front, and unfortunately we were seated right behind their half wall so we could hear everything quite loudly. I was needing a refill of my coke, and I could not find our server after a few minutes. I walked up to the side bar area where the believed owner was getting a refill herself. She turned to me, and I am assuming I startled her. I asked for a refill, but her facial expression made me stop mid sentence. She proceeded to wave her hand at me and told me to “use my words”. I was so taken aback by that. I’ve never had someone talk down to me like that in a customer service aspect. Not a great first impression, and I really wish I had had a quick comeback to her when it all happened. I’m hoping she was having a rough day, and that’s not how she handles herself normally.

Such a great spot. Great food (we had shrimp tacos, fish and chips and the apple salad) and wine selection. Service was prompt and polite.

Louie’s wine dive was recommended to my husband and I by a friend, and now that we’ve been, I can’t stop wanting to go back! The food was wonderful and our server Franny made our anniversary dinner perfect! This is one of the few places where the service and the food were both excellent.

Louie’s is a gem - both for locals and for visitors. The menu exemplifies the definition of a creative masterpiece with each dish considered for the height of flavor while being complementary to their unique yet well-rounded wine list. Whenever I go to Louie's I look forward to impeccable service and an inviting ambiance cultivated by the whole staff, but Franny shines in particular. Louie's is a go-to for special occasions and I highly recommend for an unforgettable dining experience.

Oh my my my! This place tho! Great happy hour for food and drink. Smaller and wonderful menu. They do EVERYTHING top notch. Nice variety. I had their old fashion on happy hour. Superb. For dinner i had their seasonal steak. Filet. I added shrimp and wow! I just wish it was bigger. Jk. I would have been in a food coma. Fantastic service and atmosphere. This has redeemed my Kansas City food exploration. Come check them out!!

Title: Delightful Dining Experience! Rating: ★★★★★ I had an amazing time at Louie’s! The food was outstanding, with a diverse menu that catered to different tastes. The quality of ingredients (especially the gluten free options) and presentation were top-notch. Franny was our server and she was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend for a memorable dining experience that will leave you wanting more!

I was very happy when I found a restaurant that serves a lot of gluten free options. We went after lunch hours about 12:50pm. On a Tuesday. We were seated quickly. I ordered the cheese curds, and the risotto. My husband and had the apple walnut chicken salad. The food came out fairly quickly. The cheese curds were fabulous. The risotto was awful! I was expecting something earthy and creamy this was sour not earthy at all and the risotto wasn’t completely cooked. I think they used Greek yogurt in the mix and well just “yuck”. My husbands salad look really good but the balsamic was bland as if it had been sitting instead of freshly mixed. Then we had to wait over 15 mins while our server disappeared. She did not ask how our meal was only if we needed anything else. Not sure if we will be back.

Decided to try this and glad we did. We had a wonderful romantic experience. The food was good along with the service. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. We'll be back!

Ordinary exterior but unexpected interior and atmosphere. The menu is simple but everything you need for a great breakfast. Drinks, beers and mimosas. Great for groups or couples (like us).
