One month sign up fee was 90€. They'll issue you a card which you'll turn in every time you enter and pick up when you leave. The gym is small, really small, but enough weights to keep the strength and size away from home. Every once in a while they'll move a couple of machines around to reinvent the space but you can't create space...it's always a tight fit. If it's an Italian Holiday the gym is closed all day. A good but limited variety of machines. Oddly a Hammer strength like military and straight press, and not an incline ( my favorite). Only one preacher bench, and only one curl bar for the whole gym. If somebody grabs it for french curls you're gonna have to wait til they're done. Same thing with the two flat bench press and one incline bench press rack. One free weight squat rack and one Smith's machine rack. If you're benching or squatting 405# you'll be using half the 20kg plates in the gym. Eventhough there are signs not to do this ...I've seen someone take the olympic bar to do floor hip lifts. There is no free weight leg press just the stack weight one. The dumbles are limited and only go up to 40kg / 90 lbs. They've got 3 or 4 adjustable benches in the smallish dumbell room. There is a second floor laminate floor area seemingly for group classes. On the other hand people put their weights away which is pretty nice. Showers are free, clean, with hot water, bring soap and a towel. They have good sized lockers in the changing rooms. Bring a lock or they can lend you a (free) key to their small lockers, for wallets etc, which are right up across from the front desk. They've got plenty of stair masters, and treadmills but something like three stationary bikes, one of them recombinant. Front desk person is nice. I heard gyms outside the city center are cheaper but if you're too far to keep going consistently..what's the point.

Straight off the bat: any gym that plays Elvis, Elton John, Queen, The Beatles and Springsteen gets my money. Alas, I didn’t know that upon signing up and it was a fantastic bonus of my two week pass for €55. Very cramped at peak hours but, outside of those, it’s a great place to train. They’ve got a squat rack, plenty of free weights and benches, and lots of cardio equipment. Showers and changing facilities are basic but it’s everything you need. Rock on Swan.

My favorite gym in Italy during a 3 month stay. Pros: Lots of equipment, almost heavy dumbbells (I think they went to 42kg), friendly staff, good pricing, and they don't have the silly you can't wear your sneakers into the gym rule that a lot of Italy has. Cons: the only con would be that of any good gym, crowded during peak hours. If the staff is reading this, grazie mille per la tua palestra! Era molto buono! Vorrei tornare li il prossimo tempo saro in Firenze :)

I visited this gym while on vacation in Florence . Had everything I needed, bumped plates, a squat rack, lockers. Even had micro plates. I tried a couple other gyms and swan was the only one with serious weightlifting equipment.

If you're an American used to a "globo-gym," this is not the place for you. But it's where many American students and locals intermix. Despite the small space, it has everything you need: Dumbbells, Olympic bars, machines, cables, treadmills, ellipticals, and a space for classes. Plus it's less expensive than other palestras nearby.

Small, well-equipped gym with lots of equipment and a nice owner. Technogym equipment and KH up to 40kg. Lots of Technogym equipment in good, well-maintained condition. Many leg machines and even blackrolls are available. The gym is equipped with ceiling fans and also air conditioning. However, these were not turned up and therefore it was very warm, but this is the only point of criticism. Separate changing rooms for men and women as well as showers are available. You need your own lock to lock your box. A day ticket costs €15. The gym was only moderately attended and there were no waiting times (Friday at around 5:00 p.m.). Definitely recommended if you need to work off the pizzas on a city trip to Florence. :-)

Swan gym is the perfect spot to stay in shape while you’re in Florence. There are many locals and visitors who use this gym, so you will feel welcomed. They have any equipment you could ask for in a workout. The treadmills are also very nice. They also have daily classes that are similar to Les Mils programs. You’ll be challenged and sore the next day!

Amazing gym. Has plenty of equipment and freeweights. Powerlifter friendly too. No nonsense gym for locals, international students, and tourists.

relativly small gym, has technogym plates, few barbells and only one squat rack, not the best for heavy lifting but for other people great

Friendly place that has all the basics. It's a bit cramped but the location is great. I got a month pass for 80Euro.

    - The best: location near city center, working and almost newest Technogym machines. - Negative: unpoliteness of owners, random application of pre-published discounts, dirty and flooded changing rooms, unhealthy machine cleaning facilities.

👍 Excellent gym; it is one of the best in the area and with the best quality-price ratio, even if it is a little expensive. Decent weight room and two training rooms on the first floor. Good equipment from Technogym, but there is ample room for improvement; Specifically, a hack squat and a multipower...
