If ever you wanted motivation and inspiration for planting an indigenous garden, the Aloe Farm is the place to go. I have never seen such an intense display of colour - it is truly magnificent. Thank you to the owners for welcoming photographers and to the staff who are all just so friendly. Its just the other side of the dam wall in Harties and well worth a drive out there. make sure your boot is empty because you're definitely going to want to do some shopping.

The Aloe Farm makes for a perfect family outing. They have a wide variety of aloe, succulents and other plants for sale. And the is tiny gardens and spots where you can enjoy a stroll or snap a few beautiful pictures. If you're tired of being stuck indoors, a morning at The Aloe Farm is just what the doctor ordered.

The Aloe Farm is just fantastic. Its like visiting a small botanical garden, densely populated with beautiful aloes of seemingly endless varieties. They are currently (June) in flower, and it's just spectacular. Bring your camera to capture the sunbirds that dart from plant to plant. They sell a wide variety of good value aloes and bonzais, too. Well worth a trip to Harties.

I never knew that there were so many varieties of Aloes - I was so amazed. They also keep a variety of other plants as well. I am a avid birdwatcher, so I grabbed my binoculars and took a walk on the farm. I saw quite a lot of bushveld birds. The White-fronted Bee-eaters breed in one of the sand banks towards the back of the Nursery - a mudt see! This nursery is definitely worth the visit.

A must see at the end of June/ beginning of July when most of the aloes are in bloom. Besides for the wide selection of indigenous plants, succulents and aloes for sale, they have beautiful gardens to walk around in and enjoy. The vast aloe gardens have what I would imagine to be over 200 species of aloes, making the most magnificent display of orange, yellow and red flowers during flowering season. Hummingbirds and other long beaks were plentiful in these gardens, attracting quite a number of photographers. Although there were many visitors, parking was abundant and several car guards looked after the cars while we strolled through the nursery and gardens.

A must see in June/July. One of the best nurseries I've ever been to. Their aloes are beautiful and in top shape. And definitely the place for hard to find aloes. Highly recommend!

The aloe farm is a magical place... even if you are not an aloe fan. It's an eye opener when it comes to the variety of plants and their blooms. Then there is the bird life which catches the eye with their bright colours and variety. There's also a lovely garden that you can walk through. I have been a couple of times and will definitely visit again.

Winter time is the best time. We came all the way from Pretoria east and we met a couple all the way from Germiston. Its a must when you are in the area. The nursary is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The plants are marked well with easy to read prices. Amazing large Bonsai plants / trees that is a wow. Some things I can say, the shop is not that well stocked and I do think this could be a place to do quality coffee. The toilets was ok. I would have spent double the time here if the coffee was not a bean to cup mashine. All in all, we came for the Aloes in bloom and that was spectacular. The Aloe Farm will see me again in bloom time. It also draws a big bird photography crowed, professionals with LONG lenses.

Always such a wonderful time here even though it's just a garden centre. Birdlife is brilliant. They also have a lovely garden to walk through. Definitely take some time to do it, it's beautiful. Plants are also very reasonably priced and they have a good selection of grasses, shrubs, trees, succulents, standards and also a big bonsai area and lots more. Definitely worth a visit if you are a keen gardener.

An amazing collection of plants. Did not know there are that many species of aloe. Talk very informative. Lovely surroundings. Only problem was passing vehicle noise over which there is NO control.

It's a wonderful place to walk around, they evern have a picnic area between the flowers and wild birds. The garden is gorgeous for flower photography or taking photos of birds. Always so refreshing to see how clean it is there.

Nice setup, just a pity that the assistance is a bit poor. When somebody actually came to help us, he could not understand Eng so well. Prices are good, but I won't go back for the service. Lot's of nurseries to pick from. This one is not "falling over their feet" to help.
