The place is really beautiful and cozy, there are books and board games, the menu is pretty interesting, food and coffee tasty. However, I found the pricing a bit weird. After we took a place and got ready to order, we found out that there are 2 types of coffee - veloce (fast) and relax, and both types are basically the same, the difference (x2 in price!) is about where do you sit or how fast you drink (it was not really clear). Even though we had to pay two times more for the coffee, we also still had to pay for service. When it comes for service - firstly I got cappuccino instead of double espresso, then they forgot about the cinnamon - not a big issue, but for this price I’d expect something really perfect and relaxing. I appreciate a bowl of water for my dog, however the bowl was pretty dirty, would be nice to get a clean one without something floating in it. Also, a waiter made a sharp movement towards my dog so that my dog got irritated - I’m pretty sure he did it for a reason, looked like he wanted to annoy the dog and laugh. Not funny at all. I understand maybe he didn’t mean anything bad, but why do you have to make another creature to feel bad and anxious, why do you have to cause bad emotions for someone? And if you have to - please use someone else for it, not my dog. Overall, probably it’s still a nice place to relax and have a drink and some food. Maybe I just didn’t have the best experience. Despite everything, the service was friendly. I’d advice to make pricing more clear to avoid confusion.

I've been here a few times and I'm. In love with the decor and the outside patio. I recommend the french toast and the hansel and gretel smoothie.

Amazing brunch place! We ordered eggs benedict, one with bacon and the other with salmon and it was delicious. They also offer gluten free bread and vegan milk! Service was very nice and the atmosphere is great. I recommend going here!

We were looking for a heavier brunch after many days of lighter Italian espresso and croissant and this place hit the spot. Eggs, bacon, toast. We had the calories to go exploring.

Perhaps the best cappuccino I've had in Italy so far. Nice croissant. Excellent service. Lovely atmosphere and seating both inside and out. I also heard some others raving about the brunch items. Unfortunately I saw the apple pie after having a croissant. I'll be back.

Flying in from Frankfurt, I got in to Lucca early and my room wasn't ready. We were recommended by the front desk, to a wauint little coffee joint nearby. In my experience, when the front desk makes a recommendation, you can trust it. So we took a short stroll in perfect weather and came upon H&G Coffee Lounge. We were not disappointed. The space was Amazing. There was a book on every table, they had a library of tabletop games, and that wasnt even the best part. The food, was AMAZING. I had the Eggs Benedict with Salmon. The egg wasn't poached. It was better. They served it with a 61 degree egg. Amazing. After that, we browsed their selection of cakes and desserts and got an apple pie with a scoop ice cream as well as a Chocolate Cake. Delectable. And the truth is, I still haven't come to the best part. The best part of the whole experience, was the service. The service was absolutely stellar. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're in Lucca and you have the opportunity, you can't miss coming here. If you don't come, you're truly missing out on a hidden gem.

A real cool, elegant and rimantic place in the heart of Lucca. The waiter was really kind, professional and efficient. My apple pie with Ice Cream was really good; well balanced and really taste. Also Orange Juice was excellent, soupy but not artificial or too sweet. The prince was fair.

Great spot off the beaten path. Wonderful avocado toast for breakfast and the barista made me an iced mocha I had been craving. Nice ambiance inside and a wonderful patio area outside as well. Fantastic drink called the 10-12 or something like that. No dinner but interesting and varied tapas

Super cozy atmosphere and great staff, very kind attentive. Cocktails were amazing and the food was great as well. Would absolutely recommend it, looking forward to another drink :)

Perfect spot for bunch, I booked using online options and was very simple. Had confirmation that day. Food was tasty and lots of options for the breakfast/brunch menus. Staff were happy and helpful Perfect spot to stop and watch the world go by in the streets of lucca.

This was by far the best meal we had in our stay in Lucca. The food was very high end in flavor and presentation and a nice change from the typical Italian meals served everywhere else. We had dinner which was by far the best meal as then also breakfast one day. In the morning we had to wait quite awhile for our food but the evening was no problem. The drink menu was amazing and offered a drink (alcoholic and non) from every country around the world. I had one from Africa that was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We also ate at another high rated place in the main piazza and that meal wasn't even close to the quality at H&G.

No A/C and the staff didn't like my request to replace my burnt coffee. They looked at us with dissatisfied faces until we left.

One of the best cafe interiors in Lucca. 👌 I was visiting this place during Lucca Comix event. 🔥 Moreover, we were allowed to shoot my model in cosplay here. Thank you so much! As for the food, I was enjoying tiramisu. ♥️ Also I have tried banana bread cake and coffee.

Terrible. Very very long wait when there weren't that many people in the cafe. Coffee eventually arrived.... But not the food we'd ordered. Eggs Benedict with bacon. I think we waited around 45 minutes in total. When it arrived it was inedible. Eggs, barely cooked, bacon however was so crispy it wasn't possible to eat. Hollandaise sauce was completely split and gloopy, plus there was barely any there. Will not be returning.
