We had a fantastic and fun time climbing on this beautiful trail. The main parking gets packed quickly, so please plan your trip accordingly. The trail becomes crowded in the middle of the day. The average climbing time up to the top is around 30-35 mins, depending on how long you spend on the steep paths and your resting time. It is worth getting there since you can see outstanding mountain and horizon views. I was excited and thrilled to see people paragliding off from the top. On the way down, inclinations are high, so being careful is the top priority. I suggest you wear hiking shoes, pack some lunches and enjoy the fun. I highly recommend this fantastic trail to everyone

Being a first time hiker, it was a difficult hike for me. We took 2.5 hrs to climb to the top. I could see many children hiking as well but not recommended for kids below 10 yrs. The view at the top makes it worth . It's fun to watch paragliders at the top. Parking at the start point is limited and gets full quickly. So recommend to start early though we started hike at 12 noon n could find a parking spot. There is second way to.the top from where vehicles can go too. It's easier but u will miss all the fun and scenic beauty while climbing up. It's also dusty as concrete road is not built. So stick to hikers' path for a better hiking experience.

Moderate hike with decent elevation gain!!! - - trail length is ~4 miles with approximately 1600 ft elevation gain. - There is a rocky patch at the start for about half a mile and some steep patches in the middle where you’d have majority of the elevation gain. - The view from the top is breathtaking and there is another good view point at half a mile distance before the actual one. - Trail is well maintained but at the beginning it’s very narrow. -Took about 4.5 h to complete for a beginner like me with about 40 minutes waiting time on the top. - Parking could be difficult but there was one pay & park very near which had a good amount of spaces available

So look. I'm not an expert hiker. We do lots of walking and few tougher hikes a year. So I'm not a novice either. But if I'm being honest, this hike was almost the end of me. I felt the presence of the reaper several times. Apparently this side of the trail is about 2.5 miles up to the lookout. Which somehow didn't feel that long but also felt longer than anything has ever felt ever in the history of anything. So, the good? Beautiful trees and surroundings, 95% of the hike is full shade which was a life saver, and it was so peaceful and calm. Except for the dying panting sounds of other hikers also reconsidering every decision they've ever made to lead them there. The trail is fairly well maintained. Lots of big rocks make up the path towards the beginning. Some acting as stairs. Then it is mostly a dirt trail after that. Lots of switch backs obviously since you're literally climbing a mountain. Lots of good places to be able to "pull over" to let opposite hikers pass if needed. And so much fun to see the parasailers float above through the tree canopy as you get higher. The view up top is awesome. It was a hazy day but I'm sure on a clearer day it is amazing. And it's so cool to watch people take off from the top. The walk down can be tough as well considering the fact that your legs will likely be jelly from the climb up. Watch your step on the loose dirt parts as my soul left my body a few times when my foot skid on the way down. It was happening to a lot of people so just be cautious. I'm sure for very fit, very frequent hikers it is nothing besides a good workout. But for everyone else, it's a bit rough. Totally worth it though. I would do it again. Not any time soon. But hypothetically I would do it again. Oh and parking was a mess at 11am on a Saturday. Like 5 cars waiting just to turn in to the lot. But we were able to get a spot after about 10 minutes of waiting.

Enjoyed the hike yesterday.. took 3 hours to complete, started at 4pm and returned by 7 pm. It was tough but took enough breaks to rest. Enjoyed the God’s beautiful creation.

I enjoyed this trail! It is doable by anyone and has no tricky or risky sections anywhere. The trail is never so steep as to go breathless, but there are a few spots to sit down and catch your breath if needed. I didn't hear much by way of birds but it was a cold and overcast morning, which isn't exactly great for spotting a lot. But the woods are gorgeous for photography! The greens and colors are simply stunning!

Came here around noon on labour day, parking was full but no other car waiting and I could get a spot in 5mins. It was not crowded thanks to the cloudy chance of rain weather. Seattle paragliding tour is just next door, so convenient if you want to paraglide from poo poo pt. Trail is well maintained though very rocky and steep incline in a short distance, will definitely get your heart pumping. Love how close this TH is for an easy quick workout anytime and no pass required. There is also honey buckets at the TH.

The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the parking is very busy, and the trail is busy. The Paragliders launch from the top and that’s pretty cool… but if you’re looking to get lost in the forest for a few hours and not see another soul, this is not the trail for you! For a relatively quick and heart-pumping hike that’s close to Seattle, it’s a must-do! Happy Trails :)

There are two ends of this trail, from the trailhead behind issaquah high school we did an out and back in total 6.6 mile hike as a group of 9 people. The reason to go from this less popular starting point is to avoid crowd and steep inclines (the main trailhead is said to lead a much steeper climb). We spotted an owl on our way and found ourselves lucky to enjoy the view on a relatively cloudy day! The trail is mostly shaded, after rain air is super nice and not many bugs. But I’ve heard bug stories on a dry sunny day.

This is one of my favorite hikes. Nice and close to downtown Issaquah and yet you feel deep in the wilderness for the most part. This is a fairly intense hike. There are a lot of rocks and rock/root steps. When it rains this trail gets fairly muddy and slick in some areas. There is a false summit that overlooks the valley and on clear days you can see Rainier. The actual summit overlooks Issaquah, Bellevue, and the barely visible Seattle. The trail is easy to follow. There are two ways to tackle this. The Chirico Trail and the poo poo point trail head. The latter is a longer, less intense hike. The chirico Trail has some trails that lead to rock walls but are marked if you pay attention.

Parking can get hectic in the summer time but they did a good job w the space available. There were three porta potties and there is a shelter w bathrooms at the top. Great launch site for paragliding on the south launch, but the west launch is even better because it has astroturf so it never gets muddy. The landing is big with no obstacles w two windsocks.

Great hike I did with my 4 kids, ages 5, 6, 7, and 9, they all did great for our first hike of the year, and we made it to the top to watch the paragliders take off. Great views, definitely doing it again.

A moderate hike with a decent elevation gain and good views. You can see a lot of foot traffic over the weekends. Would recommend to start early in the morning, to find a better parking spot.

Good work out, but nothing too crazy. Awesome seeing the paragliding at the top and Mt. Rainier. Update 08/11 - saw a black bear at 4:27 today! Used iPhone and barely caught it. Live photo so can hopefully see if using an iPhone.

Good hiking trail not very far from seattle. It is moderate level trail. The view is okay. There are 2 views- mount Rainier and 2nd view is of the city. It takes ~3 hours to complete the trail. The best part is paragliding at the summit. It is amazing to see people paragliding from the point. There are washrooms at the top. Regarding transporatation- it's better to have a car as the nearest bus stop is 2.5 miles before the trailhead start point. Uber/lyft is an option. Do give it a try!
