We visited The Daily Cafe last Sunday, looking forward to burgers and milkshakes with our son. Let’s just say the experience wasn’t as daily as it used to be. First, we waited so long for our food that we thought the chickens were being raised, slaughtered, and grilled on-site. When the chicken burgers finally arrived, they were drenched in some kind of mystery barbecue sauce that clearly wasn’t a part of the original recipe. As for the strawberry milkshake? It tasted like someone blended a strawberry, added water, and said, “Smoothie!”—not lekker. The only saving grace was the banana bread, which we devoured like survivors of a long, dry season. The waitress helping us looked like she’d just been teleported there and was trying to figure out what her job was. 1 star for the banana bread and a free lesson in how not to ruin a burger.

We've had breakfast a few times here in the past and each time it's light up a little part of me that says its going to be a great day. The ladies are dedicated to their craft and you're always greeted with a warm smile. This morning I ordered a cuppachino and picked up some Ciabatta as they sell on order, not only did that cup make my morning all the better - the ciabatta was already cut to hearty slices and ready to be enjoyed with some warm butter. This is how a pre-weekend morning should start!

Clean and spacious, with a good selection of menu items and daily specials. I ordered a slice of one of the best chocolate cakes I have ever had, and my coffee was free. The coffee is good, certainly above average for Pretoria East coffee shops. Being located in a mall is a drawback but given that this particular mall (Woodlands Boulevard,Pretoria East) is very spread out and requires much walking, the availability of a good coffee shop is a good thing. Highly recommended.

My new favourite coffee shop! Great quality, good pricing, super professional staff, lovely ambience, and fast free uncapped WiFi from Woodlands Mall. This is everything you want.

You can tell from the atmosphere and the details around the Cafe that the owners really love, and are passionate about their business. I enjoyed my coffee, and the carrot cake was also nice, just had a lot going on.
